@@tori_amelie4618 I recruited a lot of people in my first route at the chapter 12 (last month), around that time you will have a lot of competences and support enough to recruit them, and if you lack those competences you can simply upgrade them by exploring the monastery and talking with the teachers/knights of Seiros. In the NG+ you can easily recruit a lot more

Collector Togami lol I don't have heart to do that :( I'm sad seeing Leonie, Ignatz, and Caspar died and Claude looks so sad :( that's why I asked you this hahaha sorry
You wouldn't have gotten one either, sadly - if didn't recruit her before the timeskip, Bernie's dead no matter what... because even if you manage to bypass her and take down Edelgard first, *Edelgard will kill Bernie herself* by using a firebomb to light up the hill and make sure the rest of her armies have a better chance with the battle in her absence; it's literally that you either kill her yourself or watch her get blown up by her own friend T_T
How's it end? Does everyone die? Do the mole people use a nuke? Does Rhea realize her faults? I don't mind spoilers for this route, I've never been a big fan of zealots.
@@DemonicMonkey88 Yeah everyone dies pretty much, most of all the armies get wrecked resulting in mutual annihilation. It's left a bit ambiguous/ we don't explicitly hear that Dimitri and Claude are dead, but they never show up again so there's that. Edelgard barely survives, is carried back to Enbarr in a stretcher and then you basically finish her off as she wistfully wishes you would've stuck with her. It's the same cinematic as in The Alliance route but like a bunch of dialogue lines that show up in multiple routes it comes off a bit different in context (like vs. Claude with their fairly sportsmanlike pre-battle Dialogue) it comes off more as "You know full well the transistion of power will go smoother with me gone" whereas in the church route where she laments about not winning you over when you engage her, she just comes off utterly resigned and heartbroken) If you gave her the choice she'd probably prefer this to the Kingdom route one where neither long-term threat is dealt with, but it's sort of the ending that does her the dirtiest on a personal level because everyone abandons her and blames her for loads of crap she didn't do - for all that they still end up fighting to the death Claude and Dimitri are a *whole lot* more fair to her... (To some extent it's that she simply doesn't want to end up at anyone's mercy due to her backstory, they'd probably have let her go if she asked for it) It's probably the route with the most immediate collateral damage, but at least both the mole people and Rhea get taken out of the equation (She either dies anyway, or, if you S support her, admits most her wrongdoings (including manipulating all of politics and fabricating a false history and that she was gleefully hoping Byleth to become a meat puppet) and gets a redemption of sorts/ seems to see the error of her ways enough not to cause further trouble) That said one of the things you find out in the Church route is that Seteth was almost completely innocent, that Rhea didn't kill Byleth's mom (it really WAS death by childbirth, but allowing Jeralt to view the body would have revealed some sensitive secrets, namely that Byleth's mom was an artificial homunculus created by Rhea to be a meat-puppet for Sothis, the 12th attempt in total) and that the zealotry was pretty much all Rhea, also there's some interesting family dynamic type interaction between Byleth Flayn and Seteth. Seteth continues to rule the church like a perfectly sane, reasonable person assuming that Rhea would have done the same an none of them ever realize that Edelgard actually did them one hell of a solid by getting her out of the way. Can't blame them for siding with their sister/aunt tho esp since they don't know her shady dealings.
@@KendrixTermina Yeah, after Golden Deer route, I figured as much. Rhea sounded like she was punishing the people. Poor Edelgard though, no wonder the game's theme is actually about her. I assumed Seteth had little to do with it, considering the tidbits of info I managed to get, like how he wasn't around when Jeralt worked for Rhea, but wow... At least she saw the error of her ways, pity everyone else will go on believing otherwise.
Bernadetta's death still haunts me damn it 😭😭😭😭😭 I regret not being able to recruit everyone on my Blue Lions run. I won't make the same mistake again in my Golden Deers run and soon Black Eagles and Church run
This battle is amazing, but it REALLY sucks you don't get to do this battle from all of the different perspectives in the other routes. I was looking forward to it in my Black Eagles playthrough, and it never came.
Ikr? The Church route makes you feel guilty for not joining in when Gilbert asked. I could have at least prevented Dimitri's death in that sh*t. *DAMN YOU SETETH*
It just wouldn't make sense because the Empire already occupied not only Gronder Field, but also the Great Bridge and the monastery, so there was practically no way start a battle deep into Empire territory
