also one of the mechanics is my dad, a heavy duty mechanic with over 25 years experience, so im gonna take his word for it when he says the 4.3 is a good engine. another is his co-worker whos had chevys all his life and rebuilds them all the time.
Nice, ive got a 97 ls 2 door. Only issues ive had was a head gasket blew. How im not sure the last owner did it and i got it like that. I fixed that and no problems so far after that. Great truck and parts are cheap i got a new head for $480 shipped to my door which is nothing for a new head i could have got a Junk yard one for less then 100 but i figured with it being so cheap why not. I've got 209,000 on her now with no issues.
they like to self destruct? really because i know alot of mechanics and some of them say the 4.3s are reliable engines. ive got a 96 jimmy with 300k and its running fine without a single rebuild yet.
MINT FOR 80 YERAS?!?!?!?!? where in a fuckin showroom?? im not talking about show cars that sit in a fuckin garage, im talking about bush/ work trucks. trucks that can actually be used for work. trucks that have been shit driven and USED to the fullest. no one is gonna put a 1 ton farm truck in a garage to preserve, theyre gonna put it to work because thats the reason they bought it. id like to see a 1930s chevy without rust that hasnt been rebuilt or sat in a garage for 50 years.
he rebuilds TRUCKS, not show cars, they dont exactly last 80 years if you actually put them to use(which means u actually have to throw shit in the bed, or use the 4x4)
@theoriginalmodz haha i finally took my stock 4x4 97 blazer out wheeling, i was suprised with the shit i could climb and get through untill i finally got stuck. but got out. got to see my blazer flex a shit ton like yours haha looks cooler then shit
yeah i know they are a sbc with 2 cyls chopped off. that's exactly what they told me. and really? because ive seen quite a few with 400-500k mine is one that ive seen go 300k without a rebuild. idk what 4.3s youve had to deal with but all the ones ive seen run fine, havent seen one blow up yet so i have no clue what youre talking about.
right or wrong doesnt change my opinion, as far as i know all the 4.3's ive seen run and still do run fine. but maybe thats because they knew how to maintain a vehicle. which means changing a gasket before you blow your engine. most of the time a gasket will leak and you will see that your block is wet. doesnt take genius to look under the hood,.
thats pretty nuts for what appears stock. nice!
