The Dolphin was changed to the Game Cube and people hated it. The Nintendo Revolution became the Wii and people hated it. The NX became the Switch and people hated it. I swear, the Switch2 is going to have a really off the wall name and people will learn to love it.

I thought I was the only dumbass that did that with my switch. Only a few times because yea I'm aware huffing fumes isn't a great idea but damn it does smell strangely nice
Just so you know Arlo, the DBrand company is well known for shenanigans. They're a long-time sponsor of Linus Tech Tips (another Canadian company) and the two troll each other frequently. The vibe of DBrand is sort of "doing it for the lulz, lol nothing matters", relying mostly on their (really, pretty good) products.
@ right. I mean that I figured DBrand was trolling with the actual device. Basically being performatively naughty like a streaker through a baseball outfield.
I don't think there's going to be a hardware gimmick (I mean, they're bringing back a microphone, but there was one in the DS, 3DS, and Wii U so I wouldn't call it a gimmick). Maybe the tech inside the Joycons will have been improved so the Rumble is even more HD or whatever, but in general I think gimmicks will be relegated to peripherals and software. The Switch had wildly gimmicky things like LABO and Ring Fit Adventure and Ring Fit Adventure actually sold remarkably well and (I haven't played it but) people say it's quite good for what it is, but none of those are baked into the system. I'd expect Switch 2 gimmicks to not be part of the system but be software with peripherals like a new version of LABO.
@@pattersong6637 It's Nintendo. There will be one (or more). LABO and Ring Fit are accessories. I'm talking about the NS2 itself. Like the NS1 is hybrid, that's its main gimmick.
He calling the giant holes at the bottom "nice big speakers", meanwhile im like, surely they are the cooling vents, and the speakers are the small things on the sides
At this point the only things we haven't seen are the games, OS and if the older games will have some upgrades. There's one dude that said they will leak the console on christmas and that the official reveal would be on january. The dude had evidence that was shown to the subreddit's moderator that said that as shocking as it was, the dude actually had proof he has one. So we will most likely see the actual console with the packaging before nintendo even officially shows it. What a timeline..
Note on blurriness: this isn’t a perfect comparison but… i am a doll collector and upcoming doll launches are often leaked in advance and almost every leaked image is inexplicably blurry for seemingly no reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is what has been happening with these blurry switch 2 “leaks”. I haven’t come up with a good reason as to why they’re always blurry, maybe something to do with it making it harder to reverse image search to find? Idk
These are probably all unlicensed accessory manufacturers, they're likely not "working with Nintendo"- they just got ahold of the dimensions or a CAD file. Happens every time new iPhones are imminent as well.
I'm thinking they won't acknowledge this at all until at least Jan 1. Gotta get through the holiday selling season first. Hell, they may wait until February 1 to try to wait for some return deadlines to pass.
Going as far as to say Nintendo are closely looking into return deadlines is borderline conspiratorial at this point. People buying Switches this late in the game won’t care about the Switch 2.
"The smell good air-" And this is now another one of those times iv'e noticed something in my life subconsciously and now find out that others have too due to the internet haha.
Imagine during the official reveal they open with “we’ve seen your excitement for our new console, and we decided to have some fun with only our most trusted partners” Then proceed to reveal this was the hype cycle all along😊
I think the "C Buttons" could be three things: 1. CL/CR 2. An infrared sensor like the sync button on Xbox Series X|S that is also an infrared sensor that might be used for infrared receivers under the television for games that use them (maybe Wii on Nintendo Switch Online, exclusively on the next system, so there are less games that are recalibrated like Super Mario Galaxy, and maybe games like SMG 2 will be ported over easier). 3. A latch button It does weirdly look like it has an analog look to it, so maybe it could also be a C "trigger", but also on both sides and maybe still called CL and CR. I think 1 and 2 can be true at the same time, but 3 likely couldn't happen with 1 and 2, because players might unlatch their side controllers, whatever they call them if not Joy-Con, on accident while playing, but perhaps the latch only works while the game is idle (pause or at those pairing screens). Most likely it's a fourth option not many are thinking of. I do think that most of these are fake or real in theory in the sense that they could be a prototype for grip manufacturers to build an accessory with the mere basic form factor and they filled in more detail than perhaps even they knew, but since they've been posted, or at least before it launches, Nintendo will change something drastically. While this is not a good example, the Wii Remote's 1 and 2 Buttons were originally X and Y in a pre-launch trailer, I believe. (I don't know Xactly Y they changed it, because I like X and Y better, but I suppose it's hard to communicate NES Virtual Console or NES-like games' actions with X and Y.) Also, the Wii U GamePad had Circle Pads on both sides like the 3DS, presumably not clickable, which was the first Nintendo controller I know of with clickable sticks, so that was definitely a good change.
