If you were trained by *the* dark lord of the Sith, if you use the dark side, and follow the Sith way to some degree, you are technically a Sith Lord, and Kylo killed his own father which is literally a Sith rule/law. Kylo Ren is a lot more of a Sith Lord than people think.
The extent of my star wars knowledge consisted of "darth vader, death star destroy planet, luke skywalker, light sabers go zwoosh zwoosh". Time to watch them all from ep 1.
but the character also broke the story by being able to beat Vader and Luke, who are the Chosen One and the Jedi who created the New Jedi Order so he had to go
kimpy what is intresting is what would happen if the force was removed. Would light or darkness take over the universe or would the conflict continue without the force
I don't believe the first Jedi were solely devoted to the light. Perhaps they were devoted to the Force as a whole. The "dark" jedi helped to solidify the philosophy of light or dark sides of the Force. Revan is a prime example of "balance" or devotion to the Force for what it is. He was a Jedi Knight and Dark Lord of the Sith. He later renounced the divisive philosophy of "sides". Personally I believe in the energy that is the Force and that it doesn't have sides. It is simply the Force. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and resides within all things. Force=energy. What is smaller than an atom? The energy within the atom. Everything is made up of atoms so in turn everything contains energy or "the Force." You don't need powers to feel empowered by that thought.
@@lordesqueleto3976No they didn’t. There is no two types of the force. There is the light and there is a cancerous bastardization. The Sith only exist because of the great schism which caused the dark Jedi to fight against the order, they were defeated and went to the planet Korriban.
The Jedi and the Sith are both fools! Trying to understand the force by breaking the thing in half. Is like a scientist hoping to understand electromagnetics by separating the electricity from the magnetism. Folly. It is a fundamental force that operates on both spectrums simultaneously. The opposing aspects existing in an interplay. That moment you divide it is the moment you are blinded, left with only a fragment. Jedi blinded by their slave philosophy. Sith blinded by their master philosophy. For all the power these orders possessed each was no more than children playing with the lightning.
Rexus Mundi good point the force is neither light or dark but rather had aspects of both... I think the Je’Daii order were closest to the truth, to maintain balance not the supremacy of one side or another
Agreed, while I had many problems with The Last Jedi, it seemed this was one of the ideas they were trying to show. Also, "children playing with lightning" can be pretty literal in this Galaxy. 😁
Shrines, Temples, Artifacts, Books, Holocrons, the spirits of the Sith...... and curious Jedi who find these things is what keeps the Sith alive even after having suffered so many defeats.
I know this video is two years old so u wouldn’t have known but if an updated version comes out you gotta talk about dooku’s first padawan Rael Aveross
at 9:03 when you say, “after a thousand years, Darth Sidious was at last prepared…” it makes it sound like Sidious is over a thousand years old. otherwise this video - all your Star Wars lore history videos, for that matter, are excellent. stoked to watch a bunch.
Can we just take a second to appreciate palpatine literally controlling them galaxy and playing god making the two sides of the galaxy fight each other and cause chaos? Like what a fucking guy to be able to do that.
I find both the light and dark sides of the force to be too extremist in their followings and teachings. If the force itself seeks balance, shouldnt every person capable of its power subconsciously seek to control both to some extent? Grey jedi all the way over here
It depends on the writer. Some, including George Lucas himself I think, seemed to go with the idea that the Force is naturally light and the Dark side is an abomination/corruption that needs to be destroyed. Others, like you said, believe that the Force needs both the Light and Dark sides to function and that the old Jedi and Sith were too stubborn to see that.

