Hey Knox, I made it here through the rabbit hole since Houdini dropped last week. I love your channel. When I was 13, I completely by chance stumbled onto Mockingbird on a streaming site. I was hooked on Em from the moment I heard him. I always had my headphones on and it was 95% of the time his music playing. He was so controversial at the time, everyone made fun of me for listening to him and I just never gave a single shit. His music has got me through so many, so many, so many dark times. I love words. I love lyrics. I love beats. I spent hours and hours and hours dissecting what he was saying, researching so I could understand the context, his life, who he is. He has been an inspiration to me beyond words on such a profound level. He is my favourite artist of all time. I saw him live in London in 2018, I spent my whole salary on getting myself there with my best friend. I cried the entire show, just out of pure emotion to hear him live, live the songs live. big is technical flow switch ahead, so smooth, pac is about passion and self awareness. eminem kissed a lightning bolt and have 20 years more studio experience. pac and big was in the studio to elevate their life outside of it. em just lives there as a mad scientist. pretty much like canibus is/was 00-10. thing is canibus as something meaningful to say. em on the other hand ? killing the alphabet doesn't makes a message relevant. snoop was right in the end. and fuck em ''the way i am'' is literally dungeon music from zelda 1. give me a mic and ill teach this freak some manners about the way he treats his mother. I've seen the mirror, peasants reading, facts disappearing, a scene of mordor, absinth drinks and murder scenes, a touch of dystopian synth and rendering the obscene obsolete. in 1 mean scheme to redeem 1self and dead em but you don't know what i mean so you still live in this dead end or on the shelf
@@vicslayer9130 all these things you say pac and biggie does, Em has done too. However the way he raps might just not resonate with you as a person, the way he expresses himself that is.

I can see Knox Hill having his own show like funk flex featuring rappers... He can break down anything and is so up to date with the current drama. I like his speaking voice too 🙏🏾‼️
Eminem is taking everyone to school, showing the depths of lyricism and pressuring rappers into improving the rap game, not devaluing it like mumblers do.
Just the title of this album has so much meaning. A Kamikaze is a term from ww2, where pilots would intentionally crash planes into warships. The planes were strapped with enough bombs to hopefully destroy the ship, but of course the pilot would die too. It's a trade of one life for many, many more enemy lives. So essentially Em is saying that yeah, he intends to take everybody out with this album - all the mumble rappers, the press, the media, his fake fans and haters - but he knows that to do that he also destroys himself in a way, because he'll be called petty & out of touch & whatever else. The Ringer as an opening song really sets up this concept.
The E-V-I-L line is a refference to his lyric from Space Bound where he said "love is evil spelled backwards" and then he got a lot of shit for "not knowing how to spell". That's why there's an adlib saying "evil, spell" right after he says E-V-I-L.
I like how he say " I look in a MIRROR . . . POSSIBLY I'm dead" and mentions being possessed then says like an evil spell I'm E.V.I.L but in a mirror evil looks like live. Kinda like he's possed trying to communicate through a mirror ( but possibly can't cause he can't see his breath or something) Wouldn't be surprised if that's an omega reach lol but regardless I like to interpret it that way even though it's probably not true.
This line "Get this fuckin' audio out my Audi, yo, adiós" has 3 different words but they all sound the same and well crafted in a sentence, he's truly a wordsmith.
I swear I must've watched at least 30 reactions videos to this, and you still bring new knowledge and new bars to the table. 40 minutes went by in a heartbeat. Listening to you is such a pleasure. You're the best there is at what you do on this platform, no exaggeration whatsoever. I'm one of your biggest fans. Much love, Knox

