Love how you said you are not going to lower your prices because someone else's are lower!! This is a great mindset that all us small business owners should have!! It was so nice to meet you, though!! You definitely had one of the best booths there!! ❤
Finally seeing a market recap where the YT person gives a total of what their materials cost! There might be more creators out there, I just haven't seen any (so far), so I'm NOT being negative towards others, hope nobody takes it that way And as far as someone's prices are lower, yours are (imho) correct or even some items might go for a teensy bit higher. I've crochet for over 50 years, (gads! Already?!) and have sold thru a small toy store, plus have vended locally, so I know how long items take to make. Anyways, as a retired Senior on a very low income, I DO appreciate the breakdown of your market, including the cost of materials. Grats on a successful market!
Thank you so much for the kind words! That makes me feel a lot better🥹 I hope to have a long and successful crochet journey like yours!! Genuine question.. how are your wrists holding up?
@@MadebyMandaMal I sometimes have a bit of tendinitis, but even tho I just turned 70 on the 7th, and I crochet CONSTANTLY(!) my wrists don't bother me a bit. I haven't had a chance to vend in about 10 years, my city doesn't have events anymore except the 1st Thursday of the month Art Hop, which is VERY difficult to get into. Plus I have no transportation, nor anybody in town to help with that, and I am EXTREMELY shy (I have Asperger's, which was only diagnosed last year after struggling all my life to 'fit in') So I'm trying to look into Ribblr and other online venues. I did etsy from '08 til '14, and found it difficult to compete with massive imported items, they wandered away from more handcrafted items. I hope you do have a long and wonderful journey in your crochet business!
I liked your market setup, especially the turtles all in a row across the front. Will definitely be watching for your new market setup. I really enjoy your videos, they’re not too long and I love that you share your prices and best sellers!🧶
It’s amazing to see how you continue to grow with each event. Continue to set those goals! Nothing can stop you. I personally enjoy seeing your plan of each event step by step. Like I’ve said before, I wish I would have had videos like yours when I began with my small business. I love the additions of the larger plushies, keychain display, & iPad/cash box. You looked much more relaxed (in person) during this event! Witnessing the in person interaction between you & your TH-cam followers was my favorite part of the event! 🤩
I’m working on little random stuff for mystery boxes! Currently making a couple tiny fish. I also bought little aquariums, put aquarium gravel in them and crocheted fish and jelly fish and hung them from clear string from the top for my next market. I’m super excited for those!
I love that idea!! I always wanted to do a ‘make your own fishbowl’ kind of thing and I would love to get to mystery bags eventually. Good luck prepping!! Thanks for watching!
Square actually has offline transactions! You can still run square like normal & transactions will be fully processed when connected to internet again 😊
Working on prepping for my first market. I make baskets and functional crochet items, but I found this cute pattern for a mushroom chapstick holder on Ravely, so gonna make a few for my stall.
Thank you for your insights its really helpful. I am going to convert my tablet to use for checkout. Its really nice to see material costs and it gives a better idea of profits. Axolotl sweet spot is hard bees are the same its either too many or not enough. Cant wait to see the new setup. Look after your hands treat yourself to a paraffin wax treaent once in a while it helps along with hand massage and exercises for your hands❤
You might be able to set your ipad to not turn off the screen or lock, which would hopefully help with the hotspot issue. My students are currently all obsessed with axolotls, capybara, and for some reason boxes
I made the screen lock time really long so that helped😂 CAPYBARAS are like the new thing I feel like. Maybe I’ll make some!! Thank you so much for watching!
I love your set up! Is the hippo pattern yours? When I clicked the link in your doc it took me to a site where the pattern was priced super low. I’ve heard of a lot of scammers lately stealing patterns, and just don’t want to get scammed. Happy to support small businesses.
Good to know about remembering a portable charger. Question-Do you charge sales tax? And if you do, do you charge cash payers sales tax? I am getting ready to do my first market and can’t figure out how to tell the cash payers that they also have to pay sales tax like card people😵💫
Making insane goals for yourself. 😂 Totally me. Wanna climb Mt. Everest while crocheting, playing chess, and filming a documentary? We could get it done by Saturday.😅 Your makes look terrific, as usual. Congrats on a great market!❤🎉

Great video! I've been working on bees and unicorns 😊
Thank you! I love that!! What unicorn pattern do you use?
@@MadebyMandaMal I use the pattern from the book Unicorns, Dragons, and more fantasy amigurumi! It’s got a green Dino on the front cover ☺️

Hi! Thank you. It’s crochetcrochey’s hippo pattern on Etsy! I took the link right from Etsy so you’re good!
This is a super helpful video! What pattern did you use for the axolotls? They are so cute!!
Thank you! Thanks for watching! Here’s the link to them! creatoriq.cc/3KXeihP

You should! Sometimes I dont charge cash payers but when I do my taxes I end up having to cover some of the sales tax myself😅