Good to know that we'll have grips available to buy for the switch 2 on release, because god knows if you played on the switch 1's boxy design you know how un-comfy it is to hold for longer then a few minutes, either by keeping your arms close to your body to not have your wrists at terrible angles, or a finger grip that just sucks to use. Gotta say though with those images, not having rails showing off the top makes it look so much more clean. Though with the side load nature of the magnetic joycons, we wont really get a nitrodeck for it that's just a solid piece that can snap in, just alternative joycons like the hori. I just hope that the tolerances are good enough that there isn't much flex, like the switch 1 rails.
5 bucks on that, that it’s a publicity stunt made by Nintendo Why would a carrying case be transparent and perfectly mold each button and joystick, that doesn’t sound protective at all Also nintendo’s ninjas would’ve gotten rid of all the ppl who relayed the images
they might as well just reveal it at this point. Like piss off man the year is about to END and they're still holding back the official announcement for apparently no reason
I do wonder if it’s too similar visually to the old switch. People might feel like it’s just another upgraded switch. iPhones of course are a counterpoint.
Because of the Name of the Wii u there where Problems with sales too because people thought it was only a better Wii. When they release a Console that looks pretty much the same as the one before it could get even more problems,.
7:05 those are definitely air intakes, not speakers; the horizontal slots to either side of those are the speakers 9:55 confirming something like that is SUCH a dbrand move lmao their marketing has always been borderline incendiary
And then in March '25 Nintendo reveals their new console and it's a big ball that shoots out holographic projections into the room and you have to roll the ball around a bunch to get points that you exchange for play time. That's the Nintendo that I know and love
I sincerely hope it's just called the Switch 2. Mostly because it'll annoy everyone who insists that Nintendo is too zany to do something that "boring".
I'm fine with this. All I really wanted was an improved Switch anyway. I don't want any additional gimmicks. Disappointed if they really are just calling it "Switch 2" and not "Super Switch" though.
What I still find interesting is that it’s just a direct upgrade to the Switch. Nintendo always likes to innovate and experiment with their new consoles. Even the Wii U had the touchpad gimmick. But it seems like Nintendo either is out of ideas on how to innovate, or have finally decided on a console design to stick with. They’ve carved themselves a niche with longevity.
In to-day‘s world it is impossible to keep this things secret. But the more rumours and leaks spread, the more free PR for the company. People keep talking for months or even years about the product.
This is my theory , only being 4 minutes in. So maybe I'll change my tune. They originally wanted switch2 to be holiday release after how big OGswitch was. However I think they changed plans for whatever reason, weather it be changed of factory, needing time for a feature, or just overall it took longer than Nintendo thought it would. Therefore a bunch of these accessorie companies already had the anticipation of the Christmas launch in mind, and automatically sent out emails. That's what I think
Well, it looks like exactly what I want; A better Switch. I really hope that Nintendo continues to just release updated versions of the same design, they've honestly hit design perfection and there is no need to radically change anything.
I think these accessory manufacturers are just angry that Nintendo hasn’t revealed the console yet when they originally intended to launch it months ago. They made accessories that they need to reveal and in some cases even sell early to please investors.
