This is one of the best hard mode playthroughs I have seen of Einhander. I'm particularly pleased to see the player utilize the Wasp to shoot down targets that are in the background. So many ignore that feature of the missile launcher. I wonder if someone will ever upload a playthrough using the Schwabe (police car.)
The Schabe plays like a traditional shmup ship, and it is by far the weakest of the ships. The advantage though is that you don't have to worry about running out of ammunition.
That was an impressive playthrough. Also, at 49:38 Nice shout out to Kingdom Hearts III for adding the Einhander references. As well as having the Schwarzgeist as a secret boss in the Gummi Ship fight. And the Endymion as Gummi Ship. X3
Legit the second I noticed by stage 1 you already cashed out x16 -6- times, I kinda knew this was going to be a legendary run. If anything I'm only sad even with boss clears THAT fast, that just because you took an extra 2 seconds on Stage 5's boss, that's what made it A rank instead of perfect S ;w; But hot dang all Skill Points, and unlike many others who take stage 5 as a "Just clear it to live" for single segment vids, you just outright slam dunked on it. Really solid run overall, thanks for the upload!
I've watched a lot of playthroughs and this one is by far my favorite. The way you unload weapons is not only incredibly satisfying, but also how I pictured Einhander would actually fight in-universe. You use the more plentiful, conventional weapons (cannon, hedgehog, wasp) to absolutely wreck the enemies and bosses... the other playthroughs I've seen utilize more uncommon weapons while having to conserve their ammo. I love the idea that the more enemy armaments that get thrown at the Einhander, the worse of a disaster it becomes; you really exemplify that. What a great game!
Man, you're an absolute GOD at this game. I loved it so much as a kid. Had a PS1 demo disc and played the demo for it over and over again until dad bought me the game. I never could beat it, but I loved it a lot. I always stalled out in stage 4. I did eventually beat it in my early 20s, but I had to use save states for the last stage. I need to go back and beat it legit sometime.
This sound effect in 2:01 was in my mind since 2007-8 i remember I was searching for the game, but now so sure if the game was this, but when i listened this tiny sound effect, bang, it is it! Thank you
My grandfather had the demo for this game at his house on his PlayStation, which I didn't have as a kid. I had a Sega at my house at the time, was lucky to be able to play Sonic and Sonic alone. From age 6 to 9, every time I'd boot up a new game in his funny living room corner setup, little did I know I was experiencing some of the most unadulterated and purely happy moments I'd ever feel. I was very sheltered by Seventh Day Adventist Doomsday cultists, so when I did get exposed to something like this, it really left an impression. Something that wasn't purely demonizing mankind , or encouraging immediate preparation for the coming Advent, or ensuring we did what it took to get God's good side and be spared the fire and brimstone that'd rain down from heaven. When I wasn't having my life wasted with that nonsense as a child, I was able to enjoy things like that Einhander demo for Gfather's PS1. I greatly appreciate people like you with the skill to be able to showcase a game in its full glory for those of us without the time , patience, skill, and setup to do it first hand. I may have never made it past the first stage as a kid, but I get immense satisfaction knowing others certainly did. And maybe someday, I'll set myself up with Einhander and see how it feels after all that time. Nice to have things to enjoy now, nice to have things to look forward to to enjoy later. Thanks again:)
Understand: Your pilot was sent on a suicide mission solely to gather data for the AI planes. And then the leaders tried to kill them by sending them on more suicide missions. Over and over and over again. And they FAILED. Realizng that if this keeps going they're going end their little war economy, yoir leaders took matters into their own hands and thought that they could send the AI copying you in other planes to kill you. Except for one problem: You've never fought anything as good as you, so their robots can't do crap to you. So they failed again. FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH. You then wage a secret rebellion basically all on your own, go up to your previous commanders and unload all of your weapons in their face. And then, out of spite and anger at what they've done, turn on the entire armed forces of your moon. AND THEY STILL FAILED TO KILL YOU. You fought a planet... And won. AND SURVIVED. Your pilot is an utter chad here.

I first found out about Einhänder when I played a disc containing demos for upcoming games. I still have the disc to this day. While I would love to have a physical copy of the full game, I’m not going to fork over $300 for a disc. Instead, I discovered a free emulator of the game online. After years of waiting, I’ll finally be able to experience Einhänder like it was meant to be.

This brings back a lot of memories too bad this game doesnt have a sequel maybe its one of the hardest back then i remember playing this for 3 days just finish it haha! Hes really God on this game and i bet he unlocks the secret celene ship at the end finishing hard mode and no shot downs
I'm scratching my head here bit because I didn't remember all the bosses as having "polizei" labels and blue armor - I remembered most of them having a military theme - from skimming some other longplays, I can see the original version. This game didn't appear to have a PAL release, so I'm trying to figure out if there was a repressing of the disc that came out later with some minor changes, they have done that before for other games. *Edit* Looks like there were two "JP" releases, with the second one actually being a Hong Kong "Asia" version, but also in English I guess. Is that what you are playing here? SCPS-45125?
Oh I think i know why some bosses/enemies have different skins, it's because he's getting all special bonuses, one of them unlocks the secret path on the beggining, some makes special enemies spawn, sometimes they have of the few rare weapons (Juno, Mosquito, etc), and, one of the consequences are the boss skins, the final boss of stage 1 normally has a Beige/green camouflage, doing the special bonuses makes him appear with that Grey skin on the video.
Damn dawn you're a straight up g! I couldn't get passed the 3rd stage without my GameShark. You went atw beast mode on those bosses. Could you do a playthrough where you dismantle each destroyable part on every boss? For example if you blow off all the first mini bosses arms he brings out a flash like beam weapon out of his head and holds it with both hands if I remember correctly. Great skills and thank you. BTW how can I play this game nowadays? I do not own a playstation so I doubt I can.
@@DawnHibiki haha back in 99 - 03 I had a playstation that I could play copied games off. My mom bought us the ps and probably 75 games that were all burnt. I used to try and build the bosses out of my kinex. On the boss that's rolling up the ramp otw to the giant rocket I always heard him say "I'll scalp uhm" lol eventually that ps shit the bed and by that time ps2 and Xbox were out. Still very very few games had had the magic of this one. Man a reboot on modern hardware would be amazing.
@@DawnHibiki hey dawn can you do another playthrough where you destroy all destroyable parts on every boss? Like the aforementioned blue mini boss and his beam weapon? But I want to know can I get a copy of the game on the playstation store? The game is super expensive on eBay like a 190 to $200.
I've tried to watch all the playthroughs....and I am trying to locate the OST here in Japan (used, of course). There are few shooters better than this one.
Preview the world of the future with EINHANDER! an anthology musical film of an autistic pilot fighter who discovers an evil faction in Israel working with Chinese Communists, Adolf Hitler, Himmler, and the Nazis, to enslave the world via an army of mecha robots. After disabling the one belt, one road slave train, the pilot discovers a secret Israeli-Chinese deep underground base building an army of mecha-robots to take over the world. Note that all bosses are reoccurring leaders from the nazi party, most often Adolf Hitler and Himmler, who usually conveniently escape in escape pods and give motivation for the player to continue fighting enemies. The game ends in a peak experience fighting advanced mecha-robot space nazis who are the final boss, that randomly shifts into a Scarface ending theme replica, or fan-made theme for scarface or whatever, that was, however, somewhat enjoyable.
