Not sure how you could say Beyond Light didn’t innovate. They added an entire new subclass, abilities for said subclass, came up with brand new mechanics regarding that subclass element damage type (slow, freeze, shatter, crystals), and came up with a new subclass organization structure that appears to be the basis for all subclasses moving forward.
We have clarification on the new Y5 dungeons from one of the new posts on the Bungie site. They're only accessible with the deluxe edition or an upgrade to the deluxe edition, but will become available through other means (unknown) seemingly past their initial release. To me, this says that they'll be pay timegated, who knows for how long. They did that with Coldheart, years ago, but entire dungeons? There'll be some friction on that one.
@@mrethecat9262 ...No... you got No Time to Explain as a reward for completing Beyond Light's campaign. I should know, I did it within the first week of the expansion's release and got the weapon without the Deluxe edition.
All 4 seasons come in deluxe editions of DLCs. It's probably linked to seasons. Which is why you can only get them in the deluxe edition at the moment because you can't purchase single seasons until it's closer to the seasons release.
Anyone notice that as soon as you walk into Mara sov’s chamber thru the portal that if you look up just slightly, the room looks really similar to savathun’s crown and note that her crown is not visible while she’s in her statue form.
Considering how some of the OG weapons returning from D1 got nerfed I’m a little worried for the Gjallarhorn’s return cause there’s no way it’s gonna be as broken as it was in D1
The Dungeons will not be a part of the seasonal price. The Notes said you must upgrade to the deluxe to be able to access them. But they did say they plan to add another avenue to gain access at a later date. (I would imagine before they launch)
I think you're right for the most part about Kings Fall, except I wonder if they wouldn't have to make some changes to the daughters encounter, since people have so much mobility and vertical movement now. Now, it'd be too easy to do that platforming part before the DPS phase, compared to how difficult it was for some people during the original Kings Fall raid.
I wonder if the fact that our enemies can use abilities this means in the future we’ll see NPCs actually fighting with us outside of a heavily scripted events like Ikora nova bombing and Zavala using Ward of Dawn during Red War
At the end of the broadcast there was like a sub-second showing a guardian throwing some sort of a *green* energy projectile, and it looked very super-like to me... :P
Could we discuss Savathûn’s imagery? She’s a moth, which in many, many religions and regions symbolize not only death, but most importantly in Hawaiian Folklore, relation and connection to a lost loved one. I’m starting to believe we will see Oryx again, one way or another, by the end of The Witch Queen.
@@rainygamedays5873 I think it would be cool, but it needs to make linear sense for it to work. They can’t just revamp the graphics and fix a few balancing things and cal it a day, they need to change something about for it to fit Witch Queen.
12:41 This came up today with a friend who hasn't played Destiny 2 in awhile, saw all the hype surrounding Witch Queen, bought Beyond Light because it was on sale, then bought the current season (Lost), saw Dead Man's Tale ornament in eververse and I had to tell him the only way to get it was buy the deluxe edition upgrade (another $30) or wait for it to hit the exotic archive.
My guess. They're not doing a new Darkness Sub-class because this expansion isn't focused on the pyramids, its focused on the Hive. Narrative wise, that would make sense(unless they plan to surprise us by finding it in the abandoned pyramid in Savathuns throne world). And it gives them time to tune up the light sub-classes. I imagine they dont want to swamp themselves too much with class reworks and nerfs.

