You would be so proud of me, this week my local thrift store had brand new with tags on clothing in my size !! this never happens, so I have 2 pant suits, 1 jean pant, 8 bathing suits, ( Maxine of Hollywood ) reg $100 each for $10 each, 2 sets of placemats. new. a pair of shoes in the box, new. Total cost retail. According to the tags, $1,000 I paid $115
Our thrifts and restore are not as cheap as you find deals there. I’m located in Springfield, MO area. HOWEVER, don’t forget the pay nothing groups and local small town facebook pages. My daughter moved into her first apartment on Thursday with only a bed for furniture. On Friday I ran across a post for a free sectional sofa in excellent condition, gray which would be her preference, 3 small areas on seams that needs to be stitched up. For FREE. She is so happy with it and I was so happy to help her out. It was only 2 miles from our house.
That sign about not eating the fake apples made me laugh. When my husband was little, he was with his mom shopping in a furniture store and popped a plastic grape in his mouth from one of the coffee table displays. His grandma that was with them said to his mom " for crying out loud Judy, don't you feed him?" 😂
The more thrift hauls I watch, the more I realize that people in my area don't donate nice stuff at all compared to what I see on TH-cam. Only rarely do I actually find anything good.
The best Goodwill, Saint Vincent DePaul and Salvation Army are 45 minutes for me. Sometimes you have to travel. Also things are constantly being put out on shelves. I have found some hidden gems behind other things. Just dedicate the time to really search for things. But if you have one thing in mind and they don’t have it walk out and go to the next thrift store. I have found some great things at the The thrift store that’s attached to the VA.
A few years ago, I had good finds. Not so much anymore. Don’t know if people are donating less(economy) or thrifts in my area have just become overpriced. I suspect a bit of both.
Beautiful stuff. I QUIT .I have neighbor who works for area bug sorayers. There are elderly highrise here known for bedbugs. He said...dont go to GoodWill!I stopped cold turkey..
Your garden reminds me of those cute little stationary store notecards that feature garden scenes of little bunnies, birds, rabbits, deer, and yes, even mice communing together in nature-only yours is the real thing.
I love the bird feeder by the window. That male finch was so happy to have some food! I need to hit the thrift stores to get some spring and summer decor. I love the ideas you have for growing seeds. You find the best deals. I may hit my 3 thrift stores tomorrow!
Love the deals! Thank you for the video. Can’t wait to start at garage sales. Last week there was snow on the ground and today it was in the 80s. Gotta love Wisconsin weather.
I have seen a catalog from that Gardners Supply Company. REALLY nice stuff but Super EXPENSIVE. So I have never bought from them. You got a great deal!
I’m in Wisconsin most of the thrift stores around here are pretty expensive occasionally you’ll go to one that has 50% off days and the deals are so so. The best deals I usually find are on my kids clothing.
Cool things you found 👍🏼I used to be in the thrift shops all the time , now I’m finding my self decluttering my house from all the shopping 😆. Feeling free from all those things I thought I need it . Retiring in six more years and I guess starting with less it would be a good transition . I do love decorating , I put so much effort of making my home cute and all decorated but found out no ones care 😒😆 so all that effort now is done no more decorating . Just looking forward to retire in Puerto Rico and starting new, just taking the time in what I love the most which is gardening and chickens☺️ just donated a bunch of things to the veterans of America and I hope they find a nice home that can be enjoyed ☺️. Love your vids even though I can’t thrift shop like I used to.
The spoiled meat will be a big problem in the coming months with the economy/stores are going to want to sell what they can. I just cooked 2 pork chops tonight from my grocery store Weis, and they were spoiled when I cut into them. They're going back on a plate that I'll drop off at customer service!
What a great find! Tawra, you seem to be feeling very much better after you moved from the other state to Montana. My mother used old windows, soil, leaves , and manure to make a cold frame. Shut at night and open during days. The first layer was manure from a farm with soil and leaves over it. The manure created heat, and she had so many tomato plants she was sharing with numerous neighbors. Back then they used bare root tomatoes, and the did great.4
I loved the custom tuxedo story. My son wore his high school prom suit all through college and eight years after he became an engineer. He finally had to give it up after the moths found it. We lived in California so he didn't have to wear a suit much.
I have great memories garage sailing and thrift store shopping with my mom but Al lot of the stores have closed here and the ones that remain are all chains and really overpriced
Those prices really are mind-blowing! I have been thrifting for most of my 78 yrs in many different areas, but I've never seen prices like these. I've found a lot of what I considered great buys, but not like this. Maybe you should start a few Airbnb's with thrift store tours as a side hustle. I'll be the first to sign up! 😁
We are very fortunate in our town to have good thrift stores and yard sales but it's just a matter of looking. Every town has different ways of saving so you just have to look.
Gosh, didn't realize you had such a big yard, no wonder you wanted that house, with all the room, inside and out, plus the garages. It's Lovely. Glad you finally got your dream home Tawra.
Your Thrift Stores are sure better than our's. Our's haven't got nearly any deals like those. I don't think people donate as much here at all. Better Luck on Marketplace. You really got Great deals, Good for you!!!!
Did you ever film the last of that huge house clean-up? Just wondered if I missed it. Was hoping to see the last of it. REALLY HOPE YOU DO MORE FILMING THERE.
I know that the deordernt that you're son perfers is over $7.00 dollars, that is pricey I agree but its something that he really likes. What's the harm of splurging to make him feel good? Your buying trinkets that make you feel good. I know what your thinking none of my business 😊
I’d have him pay the difference of the cheap versus what he wants. I’ve heard parents do that with jeans. My mom was extremely poor growing up so I had to buy all my own toiletries and school supplies when I was a teen.
Wowza!!! That suit was a super great bargain! Winner!! Jack will be going in style for sure! Love the clock & the white table & chairs! Lots of great finds! Very clever idea with the greenhouse using what you have! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

