@@GTAmaniac1Modern phones can't run Nintendo games without emulators can they? And even if they could, most people aren't gonna go through the hassle of setting it up because consoles are always convenience first. Nintendo has released a fuck ton of games on the switch while Sony and Xbox have released a handful, they have it locked down at this point. They're the best console despite being the weakest in power because they offer games that no one else does
Why do you need any more power above a ps4 pro for a handheld? At least Nintendo makes very fun games with the limitations of the switch. Switch 2 will put ps5 and Xbox in their places. NINTENDO OF TOPPP
Hopefully this lets them commit on graphics and FPS a bit more. That Pokemon games, one of their big flagships, still get FPS drops and some serious graphic limits has always been a bit of a shame.
I hope games don't rely on dlss too much though. But since I was hoping for the switch to be atleast as powerful as the ps4 pro or Xbox One X, I'm definitely pre-ordering this console.
A modern flagship phone is a “massive jump” from current switch hardware so that doesn’t really mean much to me especially considering you can get a used steam deck for about the same price as it will likely launch at
All you people care about is numbers. Whats most important is "Are the games fun?" Every other console is more powerful, but the games suck. Nintendo are the only ones making fun games.
That's why give us switch 3.5 because they encourage the use of old technology these days instead of leading us into the future... 🎉 I look forward to Mario Kart 9, and Pokemon... Maybe they should just focus on delivering new game titles
People saying “it’s gonna be as powerful as a ps4” and saying that’s a bad thing are insane. The fact that you can literally have a handheld equivalent to a ps4 is crazy, and it might even be as powerful as a ps4 pro
"The fact that you can literally have a handheld equivalent to an 11-year old console is insane" no it isn't. Look at steam deck and rog ally, it's not extremely difficult to cram modern pc hardware into a handheld
@ well you do it then if it’s not difficult. The steam deck is just short of being as powerful as a ps4. Just because other companies can do it doesn’t make that any less impressive. The switch 2 is likely gonna be as powerful, if not more powerful than a ps4 and maybe even on par with the ps4 pro. I saw some guy try to make a ps4 handheld, and he did a great job just on his own, but that thing was chunky asf and lasted about 3 hours max.
Most games like legend of Zelda open worlds, Splatoon, Mario, and more are way better than what you will get on a ps5 and xbox. They are actully unique and fun.
Ok. This was something I was expecting. Overall a major improvement, but only when it comes to outputting better visuals. So in theory, any new switch games made with this is mind can still run on Norma switches, just without the up scaling.
The fact some people aren't satisfied yet is crazy, its not top of the line but still what else do you want most of modern hardware is wasted on poor optimisation anyway this is fine
Yeah, because the Switch's lower hardware made the optimization better, right? You say how are people not satisfied. Most of us think, how on earth do Nintendo fanboys buy this?
People also seem to forget that shoving the extreme power they want into a tiny handheld console is not easy at all. And if they made the console big enough to fit the entire laptop 4090 they crave, they'd get mad that the console is too big and "they should just get a computer at that point"
@@GTAmaniac1 With the power the switch 2 is going to have, it'll likely be about on par with the steam deck. We'll still have to see on a price, though.
You know what? This is the only situation where I’ll excuse the ai upscaling. If it means the console can push more power into its games, then I’m all in for it. I’ll buy it, surely.
I mean if the reported 1080p screen is true then you likely won't even notice any quality loss anyway (even if there is any DLSS 3 is really good) Thats 315 pixels per inch Which is nearly double that of a 4k 27 inch screen.
Given how Astroboy used the PS5's hardware, we can expect that type of utilization from many first-party nintendo games on the switch 2. The graphics will improve, but the true benefit is increasing the amount of entities on the screen. Pokemon in particular will love this.
For reference, 1536 cores is 75% of the cores of the RTX 2050 chip (the lowest end current Nvidia laptop chip), and it's probably gonna run at 5-15W as opposed to the 30-45W of the aforementioned 2050. RTX 2050 is about 10% faster than the 780M, which itself is about 30% faster than the Steam Deck when at max power. This'll probably be right around Steam Deck in terms of power. Should still give Nintendo devs a lot more headroom, especially seeing what they could do with the OG Switch.
The original Switch was weaker than a contemporary GTX 1030, so the Switch 2 being weaker than a contemporary RTX 4050 Laptop kinda makes sense. But the quality gap will be a lot less obvious
Only BOtW fans remember walking into the lost woods for the first time and watching their FPS slowly drop from a consistent 30 to an inconsistent 10-15
@@quint2568 i mean the 30 series seems to be able to run it and it will lauch on the Ps5 and the switch 2 is supposed to be as/more powerfull then that so i dont see a reason not to
if there's something that the Wii and Switch taught us is that specs only need to be enough of an improvement over the last generation for Nintendo, no need to compete with the cutting edge. The main thing is to create a product with broad appeal where their IPs can have a market and shine, and everything else will follow.
They’re not doing anything different than they’ve been doing for the last 40 years. It’s why they’re the only OG console company still around and on top by many metrics.