38:57 Aw come on Fleche. You should have been prepared for something like this to happen. Dimitri, although he was a little crazy, didn’t really do much wrong. This is war.
Tbf, after realizing your brother died while being mentally tortured and his "possible" murder still lived, I doubt anyone would care about this being war.
I hate this part, it's too sad. I'm here screaming at the game going "WHY MUST I KILL RAPHAEL AND BERNADETTA?!" IS really know how to make you feel things, nice job! Edit: CLAUDE HAS LINES TO SAY WHEN THEIR FRIENDS FALL?! AAAAH IT HURTS!!
The best part about Bernadetta is that, if you don´t kill her, Edelgard will burn her to death alongside the ballista, that if the other army doesn´t slaughter her instead, feeling bad for not recruiting her?
SPOILERS FROM THE CRIMSON FLOWER ROUTE DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'RE OKAY WITH ME SPOILING IT Oh so it's not okay for Edelgard to set someone on fire but it's perfectly justified for Rhea to set an ENTIRE CITY FULL OF PEOPLE on fire?
The only fight where in this game has a lose-lose-lose situation lol if u fight Claude usually u run out of magic and gambits or healing to fight the empire, if you take the fort the fort ends up in flames and reduces movement while at the same time Claude is flying and can snipe anyone who is unlucky enough to get hit. Then u have a war with 2 fronts. If u decide to go around the fort on the left u waste alot of exp when the empire and the alliance duke it out.
Is there a way to spare the other army? Im doing a playthrough with claude and I avoided fighting Dimitri only focusing on edelgard and you still end up fighting Dimitri, I wonder if there is a way to let them live.
I redid the battle 3x and eventually gambit rushed my entire team to edelgard's side and wiped her out in 3 turns using the left most path but still got declared war on by Golden Deer
I never initiated combat against the BL‘s army (though they did against me (Claude‘s army)) and I managed to defeat Edelgard but at the end Dimitri just ended up dying after that war. Hilda came to me and simply said Dimitri ran after Edelgard and got killed and I was like wtf why.
you could recruit bernie and petra so you dont have to kill them, rush edelgard so she withdraws first, then when claude rushes you, you kill him only, so when he retreats the battle ends, since all the commanders left
So from what I’ve observed, Edelgard does some nasty things like murder to achieve her goals. And Dimitri is a psychopath who wants everyone that looks at him funny to die. Claude however, has no moral faults. Why would we not pick the Golden Deer again?
It's really ironic too. Pre-timeskip, Claude was known as the "Schemer" whereas Edelgard and Dimitri appeared to have a very strong code of honor. Turns out, the true schemer was Edelgard all along, and Dimitri's "honor" was to hide his more violent nature from others, as well as himself. At least, that's what I took from all of this.
Rodrick Goldberg Claude is a dick but yeah he really is the most normal Lord in this game. I’m amazed he turned out as well as he did being next to Dimitri and Edelgard for an entire year. Can you imagine being around people like that for an entire year?
The solution to the death new game plus and just recruit everyone leaving only the 2 leaders or 3 depending on your choice earlier in the game and their retainer except claude because you can recruit hilda leaving only him
I love how u let dimitri run off on his own to kill ppl and everyone died cus he was your strongest fighter by far, its actually pretty accurate. Ik its casual mode but its haunting to think that dimitri would have probablu been perfectly fine if his whole army died her just to get a shot at edelgard
Greenedge That’s why I did CF first. Not only because it’s my favorite house, and my favorite character is the house leader, but also so when I do the lesser paths, I don’t have to kill Every Last One of my favorite characters, especially Bernie.
This wasn’t so bad for me honestly, if you send all your units over the bridge on the far right on Edel’s side and focus on taking that side out while the other side starts fighting each other. That way, when Claude sends reinforcements they won’t be able to surround you. At first I tried taking the center area but I got trapped, then I tried sending two groups on opposite sides and got easily overwhelmed lol, overall i thought it was a fun map.
The reinforcements and traps on this map are brutal. Not to mention units like Petra are insanely strong. Edelgard isn't kidding around when she said, she'd make the battlefield chaotic. Adjusting your strategy to what happens is key to winning
It's hilarious how sad Edelgard is that everyone was old friends and are now forced to KILL each other, when SHE'S THE ONE who started this shit and dragged everyone else into it. Like, bitch WHAT?! If you cared so much about friendship and shit, then why start a pointless fucking war?