Yo Knox. I’ve been on Em since slim shady lp. I’m 36 and always have always will love Em. Thank you for helping me understand him to an even deeper level. Your dissections are next level brother 👌
A lot of people have criticized Eminem about reading the dictionary, but him getting picked on as a kid and wanted to be a rapper with all his heart and soul ,drove him to read that dictionary and In doing so, he figured out how to bend words and make certain words rhyme that actually shouldn't/He's a rapping genius!
Hey bro, I just got this and I actually haven't seen anyone else get it but when he says "your 10 cents are 2," its actually a callback to "Without Me" where he said "here's my 10 cents, my 2 cents are free." Em is a genius
As an aspiring writer/lyricist, these videos are incredibly inspirational. I think demonstrating that Em is one of the most intelligent and conscientious MCs, but he is human and this stuff is possible, is such a wonderful service for people who want to emulate.
Your flow in the opening track is soooooo dope! I love it, and I love watching your reactions. Not only do you break down rap but also the production and how they work together. I haven't really seen that anywhere else so thank you!
No need to rewind just the intro, he normally puts a link to the full song in description listen to the whole banger then! Soon as I'm paid I'm preordering my copy of the album 💯 🔥
Have heard this song at least 100-150 times since it released. When I recently saw this video, I thought what new can I learn about this song. Imagine my surprise when I learnt at least 5 new bars which I had never caught before. Well done and thank you!
Umm #23 is also a master of "ringers". Saying he is the Michael Jordan of the rap game as long as your paying attention... WTF!!! So much content in this song.
“Fire engine green, Aquamarine” I mean come on, “Aqua” is water. Aquamarine is a bluish-green color. Fire engines has water in it. bruh, just love this song even though it’s been a while since he released it.
Finally someone who understand everything em has to say. I do. I breakdown every lyric to myself and when my friends are all like bro why tf do you like em cause his bars go over their heads. This is why. Everything he says makes me think. And figure out his messages. Love the breakdown maybe more people will get it 👍
I actually love that you never did a lot of these songs when everyone else did because years later we're still getting amazing Em reactions!! Also I've been waiting to hear if you thought he dissed NF lol.
3:15 He says "I BREATHE ON THE MIRROR" "POSSIBLY IM DEAD" "SPELLED EVIL" on a mirror EVIL=LIVE. "THE OLD HIM KILLED THE NEW HIM" maybe to the naked eye but the genius of em has multiple meanings in most of his lyrics.
“I breathe on the mirror, I don't see my breath, possibly I'm dead, I must be possessed, like an evil spell, I'm E-V-I-L” he’s in the mirror, evil in the mirror backwards is l-i-v-e, maybe he’s saying “he’s live” or maybe “alive” as a playoff on the “possibly I’m dead” bar 🤔🤯 or maybe neither and I’m just looking too deep but that’s why I love lyricists who’s music always has a deeper meaning rather than mumble rap
I used to be subsribed to several music reaction/breakdown channels, until I found yours. None of the others have as much knowledge about music composition, history and references/entendres that you do. You are very much appreciated!

Your channel really deserve more viewers and subscribers. Please do some of the older dope songs too. P.s you are not a bad rapper yourself😊
In the EVIL Spell line “I’m EVIL”. I also thought to myself, he’s the Evil in Bad meets Evil. Royce is the Bad. Reach? Edit* EVIL the EVI looks like EM based off the “Hell the Sequel” album cover.
I've tried to listen to other reactions and no one does reactions like you. The way you break down the actual raps and explain it so us normal ppl can understand it. Appreciate your reactions
Knox..I have been searching for over 2 years trying to find someone who can break this shit down that EM does.. To say you do a phenomenal job is an understatement. I cannot thank you enough for these videos I’ve been watching of you the past week. I’m just sorry I was late to your party. And you better believe I’ll be subscribing and purchasing your music. Yo shout out to one of the best placed ads. “Camera about to die, we will be right back” *Ad plays* “And okay we’re back” Salute to you for not putting it on the middle of a bar haha
Em is so under-rated and misunderstood in so many ways because he is the prime example of someone who was beat up by a shitty life, backed into a corner and faced with the decision to be broken or cowboy up and fight back. He's super intelligent and is by nature a more quiet and reserved person so he spends a lot of time with just being in his own head and in his thoughts. Those traits mixed with the fire forged by refusing to be broken and a natural gift for rapping made Em what he is and that my friend is a LEGEND. Love him or hate you have to respect his talent.
I didn’t know a thing about hip hop just a month ago but got curious recently. Your videos are teaching me how to appreciate the subtleties of this art. Thank you!
Hey Knox, thank God you showed up on my feed.. I've been waiting for someone to get into the explaination of Em's lyrics. I'm a big fan of Em and though I listen to him, I never really listened to him and made sense of half the stuff that he said nor had the time to break it down like you do so I appreciate it and what you do.
I genuinely I’m stunned once again. “Nod to the beats” as in “nod off” “Skim thru the music” was a reference to Renegade with Jayz when he says “do you fools listen to music or do you just skim thru it” Whole damn song is just so cold!!
The Thames used to have an Ice (Frost?) Fair because it froze over every year for like 200 years. It ended in 1844 I think? The last time the Thames froze was 1963.