So true,I live in Seligman, Mo.
This song ran through my mind as you were talking about that suit, "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man!" 😊

Also I rarely find things that cheap anywhere!
One of our Goodwills gets brand new stuff that is overstocked from stores, but nothing is a bargain anymore.
🇨🇦Those prices are amazing!

You made a killing on the sheet metal. I got about twenty used sheets they work for my projects. Thankyou.
Our thrift stores are 3 or 4 times the price of yours. Good buys.

Yes that's why I was warning people I'm seeing a LOT of that type of stuff now! :-(
I love thrift store shopping! I don't see the prices you do yet still enjoy it!
Love your thrift store videos! Our thrift stores are full of overpriced junk.

Great deals!
The lantern you thrifted looks nice. 👍
But envious of the grow throughs.
I believe that was a purple finch. This morning I was visited by red crown parrots and an Altamira oriel. It’s a good day for the birds!

How on Earth do you find such inexpensive buys. I’m jealous.
We are very fortunate in our town to have good thrift stores and yard sales but it's just a matter of looking. Every town has different ways of saving so you just have to look.
The stuff from Gardener's supply...great deal for sure.
I live in California (between southern and central Calif.) and we got quite a bit of snow yesterday (April 14th).
Gosh, didn't realize you had such a big yard, no wonder you wanted that house, with all the room, inside and out, plus the garages. It's Lovely. Glad you finally got your dream home Tawra.

Hearing a KC and The Sunshine Band parity now …
Shake shake shake, shake shake shake
Shake your SEED PACK
I'm in Alberta Canada, and it's supposed to snow AGAIN!!!! her tomorrow or the next day. I've had with snow and cold this year.
We've noticed that thrift store prices have gone up quite a bit in our area of Michigan.😐
It was 86 degrees in NC today.
Did you ever film the last of that huge house clean-up? Just wondered if I missed it. Was hoping to see the last of it. REALLY HOPE YOU DO MORE FILMING THERE.
No we are still working on it. It will be June before it's done.
Great deals! Our stores charge so much more! Good job, Tawra!
Hi, Bandanna Gramma. Hope you and hubby are well. Miss seeing you on your channel.
Dang! Good job!
Asphalt is the hottest thing to walk on when barefoot. Oww oww.
That tux. Putting on the ritz.
I still pop into my local thrift stores to snoop. Those kinds of deals are not to be found anymore. Our stores have gotten pricey. 😕
Are you selling silk plant arrangements now?
Two for $6 great buy
I'm so excited for yard sales.Good job
My husband uses Old Spice deodorant and it doesn't cost that much here up North.
Leave it to Walmart. Maybe they need to write a sign that says “Don’t buy grey meat”.
That’s his tux for the rest of his life.
We don’t get that..
Great finds, as usual!
Those grow throughs are gold!!❤❤❤

I know she has the kids buy chips if they want more than what she’s bought. I think it’s a great idea
Beautiful suit!
Surely you don't expect your son to use cheap deodorant when he's wearing his $3,000 tuxedo to the school dance
I love the basket’s
Thanks!
Did you get a refund for the dang empty seeds!? I was waiting for her to say “just plant the packs!” 😂
Yes I did.
You're such a sweet friend. 🥰❤️🙏
Lovely pillow.
Jack what a great formal suit for you. Congratulations on finding it. Wear it with confidence. 😊
Wowza!!! That suit was a super great bargain! Winner!! Jack will be going in style for sure! Love the clock & the white table & chairs! Lots of great finds! Very clever idea with the greenhouse using what you have! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Love that clock
Great video 😊
Awesome score on that tuxedo!
❤
💕💗💕🙏🙏🙏 Wow! You sure hit the jackpot on this thrift haul. Praise The Lord!!!
Tawara, your hands and wrists and lower arms look swollen.
They are. :-)
