Have you ever wondered how Reaper Alliances actually come to being? I mean, we are talking about the most PvP focused faction in Sea of Thieves! Surely there are some tips on how to form such an alliance, right?

I once found a friendly newbie on the seas, formed an alliance with him and we parted ways. Later I saw someone join our alliance. I was wondering who it was, looked on the map and saw that he made friends with a level 5 reaper. Some people just have their charm.

Whew I was solo slooping totally oblivious to my surroundings and a double max reaper alliance rolled up on my little island. I was a half click away from scuttling and they were like "Yo. We're done for the day. Loot's yours." So glad I didn't scuttle lmao...

I was once sloopin with my friend, and we came across this other reaper 5 sloop. Started fighting them was incredibly even matched, and was fighting for an hour and a half 😂
Then we both ran out of supplies and started launching fireworks until we brought our ships together and had a laugh. We ended up joining an alliance together, knowing neither side could sink the other 😂 definitely the best experience I've had on the seas
That sounds like a dream 🥹 it's my first week playing I've been slooping as a blood thirsty solo reaper. It's good to hear ppl are still having fun in 2022.

Not that long ago, my friend and I hoped on Sea of Thieves (which I’m back into now since I’ve found these videos). We raised the Athena Emissary and set off to take down a Skeleton Fleet to raise our emissary status.
We managed to take down 2 Skelly ships before I spotted a Reaper beelining it for us. Thankfully, they were just another Sloop and, us not really having anything we turned to fight them. It was a fairly even match up, neither of us able to sink the other despite the barrage of cannon fire from the Skeletons. I was actually onboard the Reaper Sloop when my friend shouted about a new contender: A Reaper Galleon had rolled up on our battle and decided to introduce themselves by laying into the Reaper Sloop with cannons. I was in the water dueling one of the Sloop crew members and mid-swing of my sword I told them about the Galleon and offered a partnership to take down a mutual threat. They agreed a moment later when, like I said, the Galleon laid into them with cannons. With a freshly made alliance forged in the heat of battle, I climbed aboard the ship I had been trying to sink only a moment before. I helped them repair before returning to my ship where 2 Sloops, Athena and Reaper, turned as one to face down a Reaper Galleon.
With our forces combined, we significantly outmatched the Galleon crew. It didn’t help that they were fighting 2 competent Sloop Crews at once. They couldn’t really target either of our ships with their superior broadside without leaving themselves vulnerable to cannon fire and boards from the other. The hardest part was honestly boarding them. Not that the Galleon crew were great fighters, actually it was more difficult because the Sloop we allied with had boarded the Galleon at the same time as me, and since we hastily allied with a verbal agreement mid-battle, we obviously didn’t have the time to raise an Alliance flag. I definitely wound up killing an ally or two as we all fought on this Galleon. But in the end, we did manage to sink the Galleon and continued fighting together on the server until our allies got off. And then got immediately rolled by a Reaper Brig of toxic, Double Gunning, PvP sweat lords. Still it was fun while it lasted…
Dang that must’ve felt like war. I can even imagine me seeing all that from like 2 miles away. Plus you put the Athena flag pretty much stating that you were seriously acclaimed to that fight

This reminds me of the time when i had epic duels against other rein once and we teamed up afterwards for some great games
Not even kidding, when you said 2 reapers were battling at the fort in the video, my mind immediately went to Free Mason and others and was instantly thinking of an epic battle of content creators.
When I was a reaper I was with my friend and we were a reaper 5, when I was looking around for people to fight I found a reaper 3 and when I came up on them they shouted about them being friendly, and it turns out they were. We ended up forming an alliance and then we got a ton of other crews for the Glitterbeard achievement, the reaper 3 ended up kidnapping some guy and his ship, but he was afk
I remember when I was running reapers for the first time with some friends on a brigantine. We got to reapers 4 and got attacked by another brigantine led by a fat Jack Sparrow, they chased us from the red sea to Reapers where we wanted to sell. After a while we fought back but when we were about to win they got away. We started going to Reapers Hideout which wasn't far and we saw a reapers 1 but didn't think much of it. We sold some of it but fat jack sparrow was coming back and I was alone on the ship while my friends were selling the loot so I died. Things didn't seem that bad but then my friends died and our ship sunk. We immediately tried to go back but when we checked the map the reapers 1 was now a reapers 4 and fat jack sparrow was also a reapers 4. We didn't think much of it because one of them would sink when they fought but after a while we realized they were in an alliance. When we got to reapers hideout they killed us easily and we kept coming back like 3 times. Eventually a friend and I got some gunpowder barrels and the reaper alliance who were both reaper 5 at this point started to move away to fight flameheart. I picked up a gunpowder barrel and jumped onto one of their ships, I lit the fuse and they started to sink. But our brigantine was fighting the other reapers and we sank as well. I was sitting on the loot from the first ship and managed to get their reaper 5 flag (fat jack sparrows)...... ok im tired of typing now imma leave
If you’re a reaper and you see someone with the alliance flag just form an alliance as you pass them so you can keep an eye on them from afar

