      And when you're 67 you buy a standup portable bathtub that can automatically drain or fill that fits inside your tub so you can stand and give your pom a bath standing up because once you're down it's hard to get up so easily 🤣 lol.

    As a groomer and Pom owner, I was very pleased with this video! I watched it out of curiosity and you did a fantastic job. I’ve got a couple additional tips that I hope you find useful.
    1) Get mixing bottles! They’re cheap and diluting the shampoo will help to get your more coverage which in turn will save you money on shampoo in the long run.
    2) Diluting also will help to weigh the product down and help penetrate the coat to get all the down to the skin, which is the part that you’re really wanting to be clean and help with skin issues.
    3) Rinsing the dilated product will be much easier. Not rinsing the product all the way out can cause skin issues.
    4) Conditioner! Dilute this as well :) conditioner is very important as you want to put moisture back into that beautiful coat and it will help cut down dry time.
    5) You can safely wash faces with a tearless/hypo allergenic shampoo. Dilute or use a wash cloth with it. READ THE INFORMATION CAREFULLY! Some “tearless” products aren’t actually tearless.
    6) Brushing while blow drying will help dry your dog faster, help get out matting and help remove that dead undercoat. Use a fine tooth comb after that through brush to remove any left over dead undercoat and mats (prone mat zones are behind the ears, arm pits and bum)
    Hope this helpful! Thank you for your wonderful videos ❤

      Thank you for all your tips and for taking the time to share your knowledge with others. I truly appreciate it! Interestingly, I had another video where I walked people through how to blow dry and groom a Pomeranian at home and I actually also talked about brushing them while blow drying to help speed up the process and using a fine comb to detangle their fur at the end haha! Do you wanna have a look at that video so maybe you can share more tips with me and others? I always wanna learn more from professional groomers to groom my Pom better!

    For the ear cleaning I would say just to follow the advice of your vet. I asked my vet whether I needed to use an ear cleaning solution and she said it wasn't necessary unless your dog is prone to ear infections. The ear is a self-cleaning organ after all and unless your dog is one of the exceptions, sometimes it's better to let their bodies naturally heal and work itself out rather than depending on external chemicals constantly. The same goes for anal gland expression.

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s interesting cos all the vets I’ve been to also recommend cleaning dog ears using this method. They even have leaflet handing out to dog owners outlining the steps that I’ve discussed in this video. But I definitely agree with youband don’t clean their ears too often though, probably once every 1-2 months on a needed basis when I see that it’s getting dirty and/or they’ve been scratching their ears frequently. 100% with you on the anal gland expression when needed only but owners should also pay attention to and know the signs that they are due for one or else it could get pretty ugly.

    We bought a portable bathtub for our Maltese. It is WONDERFUL and saves your back. It folds up and has a hose and plug in the bottom. Has pockets on the side and you can either put it inside your tub/shower, or have it outside. I do ours half inside and half outside the tub.
    I may try the ear stuff. Ollie just got rid of an ear infection so we pyt a piece of cotton ball in his ears during bath.
    Do you wash the face with the handheld? I watch another vroomer and she tilgs their head down and sprays their face after soaping it up with this wonderful facewash. My dog hates that so i use a washcloth.
    Thanks for the idea

      That sounds like a great idea! I will look into it but I'm not sure if we have the space for it given how tiny our NYC bathroom is lol! I only wash their face with the washcloth since mine hate getting their face washed too!

    • @CeceFamily

      I highly recommend investing in a hair dryer for Pomeranian or else it’s almost imposssible to dry this breed without one and leaving them damp and wet for too long might cause skin issue

    hello. I have a question. Can I use the last shampoo on all the baths or only if the pom has a skin condition?

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My vet tells us to use it on all of the baths just because of how prone ours are to skin allergies as a prevention and because the shampoo is pretty moisturizing itself but I think normally you can just use the first shampoo that I mentioned ❤️

    How many times a month are you supposed to bath a 15 weeks old puppy Pomeranian?

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  ปีที่แล้ว

      People have different opinions on how often we should bath a Pomeranian. Many people say you should only bath it once a month to avoid drying their skin out. However, in our experience, we find that giving them a bath once very 1-2 weeks (depending on how dirty they get) with moisturizing shampoo tends to be the most optimal, and that a Pom's dry skin is mostly the result of inadequate/low quality diet not of bathing.

    You should to get a shampoo mixing bottle and mix the shampoo with water in order to better distribute the shampoo or conditioner all over the pom.
