I just went to an arcade recently, played Daytona USA with my girlfriend because of the meme, and then she wrecked me at supersonic speeds. Thank you, Daaaaaaytooonaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! This game and song stands the test of time. I am now dedicated to becoming faster. And this song is my dream and motivation.
I still start singing this when things are getting spicy on the motorway. I hope Sega will one day bring this series back - the 360 + PS3 versions still play like a dream. A Sega arcade racing collection would be awesome.
This game was a blast to play, and the music just added to it. Few racing games have captured the sheer exuberant JOY of racing fast cars like that game.

I work at Volusia Speedway and Daytona intl speedway and this is absolutely amazing whenever I go to the track. I've watched races at Daytona on tv since I could literally walk and up to this point this is the soundtrack of the happiest times of my life. I'm a solo musician so part of me wants to cover this with acoustic guitar and vocals somehow.
I remember I was watching TB stream some DOTA2 and he had random gaming music on in the background. Suddenly, this song popped on, noone could figure out what it was, and he turned the sound to everything else down so that he could hear this. It was glorious, and I've been hooked on this song ever since.