The things you called speakers are actually the intake ports for the fans. The speakers are right above them, the smaller slits. The stand is just that U-shaped part, not the whole back. I'd be shocked if it doesn't double as a carry handle because why not. There's speculation that the top USB-C port isn't just for charging and instead serves as a port for attaching accessories which were hinted at in the first chinese leak from like a month or so ago, one of which being a camera, which could be a misunderstanding and it's actually a Wii-style sensor bar that would allow you to use Wiimotes for VC games, OR the latest verified reddit leak(they had evidence that was sent to the mods) hinted at a surprise feature tucked into the shoulder buttons which perhaps could be an IR pointer for motion controls, but then you'd have to deal with your fingers covering it so that doesn't sound quite right. And the C button, the best guess anyone currently has is that it means "Cast" and what happens is the Switch sends a signal to the dock which has new hardware that allows it to display both on the TV and the Switch itself simultaneously for a Wii U like experience albeit with portable mode graphics, maybe slightly overclocked to clean up the image and reduce lag. This does beg the question of whether or not they could do DS/3DS, but this method would mean it only works when you're at home in the same room as the dock and TV, but what if there's another accessory that is a second screen that attaches to the top USB-C port enabling portable DS play? Granted, I have no idea how that would function with portable mode graphics, does it downclock more? Does the bottom screen display at a lower resolution than the top or vice versa? Does it have a hinge of some kind to adjust the orientation of the top screen? It'd be cool but sounds like a technical nightmare. But at least Nintendo could have all their games on one platform and not need to completely retool every port to not need two screens. Some games probably rely on that gimmick very heavily. Per the aforementioned reddit leak, the analog sticks are hall effect meaning goodbye stick drift, Nintendo probably didn't want to deal with constant repairs and lawsuits. No mention on whether or not the triggers are still digital or if they're analog. Judging by those accessory images they still seem too shallow for analog, but who knows, not every analog trigger is made equal or requires the same travel distance. Why they insist on digital I'll never understand, it's not ideal for racing games or simulating the pull on a bowstring. The big button on the back is in fact the release mechanism because it's not just magnets that hold the controllers on, they do have physical pieces that connect and hold it in place with the magnets for extra support, and it makes sense to orient the button on the side of the trigger like that because now you're going to have to pull the controllers off rather than slide them. The ZR and ZL buttons are the magnets and they're physically larger than before(thank god, they were so tiny and hard to press.). And yes, it is literally just called the Switch 2. The logo is the Switch logo with a 2 next to it. Oh, and the dock apparently now exposes more of the screen, so maybe they intend to do something with that, maybe display battery life, the time, etc. Kind of like a widget thing. But the ports on it are the same as the OLED dock except it is capable of at least 4K30 output.
My guess is Nintendo's NDA with these companies said something along the lines of "you are not allowed to disclose any products for the Switch 2 until December 12th 2024 or Nintendo formally announces the device, whichever occurs first", assuming they'd announce the system by now.
also, while i'm confused why the magnet release buttons are so big, I'm glad there's a WiiUpad-esque ridge so the switch can rest on my finger while i hold it. I do still wish the Joy2Cons had a caboose, or at the very least be thicker so i can grip them, instead of gripping the back of the console which might get a tad toasty over time if the Switch 1 is any indication
I have this strange feeling that all of these "leaks" are omitting some new gimmick that isn't immediately obvious based just on the form factor. I think Nintendo might still have a trick up their sleeve. A few options: 1. It can do something similar to the 3DS. 2. It can render both to the handheld and to the TV that is attached to the dock, like the Wii U. Or, maybe all of these leaks are a coordinate campaign of misdirection and the Switch 2 doesn't look like what we have seen at all. Unlikely, but man if it were true it would be one of the best marketing ploys ever.
I wonder if all these leaks are because of previously scheduled marketing campaigns and product launches that the accessory companies that they had planned for the Switch successor's launch presentation that Nintendo ended up delaying. Kinda like how we get weird Mountain Dew promotions around the time of a games originally planned launch, but the decision to delay came too late for those promotions to also get delayed as well.
I don't know about the other companies, but after doing some research on DBrand, it seems that they do not work directly with Nintendo. In fact, they've released several products that are essentially carbon copies of official Nintendo products that manage to slip by because of parody law (like a Animal Crossing themed dock with the title "not Animal Crossing" for example). The CEO even seems to get a kick out of pissing Nintendo off, so I don't think they're really concerned about getting on Nintendo's bad side.
