ahhh noooo i loved once upon a broken heart, i think a big part of that was i genuienly enjoy garbers writing PLUS JACKS was my favourite character from caraval! will you read the sequel coming out in 8 months? its called the ballad of never after! love you xx
Is Jacks a prevalent character in the Caraval series? I’ve only read Once Upon A Broken Heart and I’m tempted to read Caraval just for him, but I’m not going to bother if he’s only a minor character that just happens to be mentioned once lol
@@bellanovella3752 okay so carval has three books and the first one is truly really good the whole plot is intriguing, garbers writing id say was even better than once upon a broken heart and i was very invested however Jacks only appears in the second and last book, i wouldnt say he was part of the main main cast nonetheless i think he as a character was so magnetic that you dont really mind that hes not in as many scenes which in turn made me antecipate any chapter he appeared in. i deffo suggest you read caraval because jack and his love interest was my favourite part to read though lmao before i knew jacks would get his own story i was extremely mad at the ending of caraval and so i rewrote the last book, but lol now im just ranting hahah but to conclude this pointlessly long parapgrah and answer your question hes not mentioned once but hes also not always there, less mentioned in the last book id say but honestly i would read caraval if i were you especially because you can distract yourself and fall in love with him again whilst we wait for the second book to come out in spetember plus you see a side of him in finale (the last book of the caraval series) that we do not see from OUABH though hopefully we will soon when the ballad of never after comes out, but anyway ahahhaha YES READ CARAVAL HES NOT IN THE FIRST BOOK AT ALL BUT ITS WORTH IT I PROMISEEE PROMISE PROMISEEE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU GOT AS OBSESSED WITH HIM AS I DID!
If you'd like to read a historical fiction set in a curiosity shop I would recommend Magruder's Curiosity Cabinet by H.P. Wood. It's set in 1904 on Coney Island and follows group of lovable characters solving a mystery and fighting social prejudice. I really enjoyed it
I read Isn't It Bromantic? back in November and I absolutely loved it. One of my favourite books in the series. I hope Lyssa Kay Adams does another sequel because its so brilliant. I am definitely going to re-read the series again 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I loved “Firekeeper’s Daughter” I ended up passing it on to a friend who has Native American ancestry, because she’s always looking for more representation
I also read Six Crimson Cranes in January. I really enjoyed it and whilst I guessed part of the twist, it was great to see something a little different.
hailey i think your books order arrive quite fast that's why you are into so many books soo far this year.... my book orders arrive in almost over 2-3 months.
i’m currently on my fifth book this year, so far i’ve read one of us is lying, before the coffee gets cold, beartown, will grayson will grayson and you!
I have both Six Crimsin Cranes and Firekeeper's Daughter and I am looking foward to reading them I hope to get ones like Once Upon a Broken Heart and White Smoke in the future... actually, there's a LOT I would like to get 😅
I love how you love historical fiction! It's one of my favourite genres aswell, but not that many booktubers talk about it. Have you read Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi already? It's one of my favourites 🥺
Please read Finvarra's Circus is a book that is not popular nor the author but its such a gem. The story follows a girl who has a sickly broken heart when one day she heards that the circus is coming to her town so she decides to go and see if it's as magical as the people around her tells.
I feel the same about SCC. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. I haven't read anything by this author before so I didn't know what to expect and actually had to google what the big shock at the end was about.😅I know it was about Shiori and her struggles but I really would've liked to see more about the brothers... and the dragon. Still enjoyed the book though!
@@exploringmegan same!! It felt so obvious from the beginning, and she was kinda flirting with him too… maybe in the sequel they’ll get together but I honestly doubt it because of the other guy (his name escapes me)
@@emilyroberts2717 I know! I'm kind of hoping she'll end up with the dragon in the sequel, but I doubt she will. They would be SO cute though. She's cute with Takkan, too, but I just think the dragon/human relationship would be so interesting, and I like their banter. Have you read Spin the Dawn?
@@exploringmegan exactly! And no I haven’t actually (that’s why I had to Google the “twist” at the end - and tbh I didn’t really like that). I might pick it up eventually but who knows😅my tbr is already so long😂Have you?
@@emilyroberts2717 Nope. I want to eventually, but I also have an expansive TBR (and always growing lol). Too many books to read and not enough time to read them.
Have you read The Prisoner's Wife by Maggie Brookes? It focuses on the love story of an English soldier who is put to work on a Czech girl's family farm. They run away together and she dresses like a man so that when they are caught they are not separated. I read it this past December and liked it.
ive read (reread) the harry potter series for like the 7th time and ive read the fire keepers daughter and all your twisted secrets which both had amazing twists 9/9 for 5 stars alr im hyped i read 46 books last year 32 in the last 3 months and it was the most ever and i think i can hit 100 this year!!!
i loved firekeepers daughter so much bc i love hockey i love murder/mystery books (they my fav) and i have some indian roots (my mums grandma was an indian chief)
You have convinced me to skip Once Upon a Broken Heart, but not for the reason you're thinking. I am disgusted that people think it's OKAY to have deals with demons/devil/ etc. If they were like Rem from Re:Zero that's one thing, but it sounds like itn all the books like that it causes things to go terribly WRONG. And it's like, anyone who has a brain knows its not wise to make deals with such creatures. Which means you aretelling me before I pick it up that Addie Larue isn't wise, and neither are the characters of Kingdom of the Wicked, which has a distrubing cover anyway, and possibly Once Upon a Broken Heart. I will say that the third of these sounds the least revolting, so there's that. Also who puts a butterfly on the cover of a book that invovles DRUGS? That is cdistugasting and whoever designed that cover shoudl be ASAHMED of themselves. Well, the butterfly itself is fine but it shoudn't be on that book cover, no way.
Wow Fire Keeper's Daughter sounds intense. It looks like a fantasy book from the cover, but it's cool that it's a contemporary setting.
Yeah it wasn't what I was expecting either!
I thought it was fantasy too. I’m still pretty early in it though
Oh wow, that’s so interesting. I definitely thought it was fantasy, too.
I thought it sounded really good, and then seen it was a thriller - and put it down. I might pick it up someday but I really don’t enjoy thrillers
Firekeepers daughter was such a surprise for me! I loved it so much!
Ooh I really wanna read Six Crimson Cranes and Firekeeper's Daughter!
