As we all know there is a five year time skip for Three Houses. But what causes it? This video shows it from the point of view of Edelgard with you on her side. To do this is a pain.
It speaks volumes how, in the other routes, Rhea sacrifices herself to save you and ends up throwing you asleep for five years, but in this one she is the cause of it the whole time.

The lack of polish in the Crimson Flower route is shocking. Instead of an actual cutscene to show the monastery collapsing we get two confusing shots of Hubert and Edelgard shouting professor like idiots and then cut to black. No explanation as to how you wound up on a river. Not to mention that the villager who finds you when you wake up refers to the archbishop as missing as she is in the other routes rather than in the kingdom. It’s as if the whole thing was an afterthought.
BlueChirri The villager does mention Imperial Troops in the monastery instead of thieves in the Crimson Flower route.
I wish the dlc offered polished versions of these scenes. I just got past this chapter and it's disappointing to find out the other routes are more polished
It is Silver Snow was the default route and then came Azure Moon and Verdant Wind. Crimson Flower was originally going to be a secret route.
Crimson Flower is the most unique route and thus they could reuse less elements for it. That's also why it has less cutscenes.

I don't know if you'll agree with me but I LOVE all of the houses, and I LOVE all of the Lords, yes including Edelgard and Rhea, and it's all the more heartbreaking that they can't have a mutual happy ending.
What if later down the line we'll get a DLC where you get the option to choose ALL the houses? I know it may not happen but......what if?

Me too, and not only the lords but the characters. Only a few one didn't catch my eye so far (Hilda, Rhea -screw her- and Gilbert). I find the others at least interesting. Can't wait for a DLC with a route where the Three Houses unite.
No, seriously. I preordered the Season Pass, so I don't care if it's in a DLC.
What I like is how the church isn't necessarily evil in this game.
no one in this game is truly evil, they just have different ideologies

That talk, between Edelgard and Rhea in the fight, really showed to me just how both of them TRULY believed in what they were doing. And really think what they are doing is right and they are fighting evil, so they have no choice but to to do 'evil' actions for the greater good. It's so different from past FE games i've played where the bad guys were just "MUHAHAHA KILLING PEOPLE IS JUST SO SPLENDIFFEROUSLY DELIGHTFULL >:D"

I think the morality of this game can be best summed up with a quote form YGOTAS: "morality isn't all cut and dry, even the best of people have a darker half to their personality and nobody is really perfect."
BlueFireDrakka that is only true if you are trying to assess a person’s morality, in total. In any specific point in time, morality is precise and clear.

Though in Rhea’s route, especially when romancing her, shed acknowledge her mistakes. Byleth really is an anchor for the lords + rhea.

Honestly, CF only needed a cutscene for the the timeskip. It was so vague and cheesy. However, the reunion is a good scene. No cutscene but it's not needed there. The tailtian plains incident does not need one either. But it would be cool

Yeah, CF couldn’t have the other route’s cutscenes because the story is so drastically different here, and the other 3 are rehashes of each other.

Man I love this path from what I'm seeing. Probably gonna make it my final (and most memorable??) playthrough. Maybe Blue Lions, Church, Golden Deer, Edelgard would be a good order. I just hope my excitement for this path holds out until then...
I personally thought about a Book Ends kind of playthrough: Church>Claude>Dimitri>Edelgard. Start with BE, finish with BE. I just can't deny all the implications of how important Edelgard is to the story. Heck the main theme of the game is about her.
I wish I left it for last cuz now I have to see her suffer alone and it makes me sad

Yeah, same here. I did Crimson Flower first, and now I’m trying to bring myself to go through verdant wind, and I know that my favorite character’s downfall will haunt me forever... or at least until I do Crimson Flower again.
Never play Azure Moon first, lots of people did, and they ended up as toxic fanboys/fangirls who see Edelgard as pure evil.

After looking at both ending I have a feeling that there must an actual true final boss either they gonna add it as dlc or maybe there another requirement.
I'm honestly kind of terrified they'll pull a Xenoblade 2 and just make a standalone prequel for the big final dlc.
Remember, there's is a story DLC in a next year during April..

After having seen the finale of the four routes (spoiled myself, I know), I have to say, I think this may be seen as the "true ending". The Fire Emblem series has more or less always had a foundation against religious fanaticism and often ended with deicide.

Seriously someone needs to do a Playthrough of this path cuz it looks interesting and this is why I’m Black Eagle Boy! I’m happy that I get to play as the villains for once.

