    I’m not into selling crochet, but I’m working on a bunch of projects. I have 16 of 120 frogs crocheted for the Christmas shoeboxes at my church in December. I’ve got a vest in the works, a shawl, a tree of life (Jacobean crewel embroidery), a William Morris embroidered panel (the strawberry thief), a scarf on my rigid heddle loom, and frogging a shawl I didn’t like but love the yarn. Plus purging my craft room of all the crafts I either can’t do anymore or don’t like any longer.

      That's a lot of projects to be juggling simultaneously!! Good luck with all of that (:

    You could also use the variegated blanket type yarns for a solid granny square. It’s going to be pretty either way!

    This bunny was so Awesome and Lovely❤❤❤
    I have a sugg.for your blanket : maybe try to join / sew / crochet all those square with a thinner yarn then Bernat Blanket, cuz its gonn be no fun at all to join with that big non slippery yarn🤪 If you have a smaller chenille or at least Bernat baby blanket, woukd look the same but wayyyy easier. Its maybe something to look out 😉

      Yeahhh! That's what I was thinking too. I have several smaller weight chenilles that I might use... or I may try acrylic. Definitely not going to use the same bulky weight I used to make each square though!! 😂

    My mindless relax is either a granny scraps blanket or scrunchies for market. Nice easy mindless projects both have great uses. The blankets my dog gets as they can be busy any length of scrap yarn over 50cm gets used. I tend to stick to acrylic so it's easily washable. Plush scraps get made into scrappy turtles by knotted hook crochet she has a tutorial on her you tube and I think the written pattern is on her Instagram ❤

    I am market prepping for my first market now. Would love advice on pricing of some basic items like Leggy Frogs made in posh yarn. I’ve seen them anywhere from $8 to $15.

    • @pieces_of_scrap
      @pieces_of_scrap  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I sell my Leggy Froggies for $10 each.
      When I price my items, I time how long it takes to make each of my plushies and give myself an hourly wage based on that. On top of that I also determine how much of each supply I used (ex. Yards/ounces of yarn, oz/lbs of stuffing, # of eyes, etc.) and calculate how much money I spent to make each product. The easiest way to do this is to time yourself when you first make the pattern, then also weigh your yarn before and after you finish the amigurumi, then subtract that weight to get the weight of yarn you used. Then, you simply have to weigh the finished plushie to get your weight of stuffing you used. Add all of those $ amounts together and then you should determine the profit percentage you would feel comfortable selling it for. Then add that much on top of your base price. I'd be happy to make a video about this all in the future, if that helps!! 😊💕

      @@pieces_of_scrap Thanks. I’d love more as I feel like there is not enough info out there on the business side, including what juried shows are, charging sales tax (particularly how that works for an out of state market) and filing income taxes (every skein of yarn I assume isn’t a business expense but inventory, but the yarn you used for an item sold I think would qualify as an expense).

    Thank you for your videos ❤. I'm starting to prep and get ready for my first market festival. I don't have a banner for my table yet. I'm not sure what size is best. 2 four foot tables and 1 six foot table.
    And pricing my amigurumis??? I have a lot of individual big stuff ( one of a kinds ), and not much of the little same stuff. ( 2 leggy frogs, 5 chubby frogs, 5 tiny turtles, 3 tiny octopus, 5 cats all different sizes and different patterns. 2 big mushy guys and 5 pop up mushy. And a lot of one of a kind stuff. I'm not sure this what you need for a market.. Any help would be greatly appreciated...❤

    • @pieces_of_scrap

      I'm happy to help!! 😊
      The size of your table should really depend how much product you plan to bring with you. I started with 1 6ft table and a 4x4 end table.
      I would recommend you bring a variety of different sized amigurumi, but mostly focus on prepping things that would be in your $5-10 price range. That is the price range most people are comfortable purchasing, but it's good to have a handful of big plushies that draw people in to look at what you have.
      As for pricing, what I do is, I time how long it takes to make each of my plushies and give myself an hourly wage based on that. On top of that I also determine how much of each supply I used (ex. Yards/ounces of yarn, oz/lbs of stuffing, # of eyes, etc.) and calculate how much money I spent to make each product. Add all of those $ amounts together and then you should determine the profit percentage you would feel comfortable selling it for. Then add that much on top of your base price.
