PERFECT. Excellent mix of old and new choreography. Keely Beirne is a stunning Anita and all the kicks and turns just pop - helped by excellent emphasis with drums.
one consistent theme im seeing in most "international" productions of WSS is that when it comes to the Shark girl costumes especially for this number its as if the designers cared way more about costume movement and an explosion of color than actual historical accuracy. Girls in 1950 NY didn't go to their HS dances looking like they just killed a parrot and used the feathers to trim a barbie style "island" dress, they had 1950s dance dresses. these are far too much a "costume" for the nature of this story. the performers though oooo HOLY SHIT THEY ARE SPECTACULAR!!!!!!
Whoever thought it was a great idea to have these ladies do this number barefoot for an entire tour deserves to meet the Jets and the Sharks in a dark alley
