    Just found this vid looking how to sensibly get the cam cover off to do the valve clearances. Now I'm off to buy paint and new shiny bits! I know I'm late to the show, but really nice vid, well put together mate thank you.

      Thanks mate, yeah no worries… I appreciate the comments and you taking the time to watch.
      Having had the paint on for a while it hasn’t lasted as well as I’d hoped.
      Maybe a few more coats and a heat resistant lacquer would be a good idea.
      Unless you’re going crinkle finish in which case don’t worry about the lacquer 👌🏼

      I was tempted to keep it OG or even wrinkle black... but i thought black and yellow look quite nice together. Thanks for watching bud, appreciate it. :)

      No worries mate. You definitely made the right choice with that yellow 👌

    Looks great mate, is there a torque setting and tightening sequence when u bolt the rocker back down?

    • @yardspeed13
      @yardspeed13  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks bud, I think the answer to both of those questions is yes. There will be torque settings, and I’d imagine the proper way to tighten it down would be from the centre out, if that makes sense. Normally I like to use proper torque settings but I’ll admit I have no idea what they are for this, so I did it by feel.
      I’m not too worried as this is t likely to see much stress on it, unlike brake callipers or cam caps where it would be a bit silly to ‘wing it’. If you know what I mean? 😀

      @@yardspeed13 cheers mate. Yeah I'm going to do mine and I agree with u as long as there's a good gasket seal it shouldn't matter to much.

    if you attemp this job, dont get paint on the inside of the cam cover, this will flake off, then mix with the oil, then block your oil ports, then good bye engine, also smear some honda bond on the head at the 4 corners, where the seams are, or the gasket will leak, and you will have to restart the process😁

      Totally worth it, makes a massive difference to the engine bay, i'd love a K-tuned dip stick too but they're ridiculous expensive. thanks for watching. :) I've subb'd you back mate too.

      Thanks bud, yeah it’s not a bad job to be honest. I think the biggest cost (if you ignore the shiny bits) is the new seal, then the paint which was like £15 maybe £6 for paint stripper. Give yourself a day so it’s not a mad rush. Appreciate the kind words mate.🙌🏼😃
