  • It's not very often you get to see one 1983 FJ40 with OEM power steering and air conditioning, let alone two of them. When we got the opportunity to put two of them in the showroom at the same time, we couldn't resist documenting the occasion. Plus, we cruise the shop checking out all of the other awesome projects going on at Proffitt's Resurrection Land Cruisers. Please watch this and all of our other episodes for the best Toyota Land Cruiser content on the internet!

    In 1983 I bought my first Toyota. A 1979 4wd pickup. I haven't owned any other manufacturer since that time. Another great video.

    I was married in 1983, am still married to the same person all these years later! She is very patient. Carroll Shelby hooked up with Lee Iaccoca at Chrysler in 1983 also, not Toyota related but automotive trivia.

    1983 was the year of the great floods in Salt Lake City. It was also the year Wagstaff Toyota of Salt Lake sold a 1983 FJ40 that I owned for just over a year back in the 90's. I sold it for $3500.00, and thought I had made a great sale 🤢😭

      Riding to SEMA right now with an employee from Salt Lake. He is telling me about how they ran the water down the middle of State Street with sand bags. Sorry to hear about your 83. I've regretted selling lots of Land Cruisers...but you win.

    Jeremiah, seen plenty of you tube videos on pre-load. The bigger the tire the greater the pre-load as they say. So for my tire size: 31 x 10.5 x 15 pre-load should fall where? Right now it’s set at 10. I’m sure once on the road it will loosen up a little. So I’m thinking I should probably set it at 13 or close to it. You say what? Thank for your tech tips, keep the videos going.

    Interesting video, Thank you. It’s great to see the FJ40’s being brought back to life. Which headlamps were you installing on the Sea Foam Green FJ40?

      They are Rigid Truck Lites. The best 7" round headlights there are IMO

    Awesome episode. I have 1 of the 48 83’s with factory PS/AC. I purchased it about 18 mid ago. Previous owner is deceased so not a lot of info came with it. Question I have is mine has a 5 speed manual transmission. Was this a factory option at the time?

    • @procruiser
      @procruiser  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm pretty sure The H55F was never sold in a US spec Land Cruiser. It had to have been added.

      Thanks. That’s what I thought. Another question regarding my 83. It currently has the factory carb but I am very tempted to put the Holley sniper efi kit on it ( my 78 has the sniper ). Would this be a bad move in your eyes? I really like the performance of the sniper kit.

      The very last Japan built 40s had a five speed. Happen to have one in my shed. Runs great and fuel consumption is lower

      @@tomasarndt8139 I've seen 2, but they were both imports. Was yours sold new in the US? Someone around here I've got a transmission cover with the hump in it from an 83 with a factory 5 speed.

      The truck was built in Japan and is a European spec vehicle. I am located in Switzerland and so is the truck. Sadly I have to sell it due to health reasons, already sold my FZJ80 and VDJ200.