A regular Switch can already run TOTK with seamless transitions between sky, the overworld, and depths, and you can see across the map. So think of what crazy things the Switch 2 could run with the right optimization.
nintendo always uses slightly older hardware, and so far it's proven to be effective, and I dont see any reason for an rtx 40 series chip in a nintendo handheld
If these leaks are accurate, this actually makes me pretty excited for the Switch 2. Power was my biggest criticism with the Nintendo Switch, and having a console which can run more, handle games more smoothly, and hopefully still run original Switch games... That's pretty much all I'd hoped for. I mean I've got a Minecraft save file on my Switch (because portable Minecraft 👌) which I just can't play anymore because of performance problems. Ideally it'd also be more robust than the Switch though. I've had mine since launch, and after only a few years in parts of plastic started breaking off around the vent, obviously I had issues with the Joycon joysticks, and also the card reader is iffy at best. Still runs, but Switch 2 is bound to be pricier - so I'd like to feel more confident that it'll last.
@@sonicwave779 There can be no bigger stain for Nintendo than Wii U and that didn't stop them. Do you think this will? They used nvidia on the switch and it’s an arm chip so it willl be better than any pc handheld out right now in terms of battery.
Expect the same as the Switch. Nintendo has been aiming for 3 hours for demanding titles since the ds
@@agoogleuser6556no it isn't don't get your hopes up.
A lot of people were disappointed that the switch will just be as powerful as a ps4....
It's a handheld?!? What did you expect from a handheld console?
Cause it’s newgen and even when docked it’s as powerful as a old gen
Because modern phones are just as powerful as a ps4. It's really not that high a bar.
@@GTAmaniac1dude it’s a handheld and costs 1/2 the price of those phones
@@GTAmaniac1Modern phones can't run Nintendo games without emulators can they? And even if they could, most people aren't gonna go through the hassle of setting it up because consoles are always convenience first. Nintendo has released a fuck ton of games on the switch while Sony and Xbox have released a handful, they have it locked down at this point. They're the best console despite being the weakest in power because they offer games that no one else does
My question is how much will it cost compared to 1; other consoles like the ps5 2; the first switch when it first came out?
This one of the most dubblesided comment sections I think I've seen on a video, people are either happy with the leaks, or are very disappointed
Actually seems like a powerful console; I’m looking forward to this.
Streetlight Manifesto t-shirt???
Yesterday’s technology at tomorrow’s price
Would $400 be considered tomorrow's price?
Why do you need any more power above a ps4 pro for a handheld? At least Nintendo makes very fun games with the limitations of the switch. Switch 2 will put ps5 and Xbox in their places. NINTENDO OF TOPPP
Is that a streetlight manifesto tee?
Hopefully this lets them commit on graphics and FPS a bit more. That Pokemon games, one of their big flagships, still get FPS drops and some serious graphic limits has always been a bit of a shame.
So still a generation behind as usual.
"Joycons are mostly unchanged" nooooo I wanted joycons that won't start drifting after touching them once 😭😭😭
They won't drift, they are way bigger, and you will be able to use it as a mouse :)
dude its 2024 they left durable controllers back in the early 2000s
I hope games don't rely on dlss too much though. But since I was hoping for the switch to be atleast as powerful as the ps4 pro or Xbox One X, I'm definitely pre-ordering this console.
It's definitely not, the video is lying
@@GeraltofRivia22It is, but it'll be pretty heavily underclocked.
PS4 pro? Unlikely. A slightly weaker PS4? Possibly
Also don't preorder. Wait to see if the hype is real. Remember the Nintendo curse of one good console and one bad console
@WolfTheTrueKing that's what the Alarmo was for, also it's 1 good SELLING console 1 bad SELLING console. The Gamecube wasn't bad, the Wii U was okay.

