Just to make clear for any psychologist with European clients or psychologist based in Europe, I'm pretty sure all of those platforms would be a violation of the data protection laws, because they are not private and the companies behind would likely have acces to the data you share. You would essentially be sharing your clients data with a 3 party which is not legal if you have European Clients. Best to check with a legal rep. regarding GDPR.
Thank you. You don't explain what a BAA is. I think that would be helpful for people who haven't seen your previous videos, such as me, and I'd understand, better, what all the facilities are. I'm looking forward to watching more.
Thank you again for your awesome videos! Have you ever thought of using gsuites as your ehr for client notes? I’ve been reading articles and it looks like it’s hippa compliant I also started using google meet for online counseling after your last video on how to do the BAA with google...I would love to stop using simple practice and paying extra money as well as using multiple systems for my practice 🙄 just hoping for some feedback thanks again!

Hey, Marie, thank you so much for the valuable information you provide. The agency where I work is trying out ZOOM Telehealth and Clocktree to see which one works better for clinical staff as well as our clients. So far, the best experience has been with Zoom. We are having lots of problems with Clocktree to include connectivity issues, clients being deactivated without our knowledge and of course then having to reactivate them. Many of clients have indicated problems in signing up when we send them invitations. Clocktree does respond quickly to our issues and many of th do get resolved. For my private practice, I am using the free version and have not experienced problems yet probably because I have so few clients and our appointment times seems to be good times. I didn't know about Google meet so plan to check it out since I have my BAA with gsuite. I love your videos and I followed most of your advice when I launched my private practice in January 2020. Thanks for your commitment to helping other clinicians start and grow their private practices!

Why is there such a gap between earnings for therapists on apps like betterhelp while in-person therapists make 3-4x more? Many (not all) seem to have similar education as well.
Great question! I have a video where I talk about BetterHelp. In short, apps like BetterHelp charge much less from clients and also take a significant cut of the revenue before paying a therapists. Generally, therapists meeting in-person or running their own online therapy practice charge much more

I'm using the video platform from Simple Practice and I just pay an extra $10 a month for it on top of what I pay for simple practice EHR system. It's easy to navigate and send video link to clients, so no issues. I got disconnected a couple times today which I think is caused by my internet connection problem....so not too sure if it's the platform's connection issues itself. Anybody had issues with it? I haven't used it that long....a newbie with video visits in private practice.
