Yeah this part spoke to me on a primal level. I'm a very mild mannered person but I have to shove this part of me deep down in my consciousness to avoid getting irrationally angry.
Holt is such a great character. I love how he gets progressively more wild as the series goes on, because he finally feels like he can be himself, try new things and not be judged. He’s been repressing himself for decades and finally feels safe enough to cut loose in front of his new family.
Forgot the scenes in season 6, episode 5 where the squad takes on the firefighters in a drink off at Shaw’s Bar to get the highest bar tab by closing time & Holt returns after initially leaving to help the squad win by buying bottles of wine & talks about how the wine is affecting his vision, speech “....To put a fine point on it, your boy is turnt” before he chugs a full bottle in less than a minute to win for the squad & then makes a speech before throwing up mid-way through it
A lot of ppl are commenting that “BOOOOOOOONE” should’ve been here (and they’re absolutely right) but y’all are forgetting him and Amy competing speed reading which wasn’t as wild per se but it’s another instance of him being insanely competitive which I think should count
I’d just like everyone to acknowledge how good of an actor Andre is - he really pays attention to how Holt would act/say/do certain things. When Jake moves the podium you can see his steps were slightly off at the end at 2:33
This makes me realize, Kevin was right all along, Ramond IS funny. He just doesn't show it to his colleagues coz he used to be harassed for being black and gay--thus he always present himself as a very serious person
As you can see, the monitor was clearly sufficient to break the glass. To have used something heavier would have been disproportionate and excessively uncouth for what the situation required. Classical music.
My favorite part about the podium prank clip is that after the intro, holt is in a phonecall with Kevin telling him about the prank and how great it was 🥺
Crafting a special high five with everyone except Jake was the perfect punishment for him! 😅 Who would have thought a boss would deal with their non punctual employee like that! Hats off to the writers!
@@rosegroshek1218 sounds perfect for a show about police during a time of civil unrest and increased distrust in the police. If you would rather they ignore the world around them and just make a show about Fun Cops, then I don't think you're their target audience anyway

Holt is one of the funniest characters in sitcom history, which is especially awesome since he originates from fully hilarious show with tons of funny characters.
