In 2020/21 the US exported just over 990 million bushels of wheat, and in the same period imported 100million metric tonnes. At around 37 bushels to the tonne, you do the math.
I saw that statistic in the description of a Statista chart. The author had mistakenly labeled 100 million bushels as 100 million metric tons, though the bar chart above reports data solely in millions of bushels and indicates we export far more than we import as a country. If I convert back to million metric tons based on 37bu/ton, the report shows that we've exported 26.8MMT of wheat and imported 2.7MMT. Statista is a third-party source, so you'll want to go to the USDA for the official data. U.S. Wheat Associates is also a trusted source that publishes detailed reports on imports and exports: www.uswheat.org/wp-content/uploads/SD_220408-2.pdf

how do they deal with rain ?? does the loading of shops stops ???
As far as I understand, rain isn’t a factor to worry about when loading vessels.