You shouldnt ever chase them into the water. If you get hit reged or just miss your shots and they get on your ship, they will have a massive advantage over you. Just wait for them to climb back up. You can hear them grab the ladder.
I remember one time I had a heart pounding experience with a level 5 reaper gallion chasing me. I was all alone in my little sloop and just kept salling away and this went on for several hours and I kinda just said fuck it and dropped anchor, only to have them join an alliance and ask me to help them with a quest. I don't remember what quest it was but man was it fun. Suprise suprise, that was the only friendly encounter I've had with a reaper ship.

Like you I've ran into the player "Liars's Dice" he was a horrible profane spawn killing camper that got his jollys from greifing people and throwing the crap overboard. Funny thing though is when we went after him for revenge he folded like a wimp same as he did to you haha at least he's getting his own medicine, thanks for not letting up on that salty foe!

It wasn’t until I watch this video that I realized when the text scrolls on the screen it means I’m changing servers forcefully. I had no idea what that message meant before now so I’ve only played the game for four sessions.
I talked my way out of being destroyed at a fortress by lvl 5 reapers. I said that I was new and my friend went AFK and that they can take the loot if they want, but they just helped me finish the fortress and got all the loot on my ship and left. I love the SoT community.
They were already attacking my ship stopped by the fortress too. So I could say I got max charisma on this game

I think throwing the alliance flag up immediately is actually a good decision on the gold and glory weekends which is what I’ll do when it starts as it makes it so I can get some extra loot and honestly I think then is when people actually work together and will always form alliances only really fighting over world events ie this time it will be fofs and maybe fotds

It was my second time playing sea of thieves and i saw a ship with a stack ton of loot. it was a brig with 3 people and i was solo. me being stupid i boarded there boat and shot one dead and then i had a cutlass battle with the other two and won so i put all of the chests in the water and shot them with cannons (my ship was very close to theirs) and sunk it. and then i sold all of the loot at got like 1 million gold.

At the end of one of my solo sessions, I sneaked up on a nearby brig at Ancient Spire Outpost. My goal was to test something simple: to see if I could raise their alliance flag so we can be friends! (No, it doesn't work.) I also like to hand off my supply crate(s) before I leave.
They were apparently five-star Reapers, which I only realized after I climbed the crow's nest.
I dropped down on deck and started playing my concertina just in time for them to return from some treasure selling. I think they were impressed that I was able to sneak aboard without either of them knowing, because they wanted ME to take the rest of their treasure! They convinced me to be a Reaper emissary (my first and only time), touch every bit of treasure on their ship to "steal" it, thus leveling my emissary status, and sink their ship to also take their Reaper banner.
It was the largest token of awesomeness I have ever witnessed, although I was very confused and worried the entire time. They left after their ship sank, leaving me alone with a lot of loot to take aboard. They had so much of it left that it leveled my flag to rank 4 and a half.
(I wonder if part of their charity was because they really had to leave and didn't want to deal with all that treasure so far away from the Reaper's Outpost.)
Alas, I saw another ship heading towards me. I left roughly a fourth of the treasure behind to head towards the Reaper's Outpost. Unfortunately, this was the same direction as the approaching ship.
In the end, they caught me. The buggers had FOUR PEOPLE on a SLOOP. One at the helm, one at the cannon, one at the harpoon, and one flying in the air towards me. Needless to say, I lost all that loot and didn't play for a week or so afterwards.
Sometimes I really hate this game.
I had a legendary day on the seas last night, my 2 man sloop, a galleon, and another sloop allied and pulled over other ships and looted them, we then all went on a 8 man sloop