What may look like a villain to one person might look like a hero to another. It's all in the viewer's perspective.

Here's how that would go:
Instead of Byleth watching the imperial army with contempt, it would be them and Edelgard standing before an exhausted Rhea, with Hubert in the background, keeping Claude at bay, while Dimitri struggles to keep up with Jeritza.
Rhea roars as she transforms, just like the event sequence, but Hubert tells Byleth to take cover before the castle crumbles, and they roll away from the debris just in time, but they're now separated from the young emperor.
Before Byleth can do anything, Thales appears.
"You shall not taint my creation any further, Fell Star" the Agarthan Warlock spits out hatefully, while casting a dark spell towards Byleth. They manage to evade the barrage, until they're standing on the edge of a cliffside.
They notice the Immaculate One flying off to the north, and hear Edelgard crying out "Professor!" but before he/she can rush to their student's aid, Thales corners them.
"I still have one chance left for my revenge!"
Thales proclaims, casting Quake Sigma.
The solid ground around Byleth gives way, and he/she falls out of sight, until the screen fades to black.
At least Edelgard doesn't treat Byleth like garbage in her reunion in her route, which is what Dimitri does in his route.
To be fair, he's suffering from ptsd, and murdering imperial soldiers didn't help
roninwarriorsfan And in her route, Edelgard has been at war and in a stalemate for five years, yet she isn't mean to her classmates and Byleth in their reunion.

Jorge Sanchez But Byleth was sort of her emotional crutch, though. As the scene showed, she felt a lot of guilt for losing Byleth for five years.
@@TMX1138 She wasn’t completely alone, she wasn’t betrayed by the last family member she had left and then deposed in a coup. She didn’t have to wander the countryside for five years, killing just to survive. He did. All of that happened to him.
Golden Deer is best route
Claude is the only one who doesn't seem to be evil or starting mass conflict/war, the enemy is actually evil, whereas Rhea isn't evil and neither is Edelgard but Nemesis is, and Marianne is just straight up best waifu

This was incredibly disappointing. Instead of getting cinematic, we only get a dialogue cutscene. How unsatisfactory. I sided with the Church, refusing to even play through Crimson Flower. I cannot believe the developers did not develop a scene for the timeskip.
If I recruit a character in this story before the time skip do I still have that character in this story

Yes. Ashe only leaves in SS/VW, and Lorenz only leaves in SS/AM. Lysithea can be recruited post-timeskip, without any need to recruit her beforehand.
Except Flayn, who leaves, yes. All the other who are not with you for story reasons in this route, you are unable to recruit them
How do you get the good timeskip? Do we have to boost support up to A rank with Edelgard?

1) you need to at least have C support with Edelgard.
2) during the 10th chapter, make sure to talk to her as much as possible. So basically exploring the monastery every Sunday, talk to her at every opportunity etc. etc.
Your goal is to reach a special event, in which she offers you to go with her to the Empire’s capital.
3) when she asks you to go with her to the capital to become Emperor, choose the “I’ll go with you” option. if you choose “I’ll stay.” You’ll automatically choose the church.
These are the three requirements that you need to join Edelgard. (By that order)
An An
Step 1: Lead the Black Eagles.
Step 2: Get Edelgard and Byleth to C+ support before chapter 10.
Step 3: Talk to Edelgard during chapter 11, and go with her to Enbarr.
Step 4: Choose to protect her after the conflict in the holy tomb.
Do all of these in order, and you’ll be on the best route.

No. Edelgard only lives in Crimson Flower, and Dimitri only lives in Azure Moon. That's why we find the night of the ball cutscene so frustrating, because we know that one or both of those two dancing lords will die, and we can't save them.

El wanted to wage war against the Monastery, more specifically, to Rhea. Rhea is a nutcase because she actually did cruel experiments to revive Sothis. Byleth, to Rhea, is just a lab rat.
El’s actions may be questionable, but she does have good intentions for it: to destroy the Crest system that prevented progress for Fódlan.
Yeah, can't fault them for not animating all the scenes for the EXTRA BONUS ROUTE
Not to mention half of the cutscenes are copy/pasted from each other.

In other words; 4/6 of Silver Snow's cutscenes, 2/5 of Azure Moon's cutscenes, and 5/9 of Verdant Wind's cutscenes are recycled. Crimson Flower can't do this because the story is COMPLETELY different from Chapter 11 onwards.
Oh, and let's not forget, before the timeskip, they have a lot of cutscenes as well.