@@tori_amelie4618 I recruited a lot of people in my first route at the chapter 12 (last month), around that time you will have a lot of competences and support enough to recruit them, and if you lack those competences you can simply upgrade them by exploring the monastery and talking with the teachers/knights of Seiros.
In the NG+ you can easily recruit a lot more

This chapter never happens should you side with Edelgard. The war ends much sooner, and the world changes for the better.
Is it possible if we only crush Edelgard's army (because they're the enemy) and leave Claude's army (the third party)? Will Claude's army still attack us?
I would hope we'd just need to defeat Edelgard. But if not, the victory conditions only would then be Edelgard and Claude - no one else.
They’re labeled as enemies but they’re just in the middle of this so maybe?
Most likely, Claude sounds confused and or slightly hurt that you're attacking his army before Edelgard's

Did y’all know that edelgard’s tile set is always a heart.
This entire game has hurt me in ways I didn’t know I could be hurt.
The way this battle ends up, although you don't participate in it, on Church route, is pretty scary actually.
Claude with their fairly sportsmanlike pre-battle Dialogue) it comes off more as "You know full well the transistion of power will go smoother with me gone" whereas in the church route where she laments about not winning you over when you engage her, she just comes off utterly resigned and heartbroken)
If you gave her the choice she'd probably prefer this to the Kingdom route one where neither long-term threat is dealt with, but it's sort of the ending that does her the dirtiest on a personal level because everyone abandons her and blames her for loads of crap she didn't do - for all that they still end up fighting to the death Claude and Dimitri are a *whole lot* more fair to her... (To some extent it's that she simply doesn't want to end up at anyone's mercy due to her backstory, they'd probably have let her go if she asked for it)
It's probably the route with the most immediate collateral damage, but at least both the mole people and Rhea get taken out of the equation (She either dies anyway, or, if you S support her, admits most her wrongdoings (including manipulating all of politics and fabricating a false history and that she was gleefully hoping Byleth to become a meat puppet) and gets a redemption of sorts/ seems to see the error of her ways enough not to cause further trouble)
That said one of the things you find out in the Church route is that Seteth was almost completely innocent, that Rhea didn't kill Byleth's mom (it really WAS death by childbirth, but allowing Jeralt to view the body would have revealed some sensitive secrets, namely that Byleth's mom was an artificial homunculus created by Rhea to be a meat-puppet for Sothis, the 12th attempt in total) and that the zealotry was pretty much all Rhea, also there's some interesting family dynamic type interaction between Byleth Flayn and Seteth.
At least she saw the error of her ways, pity everyone else will go on believing otherwise.
dimitri's crest effect "activates" and gets a crit. talk about an overkill.
When you go save Claude at deridru, he just forgives you for killing Raphael and Ignatz? That’s strange tbh

I like the Dimitri BEST Quotes it so EPIC!!!
At least you can in Verdant Wind
Interesting, on someone else’s Blue Lion LP they had Petra in their side, so an Imperial General took her place
*WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER ~*

38:57 Aw come on Fleche. You should have been prepared for something like this to happen. Dimitri, although he was a little crazy, didn’t really do much wrong. This is war.

This was the hardest chapter for me so far lol
Now I just want to cry.
This battle was such a pain, I did BL route, I tried to avoid Claude’s army but i end up losing Dorothea and Gilbert
I don't want spoilers but I saw Felix and couldn't help myself...
Is there a way to spare the other army? Im doing a playthrough with claude and I avoided fighting Dimitri only focusing on edelgard and you still end up fighting Dimitri, I wonder if there is a way to let them live.
Nope, gotta take out both commanders. I tried the same thing.
This was really frustrating because it almost seemed like were hinting that it was possible.
Is Claude really the most mentally stable of the three?
It's really ironic too. Pre-timeskip, Claude was known as the "Schemer" whereas Edelgard and Dimitri appeared to have a very strong code of honor.
Turns out, the true schemer was Edelgard all along, and Dimitri's "honor" was to hide his more violent nature from others, as well as himself. At least, that's what I took from all of this.
@@UnlimitedMrX With his plans? What about the morally grey areas for both?
Friendship ends with Edelgard and Dimitri.
Claude is my new buddy now
Rodrick Goldberg Claude is a dick but yeah he really is the most normal Lord in this game.
I'll never know the sting of killing Bernadetta. Recruited her first in both Blue Lions and Golden Dear.
Greenedge
That’s why I did CF first. Not only because it’s my favorite house, and my favorite character is the house leader, but also so when I do the lesser paths, I don’t have to kill Every Last One of my favorite characters, especially Bernie.
Damn, you almost lost that one. This looks brutal AF
Oh this fight is absolutely insane. Just pure chaos and it’s pretty challenging.
It is pretty tough. Petra/Felix in particular was scary af!
The reinforcements and traps on this map are brutal. Not to mention units like Petra are insanely strong. Edelgard isn't kidding around when she said, she'd make the battlefield chaotic. Adjusting your strategy to what happens is key to winning
on this map, it really is best to just travel as one. i tried splitting up a few times and kept running into danger
34:46 I laughed when the dark beast only harmed Edel 😂
I really really loved the battalion system. It was visually immersive and fun to play with as well. I hope it comes back in the next game.
But it's unbalanced, there's literally no consequence for using it because the enemy can't counterattack
I gotta say, I just realized the parallels between “that day” and this day
Thankfully i didn't have to kill Leonie and Bernie cause i recruited them before the timeskip.
That's why I never wanna fight Lysithea: not just cause I love her and don't want her to die, but because she would pulverize me.
Meanwhile enemy Lysithea on Maddening: How about "YOU CAN'T WIN"?
03:21 so like drama
It's hilarious how sad Edelgard is that everyone was old friends and are now forced to KILL each other, when SHE'S THE ONE who started this shit and dragged everyone else into it. Like, bitch WHAT?! If you cared so much about friendship and shit, then why start a pointless fucking war?
thw war was not pointless it was needed.
