Legit video! I grew up in SF doing the same stuff in the 80's. How am I still alive?? We traveled the city for the hills. We had wide boards, loved my Duane Peters, Hosoi, and Powell Peralta boards! Im glad young people are keeping the skate culture in SF alive!
@@black.pewdiepie415 Colman sliding is how you stop when bombing the hills of SF. Colman invented the slide in the 80-90's. aka back side powerslide (with one sliding glove). He has tutorials up on youtube from the VHS days.
This documentary kat with the fade Mullet haircut marioooo pretty dope I got to give it up I stopped listening to music all together but some Bay Area Rap that was slapping!!dope content had my undivided attention & that's hard to do in 2024 salute 🫡
I can understand people not wanting skateboarders using their houses but I can also appreciate being young, fearless & free. Sounds like another really cool sub-culture of our amazing City.
That sucks crashing into a car and breaking your hand because the kid in front of you is foot dragging the whole way. Don’t even go down it if you’re gonna do that you’re just a liability to everyone else. It’s like people that go way too slow on a highway, it’s dangerous.🤦🏻
Seeing these guys and thinking what a time to be young lol and I’m just 33. I loved all of this, man. Brings nostalgia- even with the early camera type footages. Owl is soo chill.
This was awesome, I remember the first time my friend bombed down Lombard and thought no one could top that. We grew up in Vallejo and back in 2000 we used to skate down Oakwood Ave just to get to school since walking sucked downhill. Also Doncaster Dr. was a great beginners hill for anything you wanted to test out i.e. long boards, homemade street luges (remember those on Xgames?), trash cans, bikes shout out to anyone in the area that remember this, I'm still doing some speed things, but on ebikes. Vallejo was a really hilly place too more for beginners type compare to SF but watch out for shit being thrown at you.
@2:56 Interesting documentary... but TBH this is why people get annoyed at skaters. Leave other people's property alone Bruh cmon. Asshole move and I don't blame the old guy for telling him to cut it out.
Use wheels and bearings that are slow because fast wheels will kill you! But even slow wheels can be too fast depending on the hill! Know your limits and live to skate another day.😮
During a Skate trip with my french homies, we were at the Hotel just at the place where Pablo was hit by the Truck... We were all shocked when we saw the news back in France 😢😢😢 RIP P Spliff ❤
Stoked is stoked, but bruh... first thing any serious downhiller learns is to wear a pair of gloves... then comes the realization that a motorcycle helmet, leathers and gloves with pucks are a WAY better idea than an open face skate dome and shredded hands. The Maryhill crowd made these guys look like ametures a dozen years ago. How has skating downhill gone backwards?

Literally such a professional way of capturing these stories and visuals! Enjoyable to watch fs fs! The vibes!!!
I knew this was gonna be dope when the Potrero section started with that cellski joint banging!!!
Man, this was cool. Def didn't expect it to end with the homie shouting out David Goggins tho. Also, a skater rear-ending a Prius is Frisco as hell.
I got smoked by a Tesla on my Boosted Board......THAT may be the MOST SF ever....😂😂😂(*true story)

Larry June - Off The Dribble
My last run to downtown, had my board sliding down on the left hand turn....
My favorite was the down the driveway from Lone Mountain (USF) to Nizario's pizza (in 2002 it was open until 2am)
I lived at the bottom of 17th and Eureka. I'd always hear people yelling when they made it
Lucky you.
Shoulda got some of the boys from GX onnis dope video either way
Those guys are rich and famous now. Not the vibe for this video.

How do they not get speed wobbles 😟
tighten your trucks to the max and practice control/slow-down techniques.
You can also get wheel bearings with speed ratings that limit or accelerate your speed. this helps a lot
that drone footage @ 14:00 though straight Baymous
Dope vid, love from nob hill SF
Appreciate it!!

What kind of bearings are they using? ceramics?
Dude going over the Prius was crazy damn haha

I heard if you start getting speed wobbles put more weight on your rear foot. Not sure if that's true.