Sidious didn't seek out maul as an apprintise as a youngling after he had killed plagueis , he already had been training maul for years but labeled maul as an "assassin" . Technically Maul only became a sith Lord after plagueis was killed
Thank you for using the right portrayal of Darth Bane I hate the clone wars version of him it's not what he looked like. He never wore robes and wasn't scrawny.
Thanks for doing this video. I was kind of fuzzy on the details of syfo dias and how palpatine came to power as the movies just kind of gloss over the finer points.
Darth Maul wasn't really a sith appretiance. He was more of a sith assassin. When Darth sidious became master, he felt the rule of two was over and replaced it with the rule of one
Hey Love how you do your vids... wondering if you planned on making the legends storyline of the new jedi order with yuson vong war followed by the fall of jacen solo?
The fact that the extended universe was for all intents and purposes rendered non-canon not with standing you forget in the comic Darth maul it shows that prior to the events of Star Wars episode one darth mual was in fact sent up against the Vigos of the black sun organisation resulting in all but one of them being wiped out they would let the sith use the merchant fleet within the black sun organisation to actually facilitate in the transport of the material needed to build the death star.
To be fair, and from what I heard of the books, Bane's student Zannah brainwashed someone else into thinking they were Darth Bane. When the Jedi showed up, they killed who they thought was the last Sith Lord, while the real Bane and Zannah escaped.
@@johnnygyro2295 Darth Bane was killed by Zannah after failing to complete essence transfer. John Morgan, Yes that happened in the 2nd book of the Darth Bane Trilogy.
Not a full Legends timeline, but I will be doing individual Legends stories about my favorite Sith like Plagueis and others. I've already covered Bane, Revan and Nihilus.
Casual side note: Obi-Wan defeated Darth Maul after the Clone Wars were long since finished, almost two decades later. This video implies that the confrontation happened during the middle of the Clone Wars, which would skew a few canon events, chronologically.
I thought the death of Plagueis came at the exact time of the duel of the fates, when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon fought Maul. If that’s correct then didn’t Palps break the rule of two?
That was in Legends. In canon, I think Plagueis died way before TPM (don’t quote me on that). Also to be fair, the Sith breaks the Rule of Two a lot in both Legends and canon. Palpatine did (at least in Legends) Count Dooku did (when he trained Asajj and Savage) Darth Tenebrous, Plagueis’ master, also broke it Hell, even Darth Bane himself broke the rule that he created 🤣
I thought that the video would be ruined when you started talking about the crap job some people call "the sequels", but it it wasn't, so good on you for that. Many people say that Rey The Identity Thief is "the chosen one", but they're wrong. Anakin was and always will be the real chosen one. He destroyed the Sith, once and for all. These wannabes like snoke and kylo ren are not sith, only dark side force users, and i'm glad you said that as well.
Well Darth Vader and Darth sidoius truly dismantle ' the rule of two '...how sith ghost bane must have felt after his rule of two was destroyed by an incompetent sith lord...

If you were trained by *the* dark lord of the Sith, if you use the dark side, and follow the Sith way to some degree, you are technically a Sith Lord, and Kylo killed his own father which is literally a Sith rule/law. Kylo Ren is a lot more of a Sith Lord than people think.
Mail surveys getting cut in half but windu couldn't survive losing and arm and falling out a window
The extent of my star wars knowledge consisted of "darth vader, death star destroy planet, luke skywalker, light sabers go zwoosh zwoosh". Time to watch them all from ep 1.
Dissapointed that the new canon didn't gave Vader an apprentice... I missed Starkiller. He was so cool. Sad that he is no longer canon...
Star killer was awesome. I hope Disney wakes up and makes legends cannon again
but the character also broke the story by being able to beat Vader and Luke, who are the Chosen One and the Jedi who created the New Jedi Order so he had to go
@@shelovesreaper5679 yeah he was too powerful for his own good

The force is the real evil of the star wars universe. The sith are only a symptom of the force
kimpy what is intresting is what would happen if the force was removed. Would light or darkness take over the universe or would the conflict continue without the force
The Force isn't good or evil. The true evil is temptation.
I see you wear Kreia's teachings.
Walamonga 1313 ask and I shall awnser hehe. But yeah I'm kreia 2.0
thats like saying drugs are menacing for just sitting around. the people who abuse them are just a symptom of the drugs
In legends the original Jedi used both the light and the dark side

