The 1st iteration of this blade, by Reate, was a full sized blade (3.75''). The M stands for Mini, which is smaller (2.95") and was also the 1st iteration to have a safety lock and clip. They've just recently brought out the OG Exo, which has a Coping blade (3.75") which includes the lock, but no clip.
I saw that OG! Just waiting for a different blade shape
The M stands for the locking mechanism. The original didn't have have a locking mechanism. They make a mini but it's specifically called the exo m mini.
The M is for Midsized...there also a Mini version that is even smaller.
If you actaylly ge3ip the knife as if you were using it, locked of not, there is little to no blade play. As an otf there is necesaary blade play. I have Mimi, M, amd OG amd woth a good grip there osless blade play tham all the mocrotechs i have

Got a clone of this for $50 off Amazon, locks up rock solid, no rattle. D2 blade with aluminum/G10 handle. It's just as good as the original, in my opinion, for a fraction of the cost.