First time here. Gotta say, 'if you ever wanna pick up a girl quote eminem..' killed me lol. As a songwriter the multiple meanings Em exploits our minds with is incredible. Really love the way you broke this down and the way you caught almost everything, meaning and all was impressive and great to watch. Great job! This is how I would describe Eminem, and I have to use the words of the greatest wordsmith in literary history, somebody who I believe Eminem is a modern day version of, Niche! And this quote is the same amazing, once in a lifetime ability - *Niche - 'I only need a sentence to explain what other writers need a book to explain, maybe not even a whole sentence...* : that is Eminem also!
You have become one of the main people I go to for breakdowns of lyrics, because aside from being able to break all the different rhyme schemes, double and triple entendres, different flows etc, it takes a lot of knowledge to be able to get so many different political, historical, and in general world events, so I have full respect for what you are able to do, and are able to help us become better at it as well. Thats one of the reason I have so much respect for true lyricists/mc's because they are incredibly smart people, on top of being insanely creative with being able to produce such unique and amazing lyrics, which not only sound incredible to listen to, but they are also able to say exactly what they want, while still making you bob your head to it and, in a way, subconsciously make you think about it more and more into the future because it sticks with you. Being able to do things like this, both with creating it and also being able to break it all down, it is a science in and of itself, and I'm glad there are still people who keep the true meaning and purpose of rap alive. Another great video Knox, my head is smoking as well after all of that, but it always puts a smile on my face to hear pure talent like this, both from Em and from you :)
I'm so happy i found your channel brother! Mad respect for how you break down the lyrics and respect greatness when its due. You got a new follower for life!

"But they've been putting me through the ringer. So I ain't ironin' shit out with the press. But I just took this beat to the cleaners." In order to iron clothes you have to press down on the iron to get the wrinkles out. Eminem could also be saying that he has to apply pressure to the rap game (i.e. dissing other rappers and rapping aggressively) in order to get the wrinkles out (i.e. mumble rappers) and return hip hop to its previous state (i.e. pristine condition). Plus, he continues the cleaning scheme for 4 bars with the words "ringer" "ironin'" "press" and "cleaners". This is what I love about Eminem. Even though, I've heard this song dozens of times, I still catch something new with each listen. This man is truly talented, however people are quick to hate on him and attempt to discredit his lyrical ability. Thank you Knox for these amazing Bar breakdown videos and bringing attention to lyricism in its purest form via Eminem. big is technical flow switch ahead, so smooth, pac is about passion and self awareness. eminem kissed a lightning bolt and have 20 years more studio experience. pac and big was in the studio to elevate their life outside of it. em just lives there as a mad scientist. pretty much like canibus is/was 00-10. thing is canibus as something meaningful to say. em on the other hand ? killing the alphabet doesn't makes a message relevant. snoop was right in the end. and fuck em ''the way i am'' is literally dungeon music from zelda 1. give me a mic and ill teach this freak some manners about the way he treats his mother.

A nuisance, who sent, you sent for me?
When this dude breaksdown a song you listened to lile 10000 times and you didnt realize 90% of it

The E-V-I-L line is a refference to his lyric from Space Bound where he said "love is evil spelled backwards" and then he got a lot of shit for "not knowing how to spell". That's why there's an adlib saying "evil, spell" right after he says E-V-I-L.
But if you see closely the pronunciation of EVIL is EVOL which is love back words idk

I like how he say " I look in a MIRROR . . . POSSIBLY I'm dead" and mentions being possessed then says like an evil spell I'm E.V.I.L but in a mirror evil looks like live. Kinda like he's possed trying to communicate through a mirror ( but possibly can't cause he can't see his breath or something)

I absolutely agree he catches literally EVERYTHING and puts a spin on it from a rappers prospective talking about the music AND bars
But people be in the comments talking about how it’s not a “natural reaction video”. Knox gets into the depths of the song on every level.
Well said!

Btw, sorry for the long comment Knox ( if you ever see this), just wanted to throw my two cents into the conversation.
