- So recently we have covered both Dishonored and it's infuriating DLC... Will Dishonored 2 be any different or can I expect a nicer time... well. both. In this video we get into the long awaited sequel for Dishonored and see how good it is compared to the original, as we grind all 50 achievements!

Granny Rags used to be known as Lady Moray, she was sent to Addemire Asylum and you can find her journals there in the basement. Her portrait in the first game is in the Boyle mansion. Corvo defeats her in the sewers canonically, but in the second game Paolo is using her powers as he has her hand.
Ah hell yeah. I was waiting for this, i personally like Dishonored 1 more than 2 but the gameplay in 2 is just so amazing. My favourite part is the fact that you can actually pretty easily do a non lethal playthrough where you go into combat all the time, doing those cool slide knockdowns in the middle of a fight is just so satisfying.
One of the things i really appreciated they fine tuning in this. Pacific was amazing to run!
I feel the exact same about Dishonered 1 and 2. The first had a great story and characters but the second had much more interesting stealth mechanics. But for me the slide takedown in particular the nonlethal one made non-lethal assault way too good. They're also aren't explained to the player very well and I didn't know about them until after three full assault playthroughs.
I like D1 more too I feel like it’s much smoother too
Dishonored 2 doesn't run well for me.
my favorite part of dishonored 2 is that it has a quicksave feature for console's, open the pause menu and then hold the right trigger, such a small thing but it is hugely appreciated.
Btw, since you seem to be playing Death of the Outsider, theres something interesting to note that it seems you missed based on the footage. If you actually save Stilton by stopping his attendance to the séance, Billie's arm and eye are still intact

@@thesonofjazzy_ You can also get rid of both paolo and the overseer and send them to the silver mines. You just bring both of their bodies to the Silvergraph recording place.

Yes! Messing with the timeline in Stilton's manor is such a crazy good mechanic! So much fun to see everything changing. And phasing through time instead of teleporting is a really fun change up of the stealth mechanics.
Yeah, I think this is the canon route, because in Death of the Outsider, Billie has her normal arm and eye, before the Outsider shows up and does some stuff.
For the achievement where you need to kill an enemy with his own bullet, there is an easier way. There is an ability called reflexes that actually allows you to reflect bullets with your sword when upgraded

Can be done on The Dreadful Whale, that's how I got mine! Work health down by cooking grenade til it explodes then stand as close to the wall as possible and blast away with the explosive bullets, and done
yeah wild to see this achievement with a 6% completion rate on steam, considering the upgrade that achieves this within seconds of buying it costs, i think, 3 runes?

Just found out about the first game a month ago. Absolutely binged all of the other games/dlcs and am in love with the story and the game as a whole. Glad people are still playing or making videos on it
It's wonderful to see another person enjoy this game, I've seen many arguments for and against, but I really love both of them, even Death of the Outsider, which seems to catch a lot more contempt.
There was a comment recently by Dinga Bakaba "confirming" that Deathloop was canonically part of the Dishonored world, which if you follow the comment the Outsider makes on time bleeding into itself, kinda tracks, along with some other easter eggs, but I'd still take that with a grain of salt.
Also I've tried comparing Deathloop's map to Dishonored, I can't find a match, but that could mean anything from the landscape changed, to it wasn't discovered until much later, to "they made it the hell up".
the concept art shows that blackreef is in tyvia but its actually possible that its too small to have been drawn by a cartographer (which they sometimes do) but there are indications of small islands on the northeast most side of tyvia

Well, if it's any consolation, if you do Death of The Outsider the achievements are really easy
Until you skipped every enemy in first half of last mission and you just can't complete it without getting detected after going to void.
You can complete first mission without getting detected, just open the Daud's prison and wait.
Finally! Someone who also thinks Dishonored 2 is better than the first. Your editing and narration are top notch and the video as a whole was very entertaining. Well done

I think people who prefer the 1st are stuck in nostalgia, the second game did everything the first did but better, like, compare the targets, each one was a master work and progressively complex to face depending of how you play
now we got aerial and combat non-lethal, bonecharm crafting to make a whole build to match your skills, and we even got NG+

