3rd generation veteran here. Grandfather fought in WW2 in Germany. Started on the beaches of Normandy. My father in Vietnam. Myself in Iraq, this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you. I'm 52 . I served in the Army during the 90's.
Our drill Sargents during basic would make us sing this every night before lights out. For 4 months , thankfully, I knew the song well.

Started my military career in the Navy. I remember that moment well. Standing in the room with the TVs, playing the song, the RDCs shaking our hands, I was one of the many that couldn’t hold back the tears. Saw your comment and just wanted to say thanks, it was many years ago but forming civilizations into sailors, marines, soldiers and so on is critical.