Fighting other pirate legends is great, Like today I was doing merchant emissary and doing committees where you go from outpost to outpost, I’m a pirate legend btw, another pirate legend gold horder emissary chasing me for no reason and tells me he’s good, he was lying I didn’t fall for it, chased me for 10 minutes and he tried to harpoon my boat I blunderballed him tried it again I shot him with a sniper, did it again I lasered him with cannons, after about 15 mins, I brought him to an Skelly fort with a brig, brig started chasing him while he was chasing me so I jumped off my boat and shot him off his boat lowered his anchor and fireballed his boat, he started saying my boat was sinking by a galleon he was lying, started talking crap, brig comes and fires on his ship and I keep saying yeah destroy his ship, he then started to be toxic and called me fat and to lose weight, told him to fack off, I mermaid back to my boat, mans got salty because of Instead of sinking me he just failed and lost his progress and is butthurt about it, PS I tried to be friendly but he’s just wanted to sink me, don’t mess with friendly merchants, never got to say thanks to that brig
The real joke is he actually chased a merchant emissary ship. Usually no one chases merchant ships unless you doing sunken ship cargo manifest quests as the loot is mostly perishable or has low value. The gold hoarder guy must be an idiot.
@@vivekjk6729 dude it happened to me again, but I would understand if they were Reapers because that’s what they do but having gold horders chase me for zero reason but to sink me, like my goal as a merchant is make as much profit so I like to make alliances but these guys want nothing but to fight, makes no sense.

Last night I had a 3 brig reaper alliance it was ridiculous
Got in a fight with a grade 5 reaper the other night. I had 4 forts worth of supplies then another reaper grade 5 showed up and joined the fight about the only time me and my buddy ever fired both cannons on the sloop. Long story short the reaper crew that we where initially fighting asked for an alliance to sink the other reapers. We said sure if they where up for doing a few more forts then staying in the alliance until we sold everything. Made some new friends.
Yesterday I sailed the Reaper emmisary I was 10 mins in and ran into a Lv5 Reaper, and said I wanted to join them in alliance. They agreed even though I was solo slooping and they were a full Galleon, after a bit one of my friends joined me and we took on the other Athenas alliance that formed with a Galleon and 2 brigs, came out on top and stole about 1M worth of loot. The Galleon crew said that the name and look of my sloop was very appropriate for how I played, her name is "The Iron Reaper", I use the "black pearl" hull, wheel, and figurehead (idr the actual name of it off top of my head), kraken cannons and flag, warsmith sails.
Normally I don't alliance up since I never trust anyone in the game and play for pvp but I wanted a change of pace for a session or two and it actually worked out. It was nice also not running Into extremely toxic players for once and getting irritated enough to where I started being toxic back to them.
today as a solo sloop i alliances with level 5 reaper galleon they helped me get gold for my on ship and i’m now also one step closer to pirate ledgend

One day I found some newbies and I was willing to help them by allianceing with them gave them so resources and some loot and some toxic galleon pirate legend Athena who prayed on new players but when it came to me they couldn't sink my crews sloop me with assistance of my friend and the alliance had no problem sinking them so just a note to people who sink any vessel they see I know it's not sea of friends but ever now and then just pass through I cant stop you from being pvp hungry but be merciful now and then

I made it out save but sometimes it's good just to think what can happen, I known to overthink by my friends but sometimes it good to overthink in this game. Now when a alliance person pulls up I make the move even if they just wanted an alliance but I better be safe than losing my progress, I mean I would love to have more players to play with but sadly only one of my friends has the game and rest of them I just stream it for them.
yea, Cliff got lucky in this game. I have had bitter tales with alliances before. Unless you on discord servers, you can never be too sure.
The reaper alliance guys could have betrayed you guys at the end by blowing up an athena keg. That has happened to me numerous times.

Reaper alliances make me salty. And I play nearly exclusively as a Reaper with my crew. We make it formal policy to sink all other Reapers on a server first thing we raise the emissary. Most run away at the first sight of another Reaper that does NOT want to ally with them.
Even observing them from afar, they often kite civilian ships without every committing to a fight. Like small irritating dogs.

I teamed with a reaper sloop and ran into an enemy brig. I asked for help and the brig was dead in 2 minutes

I highly doubt they built in a jam mechanic for guns in melee range. Is there a statement from Rare about that?
@@Malhaloc 2 patches ago they made it so if you ads with a gun and get sword sliced you stop adsing. The last patch they got rid of it as people rightfully complained about it
@Joe Mama Rare realised that the cutlass being the most used weapon but not the most successful PvP weapon isn't because it's underpowered, but because ammo was so scarce in PvE.