Personally, i just love Emily's power set, they are so wacky and spooky.
Just to add onto the bit at the end, new game plus is an amazing addition and has added MANY hours of replayability for me. Its incredibly fun just seeing what chaos i can start using all the tools i collected over several saves
Fighting the witches in the conservatory is probably in my top ten gaming moments
I reaaaaaaallly hope you like death of the outsider because while not liked much by the community, i think it has some extremely memorable missions and specifically the last mission is my #1 dishonored mission just because it takes place partially in the void which i love because the void in dishonored 2 and DotO is super atmospheric.
Death of the Outsider is my favourite bit of the Dishonored series. i always felt restricted by how the chaos system was a glorified morality system, and i find that Billie being more down to earth makes the world feel so much more vivid. i love missions 2 and 3 in particular because they really make clear how your actions affect the people around you while still hammering home the message that Billie doesn't matter
I personally found DOTO the most interesting in terms of the story. We finally get to learn more about the void and a key character which is the outsider and the following conflict of how the outsider was initially an unwilling victim and how that still doesn’t erase the damage he caused. A completely new perspective of his character in contrary to his cold and bratty character we saw in the previous games. And we get to play a full mission in the void. Also the VA somehow is more impactful and expressive in this game than the others, the vulnerability you can almost hear in the outsider’s voice in some scenes are very memorable.

Can't wait to see the next Dishonored video! That being said, I'd love to recommend the Adam Jensen Deus Ex games if you haven't 100% completed them yet (for Human Revolution you can do either the original release and the standalone DLC game, or the director's cut, which is an older version of the game in some ways than the original final release, but has the DLC included (since it takes place during the events of the game))
I was super sceptical about buying dishonored 2 but your video, and my love of achievment hunting, made me buy it and trying it out thank you and keep up the good work.
I have one I think is so big in it's scope you won't be able to do... Gears of War 3 all achievements including seriously 3.0...lol I dare ya!
Seeing someone struggle with Songs of Serkonos is so relatable lol. It took me so many playthroughs just to get it to pop.
I feel like the main reason it was bugged is due to how the music is being played. Sometimes you will hear only instruments being played, and sometimes you will only hear the vocals being played without any instruments. However, in order for the achievement to pop, you need to ensure that you listen to the song from start to end while having BOTH vocals and instrumentals audible. This meant I'd have to sit there and listen to the duo loop their song multiple times until the conditions were met and lo and behold, it popped.

What I really appreciate (just binged the other Dishonored videos) is how well you sum up the story while playing. I (not an achievement hunter) have played through both the games 5+ times and yet I got an even clearer insight into the story from you.

For me, it's the feeling that, "this place is going down and its gonna take everyone with it," from the first game is what makes it my personal favorite. Still love 2 almost as much.

Story-wise, I hold Dishonored 1 to be the better game - tighter writing and more video-gamey room for interpretation, imo - but gameplay-wise 2 absolutely takes the cake. I don't play 1 much anymore because I can't nonlethally slide-takedown folks like Batman, lol, but I do revisit it for its atmosphere.
Probably my favourite game series of all time, it’s a shame the Dishonored Arc has ended but at least they’ve tied it into deathloop :) Great video man

@@darkanayer5867 Yeah the developers confirmed DEATHLOOP is in the same world as Dishonored, just like a 100yrs or so after death of the outsider. The loop is basically the void, and that’s why the powers in DEATHLOOP are similar to the powers in Dishonored, because they come from the same place :) (FYI this isn’t major spoilers for DEATHLOOP as this is found out through Easter Eggs, notes, nods and the devs haha)

I really enjoyed dishonored 2. Loved the first one when it came out and preordered 2 the moment I found out about it but didn’t play it for years. I’m very glad I waited to play it with the not so great launch and bugs but it felt great to revisit the world and characters. I wholeheartedly agree with you about 2 perfecting aspects of 1. It was a great challenge to play blind with no powers and on the hardest difficulty. I hope arcane can think of something that would be a good follow up, like a granny rags prequel or something

I replayed them both last year with the intent to get the platinum but didn’t want to burn out so I did the clean hands and not spotted trophies and need to replay the both for the no powers, I got the songs of serkonos way back when I played it in 2016 but I don’t recall going for it so I mustn’t have got lucky with it and just been near them when they were singing! Need to go back and get these now I’ve seen these videos, can easily speed through the no powers

I finally 100%-ed this game yesterday, and tbh my favorite achievement was the one where you cant use your abilities. Its very interesting to find ways to get around situations using your full arsenal of non-magical tools