@@starlightrains 1: Calling people old isn't very nice 2: Bungie isn't a crazy big company, they probably pay well but not "Rich" well, that could be a normal employee that is like 40-50
I honestly want to see Bungie go with their original plan for Kings Fall and have Phogoth and Crota be a part of the raid. In my opinion Crota's dungeon would only be good for nostalgia and that's about it if they keep it mostly the same except the fact that it's 3 not 6 people so it would be more interesting if we got to see some of their original vision for King's Fall and how it would play out.
12:54 another thing is that if you don’t have the expansion needed to do a certain activity (for example doing the hawkmoon mission) it won’t say that you need destiny 2 beyond light deluxe edition it will just say destiny 2 beyond light. So what ended up happening with me is because of that I bought beyond light THINKING I would be able to get the hawkmoon but nope and then I had to make a second purchase to get it. It’s very scummy and almost feels intentional.
I still need to see how weapon crafting works. If I can farm materials and create my perfect roles or at least increase my chance at a perfect roll then I will love it.
So wait, is Gjallarhorn only coming in the paid version? As in getting this, arguably the best, exotic will be tied to a real world payment? Not sure I like the sound of that. It makes phrases such as "pay to win" come to mind.
D1 y3 gjallarhorn was not at all arguably the best exotic in the game so I don't know why it would be in d2. Not to mention it was only arguably the best exotic in pve during its apex, in pvp the thing was a waste of a slot that was out competed almost unilaterally by other options. In the current weapon sandbox I don't see a d1 y3 esq gjallarhorn being arguably the best at all compared to other exotics. Relevant as a viable option? More then likely in pve but bungie would never let d1 y1 gjallarhorn slide again.
Not the expansion. It's just paying for a specific dungeon and ornaments. It's like paying for guardian games for the machine gun only if the machine gun was way better than it currently is. Plus I already have the season pass for the current expansion so why do I have to pay more for content that isn't even a new season?
It’s kinda fck’d up with Ghorn I’m honestly not paying $25 for a gun that free. Everything about the Witch Queen looks promising especially the Hive Guardians
Same here man, I understand putting some exotics behind a 10 dollar season pass, but to put such a iconic exotic behind a 25 dollar pay wall (that most likely has less content than a season) its super slimy
The anniversary pack is 3 months in to season 15, aka when a new season would usually start. For all intents and purposes except numbering and lore, the anniversary event is a new season.
@@collinraider6503 but with double the entry prize and not half the content of an actual season, if it was 5 dollars I wouldn't complain, but that price for just a lil something is big midle finger from bungie

Not sure how i feel about crafting raid weapons because at that point what reason do we have to raid outside of the inevitable raid exclusive exotic, as for the battle pass, i'd love for them to be retroactive. IE i own S13 and it's now 15 so if i wanted, i'd have the option to finish out the S13 battle pass. This way there's no rush to finish a given battle pass and it adds content later down the line so when we're done with S15 come December time we can round out older battle passes until Witch Queen.
Joe Blackburn said in a livestream on TwitchGaming today that they have another damage type/subclass in the works but they want to make sure that it’s finely tuned
With the light subclasses being changed to the stasis side of things. I'm wondering how the initial supers will work. Top/bottom trees are a small variation on what the super does, but middle trees can be completely different. Nova for example, you have 2 "throw and go" supers and the 1 Roaming. Would we select which version of the super we main for that build? Could we potentially have nova warp main, devour for the nade and then a bloom melee combo? Or would each super selection have a preset "X provides devour, Y provides bloom"
Im still not sure about the darkness sub classes because this would be the time to show them off but also the warlock unlocks something that looks like a green gas grenade in the trailer (which we dont currently have in the game). Maybe it is something like a cosmetic similar to the watch shown right after but its still something I'm not seeing anyone talk about.
@@JohnJohnson-ev9qn lmao what? Its a bungie anniversary celebration. Nothing to do with desperation. What do you think they are desperate about exactly?
Glad he mentioned the buying previous seasons issue. I bought the deluxe edition for Beyond Light so I had them all, but I only just recently learned about the issue with past seasons. One of my friends wanted to do the Presage mission, but didn’t own Season of the Chosen, so the only way he could access it is if he bought the annual pass, which is a lot more money than he was expecting to have to pay. I can imagine it’s not quite as easy as “just let people buy a past season” since much of that season is no longer available and so people would complain about paying full price for a fraction of the product. But they really should work something out that isn’t “you missed the last season? Too bad you gotta buy the whole year to access that stuff now”
I was so excited. Then I was told I needed to pay $25 to get the ability to play a piece of content to reaquire one of Destinys most beloved weapons...for an anniversary. Good to see you haven't changed, Bungo. Edit* Spelling.
This ENTIRE announcement was completely soured by the dungeon and g-horn costing 25 damn dollars. My friend told me about it and I genuinely thought he was lying. Turns out he wasn't. Incredibly disappointed in Bungie.
It should have really been included in the season, in my opinion. Alternatively, it could be bought seperately as suggested by Datto. Greedy shit like this is half the reason I quit during season 9 and then quit again during season 12.
4:20 I would say that you need to buy the dungeon content extra as soon as it gets released (so it will not be included in the season pass) Thats because the Deluxe Edition is 10$ more expensive than usual. (Normally you save 10$ on the deluxe edition but not this time)

