I'm not sure if Cory Gardner is a qualified Senator, but I feel that I just bought a timeshare from him that I don't want.

Cory Gardner has done more for Colorado than Hickenlooper. He's brought a ton of federal funding to Colorado that has kick-started new infrastructure projects.

Terrible direction and stage management. 95% of the time you see a single shot of each candidate with a half light and half dark background splitting them in two. You only see the big sign between them for a few seconds during the entire debate. And, yes, they put up the split screen backwards.

Demanding for a "Yes" or "No" only halts any meaningful discussion and disregards any nuisance which comes with the question. We should be able to listen to their reasoning, please let them talk. I really disagree with the moderators.
Asking a complex problem requires complex reasoning and the interviewers act like both Garder, Hickenlooper, and the entire audience are all on the same page.
there is plenty of time for nuance. I think it is a great section that all debates should have. I strongly disagree with your opinion on that
I think the intention is good and should prevent either candidate from avoiding the question or giving the debater space to rephrase the question to their own liking. But the end result is that loss of nuance, and says more about the person asking the question, that they think these some of those questions are so black and white. I'm not sure what a better substitute would be, but I think that section could be removed and the debate would not suffer for it.
@@MiddleMAGA regardless of whether it's a good or bad debate structure, it doesn't work and that makes it a detriment to the debate. It is just cringey listening to the moderator try to cut them off and repeatedly saying "it's a yes or no question."
Definitely agree. Anyone who has ever had someone force them to answer a complex question with a yes or no understands that it can be impossible to accurately respond. Some questions just depend on factors that are not yet known, so you can't say either way.

Gardner claims he acknowledges climate change, but said nothing about how he would address climate change. He talks about coal jobs, but doesn't address tourism jobs, which are hurt by wild fires, drought and covid.

Cory Gardner immediately got my attention when he said isn't passing a stimulus better than not having one. People like Hickenlooper will find all the reasons not to give the Stimulus because straight all out, he does not care about the Colorado citizen. Playing politics is better off for him, so he rather always passes on passing a stimulus bill because it does not come from Democrats. You guys are the worst. To me, Democrats and Republicans work for the people. It does not matter who came out with the idea or plan, but passing bills that make sense and favor the people. Democrats have a bill that will defund our police, and this is the type of bill that Hickenlooper wants. While yes, it may be true that the bill that the Republicans have is not covering everything! But it does cover the essentials to permit that Colorado's state may continue to move on forward. It hurts me to say one job closing, of course, it hurts, and we would like to avoid this at all times, But because of not passing the stimulus bill, the ratio of losing jobs from 1 out of 100 has increased to 20 out of 100. John Hickenlooper, you don't make any sense in Colorado's best interest as a future senator.

I know people who had to skip meals for days every month to afford their Obamacare bill. I come from one of the poorest areas in Colorado, and when Obamacare passed, some of my best friends couldn’t EAT for days. Sure, it’s helped people, but it also hurt people. If the bill doesn’t help ALL Americans, it’s a bad bill.

He sounds like someone on the radio who professionally reads disclaimers as fast as possible. The only time he's concerned with people hearing what he's actually saying is when he's insulting Hickenlooper.

It's disgusting and sad that Gardner wins this debate in the minds of the ignorant masses because he is slick, fast-talking and confident in his lies and obfuscation. It doesn't even matter that he uses fiction as a weapon - after all, so does the president. Why don't they fact check these debates? I remember hearing Hickenlooper speak in 2004 when he was a scared bunny new to politics. Now he's addicted and won't leave the stage.
I think Hickenlooper deserves a chance! He was a good governor IMO! He is a good decent person ! I’m tired of the trash that we have running the country! When he expanded on Medicaid for the ACA it really helped my family and I want the ACA to continue!! Healthcare is so expensive! I used to pay 900 a month for a high deductible plan of 10,000.00 for the year! It just killed us financially!!Corey Gardner is against the ACA and the republicans had an opportunity to put forth their amazing health plan!! Oh that’s right they have no plan !! 4 years later they have no plan!!
@@jz2019 My affordable health care policy that I paid for out of my own pocket was eliminated by the ACA and replaced by high-deductible options at more than double the price. I am not eligible to live off the government with subsidized plans. No one, whether pro or con, thinks the ACA was workable.
@@lightemitting Well it helped us! And while many governor in red states did not want the ACA to work so they did not expand Medicaid! Now tell me is that a good choice for the people? Nope but it got the republicans the outcome they wanted which was failure! The sad part is that the ACA used many of the healthcare plan that republicans wanted! It was based on Romney care! So if you think your Republican candidates care about you you should think twice! They only care about power!
@@jz2019 The ACA is the precursor to socialist healthcare; it’s designed to have more people rely on the government. If that’s what you want, it already exists, and you are welcome to move to one of the many [failing] countries that has that system. Also, Americans were lied to when Obama said no one who wanted to keep their plan would lose it. Obviously that was not true. And plan costs have increased dramatically for most working Americans. That’s not a wise plan for healthcare by any measure.