A modern flagship phone is a “massive jump” from current switch hardware so that doesn’t really mean much to me especially considering you can get a used steam deck for about the same price as it will likely launch at

Everyone has their Hopes WAY too high up.
@ i stand by what I said, it is insane how people can engineer this shit

Nintendo games definitely are not "always good".
@@jamesbarnousky1270main studio games are always good though just because gamefreak is abad studio doesn't mean Nintendo is a bad one
I think most are very overpriced like Animal Crossing and Zelda Echoes.
Most games like legend of Zelda open worlds, Splatoon, Mario, and more are way better than what you will get on a ps5 and xbox. They are actully unique and fun.
Gonna go sit in a corner and feel old.
"modern hardware features like AI upscaling, and [...] ray tracing."
Nintendo consistency being one or more generations behind will never not be funny
Before everyone gets existed. Dev kits often have more ram than the final console.
I didn't know that dev kits existed before humans did! (This is sarcastic.)
The dev kits has 16gb, the retail version has 12gb
Ok. This was something I was expecting. Overall a major improvement, but only when it comes to outputting better visuals. So in theory, any new switch games made with this is mind can still run on Norma switches, just without the up scaling.
The fact some people aren't satisfied yet is crazy, its not top of the line but still what else do you want
most of modern hardware is wasted on poor optimisation anyway this is fine
Yeah, because the Switch's lower hardware made the optimization better, right?
You say how are people not satisfied. Most of us think, how on earth do Nintendo fanboys buy this?
People also seem to forget that shoving the extreme power they want into a tiny handheld console is not easy at all.
And if they made the console big enough to fit the entire laptop 4090 they crave, they'd get mad that the console is too big and "they should just get a computer at that point"
@@AmoraScripting I'm predicting that it'll be both more expensive and less powerful than a steamdeck
@@GTAmaniac1 With the power the switch 2 is going to have, it'll likely be about on par with the steam deck. We'll still have to see on a price, though.
I mean the switch 1 had the power of a phone from like 10 years ago and they made it work this is a big improvement
Been waiting for switch 2 for a while 🔥🔥
You know what? This is the only situation where I’ll excuse the ai upscaling.
If it means the console can push more power into its games, then I’m all in for it.
I’ll buy it, surely.
I mean if the reported 1080p screen is true then you likely won't even notice any quality loss anyway (even if there is any DLSS 3 is really good)
Thats 315 pixels per inch Which is nearly double that of a 4k 27 inch screen.
There are leaks for 4k, the screen has 120 hrtz.
Given how Astroboy used the PS5's hardware, we can expect that type of utilization from many first-party nintendo games on the switch 2. The graphics will improve, but the true benefit is increasing the amount of entities on the screen. Pokemon in particular will love this.
I've never seen that shirt on anyone but myself. Nice!
Hey, at least we can say we are living an age where Nintendo finally surpased the 1080 Ti
Watch it be completely different
As someone that used to use an Nvidia Shield, I can confirm their hardware upscaling to 4K is really good.
Only BOtW fans remember walking into the lost woods for the first time and watching their FPS slowly drop from a consistent 30 to an inconsistent 10-15

if there's something that the Wii and Switch taught us is that specs only need to be enough of an improvement over the last generation for Nintendo, no need to compete with the cutting edge. The main thing is to create a product with broad appeal where their IPs can have a market and shine, and everything else will follow.
Part of me is tempted not to buy this thing due to all the bullshit Nintendo has been pulling

Nintendo is launching the PS4, 5 years into the PS5's lifecycle.
And have sold a console weaker than the PS3 for 7 years almost as much as the PS4 and 5 combined.
@@speedforce8970 I get that but it has to leave a stain on your legacy when your system has the definitive worst ports for every single modern game.

And even if the switch 2 was already out, with the supposed rtx 3050 performance, it would already be behind RIGHT NOW.
