My K20A3 2005 is eating 500mls a week, with daily use and reving up high every day. Thought the engine might be on its way out, but it doesn't have any blue smoke what so ever, just doesn't sound healthy at the top of the redline. Going to change this PCV soon as see if it helps.
Dude keep doing this kind of videos doesnt matter if there is thousands of them.. I just bought my first TypeR (also fn2, also red :D ) and i have feeling that your chanel will be very useful for me in next few years (y)
I’ll be doing my pcv valve this weekend. Good info to save me time. If you saw a black fn2 today (that sneaked down your left hand side) as you were turning right. That was me 👋🏻
I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago. Didn't notice a difference afterwards. Oil, fuel, sound.. al the same. Still better to know it's done than not right!
Yo dude, Thanks for the video! I replaced mine not that long ago but the hissing noise is still there. it also goes away if i press in the tube. You know what might be the issue. Me being unlucky getting a broken PCV valve? Or could it be anything else?
Hi, Bloody great channel 👌 I'm gonna replace my pcv Valve on my 9th Gen Civic1.8ivetec,the only difference from yours is mine is fitted vertically but is easier to access. However me being a tight arse I've ordered one from China £6.00 flea bay,my question is did you torque yours or just snug it up?
Lew, was hoping to book brands hatch in december, but lock down doesnt look good, i got a mate thats ordered a supercharger kit for his fn2, rotrex one, interested in coming track day with us sometime next year ?
Hi mate, how come you rerouted the grounds for the furl rail? Im chasing a misfire and I'm wondering if it could be a possible cause, along with the PCV valve maybe
It's known to not be a very strong point of contact on the manifold. Especially after mine was powder coated. So I moved it for a better contact point.
Unable to get that full spark plug cover like the one you have Fin as your one lets zero water in as the old cover does as I had missfire on Cylinder 2 due to water getting in not good.Have looked all over if you do find one please let me know.
@@FNLEW what's thee oil consumption on yours like m8? I've got a lower mileage one mine has only done 69k I've heard people say these cars use a lot of oil mine must be an exception to the rules it's only used 1 litre in 12 months & I've done just over 10k in it I'd say that was next to zero in my opinion
I changed the pvc valve and i still have this sound. sometimes it is and sometimes it ceases. If I squeeze and let go of the wire, it stops but reappears after a while. I have an original product. :/
@@FNLEW yes its strange cause i press the hose The noise is gone I did put a brand new genuine pcv valve in! i havent got a clue whats going on with it really
@@peterbodi3870is it making a crackling noise or just hissing? If just hissing then that's normal. Pinching it just stops the air going through as it should and of course the noise goes away. If it's not crackling then do issue.
@@peterbodi3870 yes that is normal because gas is escaping, by pinching you're stopping gas from escaping. If it makes a crackling noise then you need to replace it but the hissing is normal.

No problem! Hmmm the only other hissing sound I had was from my top pulley. Other than that I'm not sure.
@@FNLEW Thanks for the answer! Didn't expect it due to the video being this old haha!

Thanks very much! Yeah I think I just did it roughly tight. I'm sure there'll be torque specs out there though for you to go off if you wish ☺️
Great I also will be going the snug fit route less chance of shearing valve👌🤓
Hi Lew, nice build.
Just thinking of how you paint the rocker cover?
Hi mate, thank you.
I had it powder coated.
Hi Mate have you seen any improvement on fuel and oil consumption after fitting it?
Cheers
Hi mate. I couldn't say particularly no. If it does at a guess it would be that small an increment it would be barely noticeable.

Possibly mate, I'm not making any promises for anything next year yet untill we get out of this mess 😅 but thanks for the invite mate. 👍🏻
1/2 inch to 3/8 drive adapter mate. Engine bay looking great.
Thank you buddy 😁

Ok mate but water shouldn't get in regardless of the cover you'd think.
@@FNLEW cheers some FNS it does pity the luck.
How many miles is on yours now m8 engine bay looks very clean
Cheers mate. I can't remember exactly. Think it's around the 120k mark.

I wondering if you want to eliminate the balance shaft by putting on the FD2 oil pump kit?
It's not something that bothers me at the moment.

@@fanyang2553 nothing really at the minute problem wise.
Is the ticking from the engine normal? Only asking as mines sounds the same
It is common but mine is due a valve clearance adjustment so that could be it.

Nice video bud. Are you doing the valve clearances aswell? Thanks
Thanks mate. At some point I'll get it done yes definitely.
Random question but what psi should tires be on fn2 standard alloys and tires
I think it's something like 30 rear 32 front but open your driver's door and it should be on the top of the sill.

That's very strange. Maybe it's something else then.
Could you clean it instead of replacing it?
Due to how cheap they are, I wouldn't take the risk.
Ive just got a fn2 108k miles what would you get first?
All depends on budget mate. Have a look through some forums there's plenty of stuff about