I think I was most of the way through a Pacifist playthrough, when I defeated Breanna - and a witch fell to her death outside. I didn't notice for quite awhile and borked my playthrough, I didn't want to reload at that point, I was so tired of it.
I absolutely loved doing Dishonored 2 with no powers and nonlethal at the same time
Songs of Serkonos feels bugged because they have two songs they can play one with vocals and one without, but I think it’s glitched and the none vocal music doesn’t play. They try to make it as confusing as possible by saying “Listen to there songs” making you think listen to all three musicians, but it’s listen to all three of there two different versions of the same dam song I feel your pain though that achievement sucked.
I rarely subscribe as I don’t want the clutter, but you my good sir have gained yourself a sub!

I got Songs of Serkonos completely by accident on my first playthrough of the game. Didn't even know that you needed to listen to those guys three times. The achievement just popped at the most random time 😂
I also had problems with the music achievement, but for different reasons. I always tought the third song was inside the Duke's Mansion but the achievement never appared. Later I learned that musicians from the mansion had nothing to do with the achievement, and that if you steal the black market more than X amount of times, the third encounter doesn't happen because there are some howlers waiting to ambush you were they're usually playing their song.

Corvo is played by Stephen L. Russell who also plays Garret in Thief, my partner often jokes they're the same character. There's actually a reference to Thief in the first game where two assassins are training in the Flooded District, they use the dialogue of the tutorial of Thief.
I forgot to add he also voice acts in Skyrim and Fallout, notably Belathor- which you will never unhear.
You can get that bullet achievement with the upgraded reflexes and just parry when you get shot at :)
It's almost completely unrelated but I hope in the future they do more with Corvo as a non-player character. Those first few minutes in Emily's POV and seeing Corvo use his powers in real time with a bunch of dudes instantly dying like nothing is so satisfying. Especially because as a returning player, you know his limitations and that you normally have to pre-plan certain abilities.
I have three hints for easier achievement completion. First is that you can get Fatal Redirect not only with time stopping and possession, but with bullet reflection that you can buy for 3 runes. You can do this with Emily as well. This requires just to block an enemy attack when he shoots at you, and he'll get his bullet back. The second hint is that you can kill Delilah much easier by just climbing that cliff she sits on. This is especially important for those who want to complete the game without being spotted, cause Delilah and her clones may notice you even if the don't see you. The third is that although Jindosh's lock is randomised for each playthrough, you can first get Faithful to the Abbey and Howlers ’til the End achievements, write down the right combination and load your save before helping each of the gangs. Then just go and get your Eureka easily
I did a pacifist ghost playthrough on the hardest difficulty while collecting 100% of items but I literally missed one item. It was the rune on that one bosses body. I replayed it so many times but only found out it was on the body after I had beaten the game
Couple notes from the start: the heart in the first game was also jesamine's, it used her voice, i think it was confirmed in one of the guides / books. And Megan is missing one eye, not blind
I feel so bad for you man. When I first played Dishonored 2 I got the Songs of Serconos achievement purely by accident by just hanging around looting everything trying to be stealthy :D
I don't know why but this game has always reminded me of postal because the game is only as violent as you are with the chaos system
So for not killing anyone and not getting spotted there is a secret to the encounter with Delilah, instead of taking out her decoys the real Delilah is above the area where you enter meaning you can just climb up and knock her out without triggering the rest of the fight. Just a fun detail I found out after struggling with her decoys so much
Dishonored 2 kinda sucked for me on my first playthrough. But 5 years later I enjoyed it very much and consider it almost as good as the first game.
God, as someone who did this same thing, I could not agree more on that last achievement being the hardest one. I did like 3 playthroughs for that one, and STILL didn’t get it. It’s to this day the only one I don’t have. Maybe this video will be my motivation to bring that 49 to 50… I remember that damn thing more than I remember my entire flesh and steel playthrough.