The Grey Jedi are not fools, because they find balance in the Force.
I watched up until Darth Plagueis, because I’m reading the book. 😂 I’ll be back after I finish.
Excellent display of power point and very informative...thank you !!
Shrines, Temples, Artifacts, Books, Holocrons, the spirits of the Sith...... and curious Jedi who find these things is what keeps the Sith alive even after having suffered so many defeats.
P😮
We can agree on one thing. Hutt Space don't want anything to do with the rest of the galaxy 🤣
Palpatine lives! You're gonna have to update this for the sequels now
The revival of Palpatine kills the Star Wars franchise, so there is no point in updating. I'd rather deleted all material on the last trilogy.
@@АртёмДемин-э8ы I know right Cydia still being alive throws away Darth Vader's legacy
Lord2blocksx 69 you mean palpatine 🤨
To real Star Wars fans, the sequels are non canon
I know this video is two years old so u wouldn’t have known but if an updated version comes out you gotta talk about dooku’s first padawan Rael Aveross
Yep
at 9:03 when you say, “after a thousand years, Darth Sidious was at last prepared…” it makes it sound like Sidious is over a thousand years old. otherwise this video - all your Star Wars lore history videos, for that matter, are excellent. stoked to watch a bunch.
Legit the biggest mistake the Sith ever made was allowing it to be called “the dark side”...
Branding it as the side of strength and pragmatism would be better
“Shadow energy” might be cooler
It wasn't until Sidious that the Sith became good at marketing, and even then, he's the guy who approved of stuff like the "Death Star." 😁
"Hans... are we the baddies?"
@@johnnygyro2295 to be fair, he DID blow up an entire planet with it... it might be a fitting name.
Highly underrated series! Great job!
your content is the definition of perfection
Canon: Darth Vader threw the Sith Lord down a cavernous shaft to his death
JJ Abrams: Hold my screenplay.
Dark Empire happened first, so there is some precedence.
Story was put together well
Who else legit got to the force awakens cannon and was like *sigh* and changed video?
I will never forgive Disney for casting aside the REAL Darth Bane
So during the hundred years of darkness, was it a bunch of sith lightsaber dueling with jedi cuz if so we have to see a movie during that time.
This would make a terrific series. Founding of the sith.
This was simply and total incredible, Like!
Gustavo Herrera , more like misleading and dumbed down for NORMIES like you
Klidthelid please tell me you ironically used normie
This was dumbed down completely. I’m sticking to EU as canon not Disney
Alas my hunger for knowledge is over
Fine
The Hunger for Knowledge is insatiable
James.T .Adams that’s where you are right kiddo!
But wait there’s more!
Look into the (much better) legends backstory of the sith 🤫
Bane created the Rule of two, But the Philosophy behind it came from Darth Reven's Holocron, witch is almost never mentioned
Is Revan canon? If not, it makes sense why that isn't mentioned.
Gotta love the illustrations in these videos
This is a mix of canon and legends
Can we just take a second to appreciate palpatine literally controlling them galaxy and playing god making the two sides of the galaxy fight each other and cause chaos? Like what a fucking guy to be able to do that.
I find both the light and dark sides of the force to be too extremist in their followings and teachings. If the force itself seeks balance, shouldnt every person capable of its power subconsciously seek to control both to some extent? Grey jedi all the way over here
Luke Ya Father what about dark jedi
It depends on the writer. Some, including George Lucas himself I think, seemed to go with the idea that the Force is naturally light and the Dark side is an abomination/corruption that needs to be destroyed. Others, like you said, believe that the Force needs both the Light and Dark sides to function and that the old Jedi and Sith were too stubborn to see that.
Keep up the good work.
Death Trooper DT-101 he probably will continue this quality content
Great history and great video.

Episode X
THE NEW SITH
One thousand years after the Destruction of the Empire. In the charred wastes of the first order, the new republic has scattered all the remaining imperials to the outer rim.
Desperate to remain themselves strong, the imperials and renegade senate debate each other as too who will take over and bring the imperials back to power and regain control. Meanwhile, the new Jedi order established by the long ago Jedi Rey has driven out all possible Sith remnants from the Galaxy after the death too Kylo Ren.
With newer generations of Jedi in faulty bliss thinking to themselves that the dark side has been vanquished. Little did they know that a New Sith order was beginning to take shape with the mysterious yet to be seen Darth Rapturis coming out from the Shadows vowing to Avenge the Sith and Rebuild the Dark Order to it's former Glory. Seeing the Failures of the rule of two started by Darth Bane 2 millenia ago and the Rule of One started by Darth Kryatt Centuries earlier, it is that Darth Rapturis vows to forever abolish those rules as Falsehoods and Hinderence to the Sith Order. In his vows Darth Rapturis proclaims a Flawless new everlasting rule; the Rule of a Thousand Sith. In his vows he will establish a new Rule of the Darkside and Rebuild the Sith Order. With this the Restored Republic and New Jedi Order will now struggle like never before to maintain freedom and peace in the Galaxy from the Darkness and Tyranny of the Sith.......

