Regenerative agriculture is the miracle. Interesting to note from scripture the creator stepped out of time And YeHoVaH planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

As you say yourself water is the key component. One mistake I made: with my own rare species grape culture I just put the saplings into the mat of the grass with too little grass removed. Sure, I had put thick layers of grass mulch and even lerned to put some pieces of wood to kee mulch from turning to hay. Years later many of the plants where still not succeding.
Now I saw that unter this may be 2 inch layer of grass there was no water and very litte soil organisms even when there was plenty of rain. It simply inhibits infiltration. So simple and obvious but it had escaped me. With a chat with a new neighbor (an organic grower) I saw that he removed all the agrresive mat and seeded very deep rooting grass clover mix. My mistake was to believe that thick mulching alone will do the job. It was not. Now I am interested to experimentally intercrop with perennial grains. Any hints on that?
I would love to help share the things I'm learning about with other farmers. It's sad to see what's considered 😕 normal practices. I thank you all for your support in gaining knowledge about how a healthy happy soil exists in relation with the crops we grow.

Mr John I love all your knowledge but May I suggest one thing? I’d like to see a more laser focused content perhaps on a single nutrient, bio stimulant, or practice. Perhaps 20 minutes tops.
Your typical discussion is a wealth of expertise and a lot to unpack. So much so that I find I lose some key information because I can’t find it.

Hi John, I'm not a farmer, just a busy gardener but was wondering how you deal with spider mites. Is there an underlying problem that brings them in? I am planning on ordering beneficial insects to get a handle on this, but was wondering if you have any suggestions.

@@Horse237 that was an interesting video but it's not really practical for dealing with spider mites. Knocking the mites back and using a few waves of beneficials seems like much better advice than just grow healthier plants.

@@pyramidion5911 LOL interesting idea.. however we're really looking into dealing with Nitrate and Ammonium levels in the sap not yet converted to complete proteins. convert those to form complete proteins and spider mites will effectively be killed by the plant itself.

Does Azomite work as a good resource to remineralize the soils in gardening and container gardening?
Also, if you have a cover crop and you cut it down and layer the greens on top, how do you plant into the ground when the roots are all still there? Will they really all decompose over winter or within the month of spring that it's still cold, April early May time?
I have read a lot of detractors for The Ideal Soil v2.0 and having read intelligent gardener would I be wasting my money on this textbook as it's mostly the same information from what I have read? I can only find copies in the USA, based in Australia to get shipped would be around $140 AUD. Might see if I can find a PDF, any other recommendation would be great.
It's an interesting book, but for $140 I wouldn't recommend it. You'd be better off with other books

irrigation+rainfall = evaporation + transpiration + runoff + leaching
Which one of these processes do Farmers really have control over during the growing season? If you have the ability to irrigate your sandy soils and water is cheap and plentiful, then you are fortunate and have some control on the left side of the equation. If you do not have irrigation, you must look at the factors on the right side of the equation to see what can be controlled or minimized to benefit your crop. Evaporation from the soil surface can be reduced with mulch or leaving crop residue on the soil surface. Transpiration is a function of the plant leaf surface area and the weather. Runoff is or should be minimal in sandy textured soils with high percolation rates.
This leaves the leaching of water out of the root zone as the #1 controllable loss of moisture to your crop. Interrupting the downward movement of moisture in your soil by installing a "smart" barrier can greatly reduce the leaching of water and nutrients. SWRT subsurface membranes detain/retain up to 90% of irrigation or rainfall in the root zone for crop use by disrupting the gravitational movement of water in the soil while still allowing excess water to percolate and do not create anaerobic soil conditions.

Friends, please tell me, is it possible to use building gypsum for soil application? It is impossible to find natural gypsum for sale in central Russia.
I am not sure that building gypsum does not have other things in it after manufacturing.
@@indica_dogo868 there are claims that heat treatment of natural gypsum into stucco results in the release of heavy metals. It may be toxic. But I don't have concrete facts.
Cover cropping and a good compost is way more beneficial for plant production, as opposed to buying in plant applied products, and be utilised globally, and in poorer countries, from locally sourced inputs.
John I hope that you will share your face as well in future videos such as this. I believe this will help in engagement and connectivity with the audience and those who are sharing their faces as well.

I would say in the age of information we find ourselves in, John Kempf and the AEA team contribute more in this space than any other single crew. There is a business side, as there should be to anything in this space but the amount of value given FAR exceeds any investment someone gives to go deeper with AEA. I dont see johns choice to not show his face having even a minor impact on the open handed sharing. It’s for religious and cultural reasons. 👍🌱