Meh. Switch is already an unergonomic basic slab thing, I wish they would straight up make a home console and a handheld again. Feels dull since they went this route :( Don't really like the look of it. Vita was the perfect size imo

I did until this the rubber started to wreck the back of my switch
The Dolphin was changed to the Game Cube and people hated it. The Nintendo Revolution became the Wii and people hated it. The NX became the Switch and people hated it. I swear, the Switch2 is going to have a really off the wall name and people will learn to love it.
Nintendo Cornucopia
Switch 2 isn't the codename. Most people are convinced that it's OZ
Rumors are that the Nintendo Switch 4 will have 2 screens.
Saw this on the Switch 4 subreddit
"the smell good air comes out of there"
My Arlo, please, cease inhaling of the exhaust fumes. Direct exposure may have adverse effects. Your lungs do not want it.
I thought I was the only dumbass that did that with my switch. Only a few times because yea I'm aware huffing fumes isn't a great idea but damn it does smell strangely nice
Is this why Arlo is sick every other week? Seems legit
My lungs want it
but then why smell good air???
Just so you know Arlo, the DBrand company is well known for shenanigans. They're a long-time sponsor of Linus Tech Tips (another Canadian company) and the two troll each other frequently. The vibe of DBrand is sort of "doing it for the lulz, lol nothing matters", relying mostly on their (really, pretty good) products.
that was the original thought, but they confirmed to Inside Gaming this is real with the actual dimensions from a 3d scan of the real device.
@ right. I mean that I figured DBrand was trolling with the actual device. Basically being performatively naughty like a streaker through a baseball outfield.
Almost guaranteed this is a cg render
DS / 3DS
Same energy. Lets see what the gimmick is.
Imagine if there isn't one lmao
The gimmick could be anything that attaches to the new USB C port
@@pattersong6637 It's Nintendo. There will be one (or more). LABO and Ring Fit are accessories. I'm talking about the NS2 itself. Like the NS1 is hybrid, that's its main gimmick.
@@Filotus The gimmick is gonna be something out of the box. Not accessories.
Nintendo try not to get their console leaked challenge (impossible difficulty)
He calling the giant holes at the bottom "nice big speakers", meanwhile im like, surely they are the cooling vents, and the speakers are the small things on the sides
At this point the only things we haven't seen are the games, OS and if the older games will have some upgrades.
There's one dude that said they will leak the console on christmas and that the official reveal would be on january.
The dude had evidence that was shown to the subreddit's moderator that said that as shocking as it was, the dude actually had proof he has one.
So we will most likely see the actual console with the packaging before nintendo even officially shows it. What a timeline..
7:39 Exhaust. 😂😂😂
Idk
Did you watch the full video?
@ sure did!
I'd like to hope the C button is a camera button, _but I could never be too sure about that with a Switch sequel_
GUYS REC THIS VIDEO BEFORE NINTENDO STRIKES ARLO
By the time the Switch 2 releases all of the joysticks will have already drifted
Free marketing. Didn’t have to make a single announcement and we keep talking about it over and over.
Butternut Squash? Yes Please!
"The smell good air-"
And this is now another one of those times iv'e noticed something in my life subconsciously and now find out that others have too due to the internet haha.
Realistically the "C button" stand's for "capture"
Probably
Yeah, maybe but there is still the normal capture button like on the Switch. I don't think they'd have 2 different buttons for the same thing.
At this point Nintendo should just upload an image of it with a date of a full presentation and leave
Imagine during the official reveal they open with “we’ve seen your excitement for our new console, and we decided to have some fun with only our most trusted partners”
Then proceed to reveal this was the hype cycle all along😊
I think the "C Buttons" could be three things:
1. CL/CR
3. A latch button
It does weirdly look like it has an analog look to it, so maybe it could also be a C "trigger", but also on both sides and maybe still called CL and CR.
(I don't know Xactly Y they changed it, because I like X and Y better, but I suppose it's hard to communicate NES Virtual Console or NES-like games' actions with X and Y.) Also, the Wii U GamePad had Circle Pads on both sides like the 3DS, presumably not clickable, which was the first Nintendo controller I know of with clickable sticks, so that was definitely a good change.
oh my god i'm so stupid
i clicked the 'post' button in the bottom right corner thinking it was a skip ad
“Here it is!”