I played Dishonored 2 back early this year (started on 31/12/2021) and it took me a month basically to fully plat the game.
What intrigues me about this game was - there is (CMIIW) roughly 33 endings. Of course with that 33 possible endings, its only a handful that determines the main endings, there are only a small number of decision in your playthrough that will affect the minor narratives.
What's even surprising for me is this, i remembered playing dishonored 1 back in PS3, but somehow i can't remember anymore (due to growing up lol) But good news is that i recently bought the def edition on PS4, and will start playing it again next year.
This is the only game that I bought a collectors edition for and I do not regret it, it gave me Emily/Corvo's signet ring, Corvo's mask, a poster and a steelbook case with a PC installation disk of the game
Dishonored is this kind of game which You never fully appreciate till You finish whole game without killing anyone and being spotted. This game is truly masterpiece (both)

The safe that you rob twice for "familiarity breeds contempt" is Dr Galvani's, the guy you steal the Rat Visera/ got info on Slackjaw's man from in the first game. You can find a note saying that he moved from Clavering Blvd. because he kept getting robbed (by you).
I got to say using no supernatural powers is one of the most fun and interesting ways to play the game. Can it be tedious? yes! 100%. But it is also allot of skill and working with the game itself vs just plowing through it all.
7:15 , worth mentioning that if you save hypatia you get a full box of elixirs after the mission
funnily enough i got your last achievement in my first run without even noticing them too much, i just heard the music in the background for a couple of minutes each time while i was choking everyone.
It's kinda hilarious that you compared an obvious Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde situation to the Hulk.
Funnily enough, I got Songs of Serkonos on my first playthrough without actively trying, just because I explored the levels too much.

I personally think that going high chaos with Emily is so much more fun.
Not only are here power much better suited for a lethal assassin I also think that it's lorewise kinda fitting (from my opinion) i did a non lethal playthrough with Corvo on my first playthrough of Dishonored 1 and saw him as a more peaceful, older mature protector while I imagined Emily as a vengeful, emotion driven bloody assassin.
I also picked Emily first and did a low chaos run with her but ended up doing a third run with her in Ng+ for a high chaos, semi stealth run. If you are bored sometime I can really recommend that
As a stealth clean hands player, I LOVE how Dishonored 2 gives you the ability to check if you killed or were detected mid mission instead of only at the end.
I used Emily for my genocide play through and Corvo for my mercy play through. I feel like Emily’s been through enough trauma to where losing Corvo after her mom would just make her snap.
Corvo’s got the war experience to maintain his cool after all of this.

I agree that Dishonored 2 is better. The level design, gameplay, graphics, and atmosphere are so much better. Not to mention all the new powers, the fact that Corvo's blink finally freezes time like Daud's, and the new non-lethal balance. I loved the clockwork mansion and the time travel level was icing on the cake. You could really tell that the creators were going the extra mile with this one.

I would like to point out that when making your own bone charms using multiple of the same effect stacks. So i made a 5 sided choke out speed charm that let me choke out enemies in about a quarter second
I can imagine the duke saying: Don't you know who i am? I'm the king...i mean the duke! xD This game is an absolute masterpiece, and this was an absolute pleasure to watch, i can see how the dev's got from dishonored to prey after seeing this game.
The most tedious achievement for me was the one where i had to read all the notes and audiologs on the dreadfull wale.
I normaly like to listen to a few, but i always tend to miss one or two

I don't know if you do requests but there is a Stealth game just like the Dishonored games! It's called Thief for the ps4. You sneak around in levels trying not to be spotted ( combat is NOT a good idea). And there is a sorta kind open world to do side jobs in and hidden loot is everywhere! Give it a try who knows you might like it!
I remember subjecting myself to multiple end game achievement run…Never seen, never killed, never used a power…man I really just took the fun out of the game with that run
I liked 2 more, since the game was geared more for if you wanted to play more violently or more stealthily. All the added powers with Emily, being able to craft Bonecharms, and the New Game+ made this more enjoyably than the first.
There's also a secret ending, which is not, unfortunately, a secret achievement. If you do a playthrough as Corvo and go extremely high chaos(60% murders, if I remember correctly and kill all targets) in the very end after you kill Delilah, you can just run past Emily straight to the throne, there will be an option to interact with throne which will give you a prompt "Take the Throne".

You can actually do the same as Emily as well.
The songs of circonus achievement pops after you listen to all three songs and just walk away from them. If you run away after listening to the last song the achievement pops as soon as you can't hear them anymore. Also the last duo will not show up if you rob any black market shops.

Only thing I hate about dishonored 2 is that windows have no ledges, meaning it's more annoying to get in
Man, the amount of replayability this game has is crazy, non-lethal, lethal, no powers non-lethal, no powers lethal, stealth or combat lethal and non, different paths, NG+ using every power and rune memorized, it's just too much, i love it
