I’m playing this in the York Youth Symphony! I’m 2nd chair 1st trumpet, and America is so hard with all the double high notes. Is there anybody who can give me tips to reach those high notes without missing them, and doing it safely?
Don't know if you still need this piece of advice, but here you go: Hard to say from the distance, but in general try to use LESS air for the high notes and don't reset during the last part. If you reset all the time, chances are you will miss the notes. Also make sure to hear the pitches correctly and try to sing it at home. Mouthpiece buzzing this part might also help. And: First comes correct form, then volume. Try to back off when you get tired. Make sure to play very soft long tones in the upper register at home to build the range consistently. The faddis triad exercise in the Charlie Porter video is problaby the best thing you can do for range building. Just do it every single day (but of course, rest when your muscles need some recovery time). If you top out on high d, then you won't be able to play it with ease. You have to have some notes in reserve. But remember: today's squeaks are tomorrow's notes and what's your limit today will be in your comfort zone tomorrow. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Another wonderful performance! - working my way through all your past videos - the string sections were particularly bright for this medley. How old are these super players?

No Gee Officer Krumpkee? That's a classic!
Looks as if the timpanist is using the island setup (largest drum to his left, smallest to his right), which is what I use myself.

4th chair trumpet never seems to be playing. What's the deal?
He doesn't even play the last note
He must have left his music folder at home.
8:35
idk if your joking or not but if you weren't its because the score requires 3 trumpets.

This is the arrangement by Jack Mason, published by Hal Leonard. It's not available for free unfortunately.

I'm just curious if they even know this in Poland? if it's as popular as it is here in the States.
Of course they do.