Yeah that too, Heck division allows you to *choose* which perk to pick up
I think the light hive can only exist in savathun throne world. She either got the light from research in the city, from quoria simulations, she bought the deluxe edition of destiny 2 etc but she has it. What could be stopping savathun and her hive from using the light outside the throne realm is the worms in the hive and that could be why she wants them gone
Always love your takes Datto. Whether I agree or not you lay it out quite nicely
The video just dropped bro how do you even know
@@HRRYCRRYIMPOSTER he’s obviously talking about his opinion of Datto based on watching him for however long he has. I remember my first day reading/comprehending.
@@HRRYCRRYIMPOSTER just read thommy's comment. It seems you assume I mean his take on this video when I mean his takes in general. Chill out muchacho
Overall, I'm pretty excited for the Witch Queen. It being so far away though has definitely kept the excitement lower than it would have been if it were right around the corner.
Well you have time now to play Halo infinite
Yea we usually get these streams during July and the expansion releasing the fall after
@@Spartan-sz7km great point lol I didn't even think of that

Not sure how you could say Beyond Light didn’t innovate. They added an entire new subclass, abilities for said subclass, came up with brand new mechanics regarding that subclass element damage type (slow, freeze, shatter, crystals), and came up with a new subclass organization structure that appears to be the basis for all subclasses moving forward.
Here in australia the collectors edition is around $480 thats including shipping and converting from USD to AUD
So it's like no time to explain with the beyond light deluxe edition
@@TorinAst but you only need base version of beyond light to get no time to explain
@@raven75257 Not until 2-3 months ago. You HAD to have the deluxe
Holy sh*t this is such a creative way to take the story! Congrats to Bungie, you (almost) never fail to impress with these reveals!
No they’re lazy
I think you're right for the most part about Kings Fall, except I wonder if they wouldn't have to make some changes to the daughters encounter, since people have so much mobility and vertical movement now. Now, it'd be too easy to do that platforming part before the DPS phase, compared to how difficult it was for some people during the original Kings Fall raid.
I wonder if the fact that our enemies can use abilities this means in the future we’ll see NPCs actually fighting with us outside of a heavily scripted events like Ikora nova bombing and Zavala using Ward of Dawn during Red War
The glaive will be a special or kinetic as well you can see it being used with a corrective measures
At the end of the broadcast there was like a sub-second showing a guardian throwing some sort of a *green* energy projectile, and it looked very super-like to me... :P
thank you for not doing "leak" stuff. it's so hard to find nowadays. you rock!!!!!
How much you want to bet those special dungeons, one of them, is the of raid redone
The buying seasons back needs to be a thing. I miss hawkMoon
I mean you can get old seasons but you have to buy all of them, can’t choose which ones you’re missing
@@BigBoss549 yeah you can.
Can't wait to see peoples reaction!!!! When the get, nova chaos reached thundercrashed in a raid.
I really want clarification on if gally and the dungeons will always be kept behind a paywall
The reveal yesterday was pretty neat, besides the fact you need to pay to access the exotic weapon and dungeon for Bungie 30 anniversary event....
Strongly agreed with the whole figuring out what content is in what season and what I need to buy just to play it, makes it a lot more daunting trying to get back in it coming from a place where seasons weren’t even a thing
I want my Touch of Malice back in Witch Queen
100% this I want some good dps from a primary for once the power weapon is kinda old at this point
You forced me to watch your stream reacting to the WQ reveals, because I could not handle watching it audio-less on this video lmao. Nice work. And I did enjoy it
Imagine creating your own god rolls…
The Arbiters armor on the warlocks arm for 30th anniversary is pretty cool
Ah yes, “the final shape” AKA: Cubes
Appreciate Datto for actually giving his thoughts, so many other TH-cam’s just spew out the news and don’t provide any feedback 💯💯💯💯💯💯
Hopefully this leads to house light getting ghost.
(͡•_ ͡• ) Yo I’d be down for that!
You touched on it at the end. Everyone loves new stuff but if the core playlist of crucible, strikes and even Gambit don’t get some love then the play loop can become frustrating and stale. I hope they can make the necessary adjustments on this front
They did such a good job today.

I can't wait to get that Thorn armor and the new cosmetic for Thorn, my Warlock is going to be hive af with Necrotic Grip
It's just so far away. I wish it released this year at least.
hey man at least they also still got time to fix whatever they have to do to prepare that moment
Crota End was actually suppose to be the first area to TTK raid.

