Just got one of these, my first ever pinball machine. Left playfield GI doesn't work and there's something with the eyes of Red & Ted but otherwise it's just awesome!
Wow, looks like your a pretty good player. Nice catch of the pinball with the upper left flipper at 2:32. This looks like a fun machine for what you can by them for in the current market.
Such a great pinball. I own one, you just have to get good at hitting the lock and the skill shots to get high scores. The number of different challenges is awesome. Very creative machine.
@gentleuterus not to mention that Red was voiced by country music star, Carlene Carter. As if having her do red's voice wasn't enough, her song "Every little thing" is heard in the game as well.
I really want to play this game. I am really good at Funhouse and that is one of my favorite games same as Whirlwind. These all look like same design period and maybe even team. This game is awesome!!!!!
This was the first real pinball made after the 70's that I played enough to figure out every mode etc. It was an amazing pin and I still miss it, but it was literally breaking every single week I owned it since I bought it, finally had to trade it back for another pin.. Revenge from Mars!
It depends on the machine settings if you can visit the same city more than once during a game where you travel from east to west multiple times. I had one game with three Super Paydays and every single one of them started in Seattle. My machine was set up this way when I got it, haven't changed that. And by the way, GI and the eyes are fully working right now. GI started working when I replaced a fuse and the little coils inside Red and Ted had the copper winding wires broken off the solderin
this was my first pin! It broke too much and I had to trade it.. but it was an amazing game! I played that thing for hours, Im sold on lawler after that and also loving funhouse. The gi has to be an easy fix, sure its not just bad bulbs? You gotta get the eyes fixed! they follow the ball everywhere!
You have to go from east coast to west coast, but it usually is set to get there the quickest possible, so if you beat it, you keep playing and it often takes another route. for example ending in los angeles instead of san francisco.
@Gospodinstrannyj After reading the rules sheet for this game (thanks for that advice madmyerstube), and playing it pretty extensively on Visual Pinball, I've warmed up to it. One thing still bugs me though. It's way too easy to screw up the west coast and have to start all over. I've made it to one of the final cities several times, but I only ever once was able to start the game's wizard mode. And that was by accident... And yeah, I'm actually not a fan of Funhouse either. So we agree there.
@charlesajones77 If you google road show and rules, you will find some people have written them up. Regarding the souvenirs, if you purchase the correct ones then you can sell them for a profit later in the gate. By profit, I mean get points.
oh, thx for the info, didnt think of it like that. i mean i play this pinball a lot at this bar, i made it to Seattle, San Francisco, and L.A. and i realize when u go to one of these 3 places in the west coast, u have to try to make a fault on the California border, to destroy the earth to get super payday. And yes ur right, ur going from east to west coast, first u go to like Seattle, then east to west to like S.F. and last time to L.A.
I have to say, this was probably my least favorite Pat Lawlor table. Though, I have to admit, part of that is because I could never figure out WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON?! For example, what is the point of buying the souvenirs?
+Admirial Mav I realize this is a very late reply. All Road Show machines come with the rumble motor installed. It's not like today's machines where you have multiple options. With premium, pro, limited edition, etc. Back when this was made, all machines were the same. If by chance you are asking if he disabled it, he did not. It has the same familiar rumble sound that my machine produces. Hope this answers your question. :)
Sometimes during the play my Roadshow starts playing radio music and note insert near Red's head starts flashing. Does anybody know how to achieve this? I made it only randomly.

Very underrated pin. Two talking heads, a shaker motor and a ton of modes.

Now i realize, u have to go through all cities.

You can sell your items when in Albuquerque. As for the gold pinball --- it immediately gives you points and an extra ball, but you cannot sell it.

the rumbler motor us unplugged on my RS too..it's crazy loud and shakes my whole house!
