Sir, if you have the slide locked back with no loaded mag in the mag well, it is very hard on the pistol to just hit the slide release and let the action slam closed. It’s especially hard on the extractor. It’s your pistol and you’re obviously welcome to do as you wish, but I’m just hoping to save you some future troubles.
@@UnstoppableYaris I am new to 1911’s myself, but got up the nerve to take it completely apart and put it back together, I mean every screw , love to see how the different guns work. A little nervous, but did it. Good for a detailed cleaning
@@lens7859 Excellent! Starting small... Just ordered a steel mainspring housing to replace the cheap plastic one that came with this gun. Stay safe my friend!
Just picked one up and this video helped me with my first 1911. Thank you Mr. Yaris!!
I love to hear that... Even though I missed a part when splicing LOL. Stay safe bud!

Good job. I am waiting for my LGS to get one of these in.
Thanks a lot, so far no issues whatsoever after hundreds of rounds and 2 or 3 cleanings. Hope you get one!

@@UnstoppableYaris This is the way it is supposed to go, good job gents.
Great vid..thx
Thanks for the kind words man, stay safe!
Please keep in mind with this particular model not to depress the grip safety after you remove the slide lock. Other than that great video.
OK, just tested mine and it works fine even with a depressed grip safety... You may have an issue with yours.
Trying to push it down on the foam pad didn’t help, I’m sure you could do it without the tool on your workbench
Aha, you got something there! Thanks for the advice, I thought I have gotten really old there LOL.

Pro tip- use the lip on the bottom of the magazine. That's why it's there