“...What is it?”
“A Switch 2, a friendly Switch 2!”
“That’s it?”
(From SpongeBob’s Valentine’s Day)
Good to know that we'll have grips available to buy for the switch 2 on release, because god knows if you played on the switch 1's boxy design you know how un-comfy it is to hold for longer then a few minutes, either by keeping your arms close to your body to not have your wrists at terrible angles, or a finger grip that just sucks to use.
Why does the silicon case have silicon over the actual face buttons?
5 bucks on that, that it’s a publicity stunt made by Nintendo
Why would a carrying case be transparent and perfectly mold each button and joystick, that doesn’t sound protective at all
Also nintendo’s ninjas would’ve gotten rid of all the ppl who relayed the images
they might as well just reveal it at this point.
Nintendo seriously needs a killer app for this console at launch. A Tetris to it's Game Boy. A Super Mario Bros to it's NES.
7:05 those are definitely air intakes, not speakers; the horizontal slots to either side of those are the speakers
9:55 confirming something like that is SUCH a dbrand move lmao their marketing has always been borderline incendiary
“The fan thingy with the hot? The foof? The fooshy? T-the smell good air?”
cit. Arlo, 2024
You have already seen a Nintendo handheld device with 2 charging ports. The Wii U gamepad had a top usb port and bottom charging cradle port.
And then in March '25 Nintendo reveals their new console and it's a big ball that shoots out holographic projections into the room and you have to roll the ball around a bunch to get points that you exchange for play time. That's the Nintendo that I know and love
The thumbnail basically sums it perfectly
Thank god, "Super Switch" or "Switch Attach" would've been unbearably stupid.
This thing better be more powerful than a steam deck for it to even be worth it.
But I bet the nintendo execs don't even know they have a competitor.
I sincerely hope it's just called the Switch 2. Mostly because it'll annoy everyone who insists that Nintendo is too zany to do something that "boring".
The "C" button is just another button to take snapshots with like the left joycon
I'm fine with this. All I really wanted was an improved Switch anyway. I don't want any additional gimmicks. Disappointed if they really are just calling it "Switch 2" and not "Super Switch" though.
Damn it Arlo. I was actually trying not to be spoiled for what it looked like!!
It just looks like a normal switch with 1 or 2 buttons changed, nothing to get exited yet
Its like when toy companies spoil movies
This thing better come with an OLED display from the get-go, because otherwise I'm gonna have trouble switching to the new model.
We need to have a C-rious talk about the C Button.
Switch 3 before 2040
I love how Nintendo don't care about this and didn't take down any of this.
The ZenGrip for the base Switch is actually pretty great. Definitely gonna pick up this new one for Switch 2 xD
It will be hilarious now if the Switch2 looks nothing like this 😂😂😂😂
Accessory companies have a long history of leaking mobile products.
BROKE: Scott the Woz L button video.
WOKE: Arlo C button video.
I have this strange feeling that all of these "leaks" are omitting some new gimmick that isn't immediately obvious based just on the form factor. I think Nintendo might still have a trick up their sleeve. A few options:
Its the sequel to squimble
classic mario and zelda would just be too simple
I wonder if all these leaks are because of previously scheduled marketing campaigns and product launches that the accessory companies that they had planned for the Switch successor's launch presentation that Nintendo ended up delaying. Kinda like how we get weird Mountain Dew promotions around the time of a games originally planned launch, but the decision to delay came too late for those promotions to also get delayed as well.
I can't believe we were all losing our sleep and nintendo was being super secretive about a 5% bigger switch with an extra port
Switch 2 Electric Boogaloo
how is there not a single reupload of the satisfye ad you'd think the streisand effect would have kicked in by now
pretty neat the joycon just snap into the sides rather than slide into them
Meh. Switch is already an unergonomic basic slab thing, I wish they would straight up make a home console and a handheld again. Feels dull since they went this route :(
Don't really like the look of it. Vita was the perfect size imo
Weird that the silicone case doesn't have opening for the IR window on the bottom of the joycon - unless that's no longer a thing.
I think the other button is just another screenshot button so that the other player can also take screenshots when playing with single joycons.
