As someone that loves to make people laugh in my own videos, mostly using songs I write, I appreciate his insight. The stuff I do may seem silly to others but it was a thought out process and not just random nonsense.

Something is happening to Coogan's accent. He's losing his voiceless stop consonant and making it a d, like the old school DJ's, including...Dave Clifton!
If you check much older interviews with Americans he'll start picking up American accent habits. When he's back on British soil, he goes British.

When did Steve Coogan start speaking in an American accent
He doesn't speak with an American accent now.
There is a small island halfway across the Atlantic ocean. Here on the island transatlantic English is spoken freely, without judgement. The current head of the island is Mark Ronson. Ronson is said to have the best example of this very specific twangy tongue. Together they charm people on both sides of the pond and therefore appeal to both the Rich Tea and the Cookie all at once, in gloriously, biscuity harmony.