Seems like a lot went down in 3 years, I always thought the clone wars lasted 6-7 years, makes more sense to me but hey that's just an opinion!
It's also only a few years between the Death Stars.
@@CaptinPaulx Maybe Palpatine was already building 2 from the start, that's the only way it would have been ready 3 years after the first.

Sidious didn't seek out maul as an apprintise as a youngling after he had killed plagueis , he already had been training maul for years but labeled maul as an "assassin" . Technically Maul only became a sith Lord after plagueis was killed
Thank you for this informative video. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾 subbing 😎
The sith are cool and are interesting.
Darth Mail being Powerful
Darth Tyrannus being a fallen Jedi
General Grievous being a cyborg
Darth Vader being all 3 of them
You got one thing wrong bud. Luke's uncle and Aunt were the relatives of Anakin specifically Bowen was Anakin's step brother.
Thank you for using the right portrayal of Darth Bane I hate the clone wars version of him it's not what he looked like. He never wore robes and wasn't scrawny.
Snoke had so much potential and really could have been so cool
Nothing cool about him, just a bootleg Palpatine with none of the personality.
Really hm you fans really overhyped hm you looked the mood
Who?
Thanks for doing this video. I was kind of fuzzy on the details of syfo dias and how palpatine came to power as the movies just kind of gloss over the finer points.
One of your best vids--covered a lot of ground with just the right amount of detail. Thanks.
Awesome video! It would be cool if you made a legends one as well
Amazing! Thank you!
Please Specify in the title whether this is a Legends or Disney Canon timeline video. Thanks.
Rise of Skywalker is really gonna throw a wrench in this
25:53 - seeing this part of the video after seeing Rise of Skywalker made me lmfao
Darth Maul wasn't really a sith appretiance. He was more of a sith assassin. When Darth sidious became master, he felt the rule of two was over and replaced it with the rule of one
They don’t just give the “Darth” title to assassins pimp
Can you do another star wars video but Do one with Grievous
Hey Love how you do your vids... wondering if you planned on making the legends storyline of the new jedi order with yuson vong war followed by the fall of jacen solo?
Not the whole thing but I will eventually talk about the Vong war.
Please do
Make a new one explaining the new movies!
So now I know what obi-wan is blabbering on about “there is no bla bla there is bla bla” in battlefront 2
I thought Darth Bane was killed by his own apprentice, not by the Jedi.

This has a lot of dislikes for an explainer video.. why? You did a great job explaining this, thanks again CivEx
This was fantastic thank you for taking the time to share
great stuff, needs an update as of now
Casual side note: Obi-Wan defeated Darth Maul after the Clone Wars were long since finished, almost two decades later. This video implies that the confrontation happened during the middle of the Clone Wars, which would skew a few canon events, chronologically.
ya know, its just such a good story.
I rarely get to see my first name in videos well done my young friend
I thought the death of Plagueis came at the exact time of the duel of the fates, when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon fought Maul. If that’s correct then didn’t Palps break the rule of two?
That was in Legends. In canon, I think Plagueis died way before TPM (don’t quote me on that). Also to be fair, the Sith breaks the Rule of Two a lot in both Legends and canon.
Palpatine did (at least in Legends)
Count Dooku did (when he trained Asajj and Savage)
Darth Tenebrous, Plagueis’ master, also broke it
Hell, even Darth Bane himself broke the rule that he created 🤣
@@WinduWaika
Asajj ventresss wasn’t a violation of the rule of 2 cus she was never a Sith apprentice she was merely an assassin
Still works in 2019. Thanks
He did not well explained dooku because she wasnt fully sith he was still light he just wanted to destroy the republics corruption
Dark Bane was not defeated by the Sith, he was defeated by Darth Zannah his apprecentice.
Well Darth Vader and Darth sidoius truly dismantle ' the rule of two '...how sith ghost bane must have felt after his rule of two was destroyed by an incompetent sith lord...
Thanks!
Thank you! Really appreciate it :)
Darth bane wasn't killed by the Jedi.
thats just some of that filthy disney retconning
