Since Spider-man's first appearance in the pages of Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962), there have been 6 live-action variants of the character.
Welcome to Geekwatch's variants, and in this episode we would list down all the actors who has portrayed the friendly neighborhood Spider-man.
But first, a big shout out to our SUBSCRIBER: Igor Zbitnoff.
Now on to our list.
• 5'7" Danny Seagren is the 1st actor to portray Spider-man. He appeared in the role from 1974 to 1977, in the Spidey Super Stories segment, and other bit parts of the kids educational TV show - Electric Company. Seagren was 31 years old in his first appearance as Spider-man, and 33 years old in his last.
• 6'0" Nicholas Hammond is the 2nd actor to portray Spider-man. He appeared in the role from 1977 to 1979, first in the movie pilot Spider-man (1977), leading to the Amazing Spider-man tv series that lasted for 2 seasons with 13 episodes. Hammond was 27 years old in his first appearance as Spider-man, and 29 years old in his last.
• 6'0" Shinji Tōdō is the 3rd actor to portray Spider-man. He appeared in the role from 1978 to 1979, first in the Japanese Spider-man tv series that produced 41 episodes and in between the series a feature-length film titled Spider-man (1978). Tōdō was 23 years old in his first appearance as Spider-man, and 24 years old in his last.
• 5'8" Tobey Maguire is the 4th actor to portray Spider-man. He appeared in the role from 2002 to 2021, in the following films; Spider-man (2002), Spider-man 2 (2004), Spider-man 3 (2007), and Spider-man: No Way Home (2021). Maguire was 27 years old in his first appearance as Spider-man, and 47 years old in his last.
• 5'10" Andrew Garfield is the 5th actor to portray Spider-man. He appeared in the role from 2012 to 2021, in the following films; Amazing Spider-man (2012), Amazing Spider-man 2 (2014), and Spider-man: No Way Home (2021). Garfield was 29 years old in his first appearance as Spider-man, and 38 years old in his last.
• 5'7" Tom Holland is the 6th actor to portray Spider-man. He appeared in the role from 2016 to 2021, in the following films; Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Holland was 20 years old in his first appearance as Spider-man, and 25 years old in his last.

@@Geekwatch00 Scott Leva was to play Spider-man in the 80s in the failed Cannon film attempt. There are plenty of photos of him like there are of Nic Cage as Superman.

I grew up with the Electric Company Spiderman and Nicholas Hammond in the Tv Series. They will always be my favorites.

There was an unknown actor who played Spidey in the Spider-Man Atari 2600 video game commercial with a comic accurate Green Goblin in 1982.
Also, Dan Poole played Spidey in his fan film "The Green Goblin's Last Stand" in 1992.
We'll have a different video for fanfilms, however we'll try to look for the Atari Spider-man. Thanks.
If Sara Michelle Gellar was listed as Wonder Woman, then Jack should be listed as Spider-Man.

In Great Britain in the late 70s to the early 80s tv comedy show called The Kenny Everot Show featured small comedy sketches as Spiderman I recall mostly he was on the BBC although not 100 % if he did some before switching from ITV.

We used to get Kenny Everett at I think, 1 or 2am in the morning on WNBC 4 in 1981 or 1982 in the US.
I remembered his Captain Kremmin cartoons but didn't remember him suiting up as Spider-Man.
I do remember watching Paul Hogan on WOR 9 at an earlier time around the same year dressed up as The Phantom.
Honestly none of them is a definitive Peter Parker. Japanese version excluded because he's not Peter Parker. But in my assessment, because I know more than mere mortals do. The best Peter Parker would be a mid 20's Ricky Nelson. That's right. If they found an actor that looks, sounds, and has the mannerisms of Ricky Nelson in his mid twenties, THAT would be the quintessential Peter Parker.

You completely forgot the Broadway musical, "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark". There are at least 2 actors plus understudies.

I found a really good recording but I don't think it's, "Official". Honestly though, if you can include Superman standing on a truck in a parade forever ago, this should get some attention as well. Just my opinion.

It seems like Nicholas Hammond was never really Spiderman. He looked so tall as Peter Parker, yet Spiderman looked like he was played by a much shorter and skinnier stuntman somewhere from 5' 3'' to 5' 7'' tops.
It's not unusual to get stunt double, it's easier in the case of Spider-man because he is covered head to toe, but we do see episodes of Hammond in a Spider suit, but we would agree with you that a big portion of the time it is someone else in the suit.
That stuntman was the late Fred Waugh.

They did film a 80’s live action movie teaser trailer for spider man. I don’t know the actors name.

No need to say sorry. Upon short research the actor's name is Jim Boyd. We hope that helps.
Jim Boyd played Blue Beetle (Not Charlton or DC) on The Electric Company and was the voice of Spider-Man on the Spidey Super Stories record album released by Peter Pan Records in 1977.

Why the spider man in a book called Spidey super stories
What's the question?
They used the book for Spidey Super Stories segments to recreate the act of reading a comic book since you had to read Spider-Man's on screen thought balloons because Danny Seagren never talked on the show to encourage kids to read.
Marvel also published a Spidey Super Stories / Electric Company comic book which used fewer words in the word balloons to make it easier for kids to read compared to regular comics.
The comic ran for 57 issues from 1974 to 1982.

@eoinoconnor5783 He was on the original Electric Company (1971-1977) on PBS in a segment called Spidey Super Stories during the 1974-1977 seasons.
There were 29 episodes of Spidey Super Stories.
Marvel also published a Spidey Super Stories / Electric Company comic book that ran for 57 issues from 1974 to 1982.
Loved Maguire and Garfield in the role of spiderman but Tom Holland for me is the best hope he does more spiderman films

It's cool that the oldest actor ever to portray Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire - 48) is also in the same film with the youngest actor to ever portray him (Tom Holland - 20)
Just the fact we're seeing multiple Spider-man on screen at the same time is amazing.