@@aznjay94 i am after BL so I ain't pre ordering like an idiot
I agree while this does all sound great, it's best to keep your expectations low.
It makes phrases such as "pay to win" come to mind.
the later incarnations of Gjallarhorn were NOT it. Toned down massively. Just another Rocket Launcher..
You mean buying an expansion gi es you new tools and weapons to play with? Woah, no way.
i see it sorta like a dlc or seasonal exotic quest, it is a high price tho cuz of the cosmetics which sucks
Hope everyone’s enjoying the new season and I hope your cozy in the new house datto
I like pretty much everything they've said i just think the 30th anniversary is a bit overpriced
Yeah a little bit but idc give me Gally
Yeah same
A LITTLE? bro. it’s $25 usd for a nerfed weapon that feeds off of your nostalgia, and a dungeon.
@@garrettdriscoll9364 bungie: „got‘eeeem“
If kingsfall came back, would touch of malice also return?
@@Robinthebank__ I definitely agree it’s overpriced, I should have said that. But they’re banking on nostalgia to blind people to the price, and it’s almost definitely gonna work. Scummy? Yes, to some extent, but not nearly as scummy as some other developers.
I wonder if Bungee would do the original plan and combine Crota’s End and King’s Fall
I'm going to assume that since the vex have asher and a vex ghost they will eventually roll out vex guardians
Aye man, straight up never had the GHorn drop for me. I’m straight shilling out for it
i had to preorder age of triumph so i could get iron ghorn, i could never get the original
Never even played D1 so you know I'm grabbing God it self. Wouldn't it be funny if I got TELESTO during the dungeon
Joe Blackburn said in a livestream on TwitchGaming today that they have another damage type/subclass in the works but they want to make sure that it’s finely tuned
Funny how battle field is bringing back old content of there's and now bungo is going full swing with it XD
Never played D1 when it was its time. Any D1 content they add to the game is good content for me. Let's go gjallarhorn
This is one of the stronger reasons for Gjallarhorn to come back. SIKE! Buy a PS4, buy D1, there's your gal
You don’t deserve gjallarhorn if you never got it in d1
If you have doubts about Gjallarhorn, look to the new Vex Mythoclast and Hawkmoon. They work really well. I have faith the new G-horn would be great.
This is a lot to take in also G-horn coming back makes me roll my eyes
Well fuck you, because Gjallarhorn was easily the best thing about the entire event
How many times did Bungie say Gjallarhorn wouldn’t come back
Of course they would, can you imagine how many annoying nerds would be spamming them about when ghorn is back daily if they didn't? Lol
theyre desperate after beyond light, gotta sell as many dlc copies as they can, even if it means using nostalgia bait

The next raid to be remaster is gonna be crota, but if they to on theme then it be kings wall, but I think crota would make a bit more sense possible.

glaives are frickin dope. both medieval ones and these.
My bank account is crying after all the things I’m going to buy. TAKE MY MONEY BUNGO
2:39 Void warlocks with suppression grenades and ball lightning? Void hunters with shatter dive?
This ENTIRE announcement was completely soured by the dungeon and g-horn costing 25 damn dollars. My friend told me about it and I genuinely thought he was lying. Turns out he wasn't. Incredibly disappointed in Bungie.
Yeah that kinda puts a bad taste in my mouth. I hope it's not a consistent thing because... yikes.
It should have really been included in the season, in my opinion. Alternatively, it could be bought seperately as suggested by Datto. Greedy shit like this is half the reason I quit during season 9 and then quit again during season 12.
4:20 I would say that you need to buy the dungeon content extra as soon as it gets released (so it will not be included in the season pass)
Thats because the Deluxe Edition is 10$ more expensive than usual. (Normally you save 10$ on the deluxe edition but not this time)
Story looks amazing, but I cannot grind power level anymore... datto put his finger right on the problem for me. Bungie needs to refresh the core activities... For now I'll take off my Titan's mark and take a break. I'll watch you guys stream. *titan wave*
G horn will mostly go the stasis route or vex mythoclast/xenophage route compared to its former self
Bungie brings back Ghorn and locks it behind a pay wall… perfect
I wonder what a WOTM raid exotic would be, we already have Outbreak Prime as an adaptation of Outbreak Perfected.
