Mamamoo are vocal queens… hope you get to some more from them. The ‘year’ break they referred to at the start was due to them doing some solo projects. I may be biased, but they all killed it. They have two mv’s this year. Where are we now and mumumumuch. If you are looking for requests, my usual requests are for waggy from a few years ago, and the Pokémon ost they did early this year. Only live options for these.
YESssss! I'm not too into Kpop, but other than BTS (and some Stray Kids) Mamamoo is IT. I don't really consider them Kpop, if comparing their sound to the majority of self-identified kpop groups, but whatever they are or want to be, they are amazing and talented ladies.
You guys need to get into Hwasa (the one on the far right) solo stuff also.
well kpop is just pop music in korean, hence the name. the sound of kpop can be very diverse and can be something like mamamoo or svt or aespa etc, kpop is just a genre, not a specific sound or style.

To answer your question about the year-long gap between their 2019 album reality in BLACK and the Travel EP in late 2020, the members worked on solo projects during that time. In addition to being one of the top female groups each member has a successful solo career on the side.
As you probably figured out this medley included snippets of songs from throughout their career. They started with their debut song Mr Ambiguous (2014) and ended with their most recent single at the time this video was filmed, Aya (2020). The song title was written on top with the album and year of release underneath. The Dingo channel runs two series, one for rappers called Killing Verse and another for singers called Killing Voice. Each soloist or group performs a medley of their songs in a 15 or so minute live session. The idea is to showcase the artist's vocal skills without any dancing or theatrical staging, tho MMM couldn't resist doing some of their choreo lol. Mamamoo was the first group invited to the Killing Voice series, which is appropriate since they're generally considered to be the best female vocal group of their generation.
This year Mamamoo released a 4 song EP of ballads featuring the vocal masterpiece Where Are We Now and a career retrospective album called I Say Mamamoo: The Best, which includes 2 new songs and 21 new recordings with new arrangements of 21 of their hits and favorite b-sides. The members also did various solo projects such as OST songs for kdramas, collabs with other artists, and Wheein (2nd from right) released a solo album called Redd with the groovy New Jack Swing single Watercolor and 5 excellent b-sides in a mostly r&b mood. The next project to come out of the group will be a solo album by Hwasa, the one on the right with the fatal looks.

I didn't get into Mamamoo when I first heard them because they sounded like Show Tunes or too girly for me. After loving their solo songs, I began to appreciate them as a group, their styles, vocals and definitely their personalities. Please do a guide to see more of their varied styles.
Hip is a dancey song yes but it also means cool in the context of the song. The girls especially Hwasa, the one in the sweats, got judged by media for their bold choices and her especially for wearing a trendy boxers pants look, a sports bra to the airport and she also went braless. you can search up her looks. she started a trend and shes even wearing it in that video. the other members also get judged as they are very independent and trendsetters as well. you should watch a mamamoo guide
