Jinxs character ark makes this series relatable and rewatchable, endlessly due to my own shit, but silco surpasses her to be my favorite because his character ark is astounding and beautiful with its parallels, him finally understanding Vanders choices to prevent hurting children. Or atleast, for him, jinx. He is my favorite villain and character of all time. But uhhh don't look up his VA on tik tok cause spisak is encouraging a sexual daddy complex Fandom that is most likely mainly minors. Made me sad and just yuck.
But silco is beautifully executed and as perfect as every orchestrated parallel in characters, or every perfect song that was made just for Arcane. He's a slick bad bitch and loved his fucked up emotionally stunted adopted daughter for all of her achievements and failures. She is perfect to him regardless of flaws or trauma or outbursts. She represents zaun to him, and would never ask more of her. He really did love her. Sometimes our parents aren't good at what they do, and he wasn't good enough; regardless of not being father material he does try, he empathizes with her abandonment issues between siblings, and he tries to build her. She is a tool but not expendable, ref act 3 bridge scene when he gives no shit besides rescuing his daughter. We dont always love in a healthy way- but he undoubtedly did love her.
He would give up the power he had been seeking to prevent her from being harmed. He would do anything for her. And, interestingly enough, besides when jinx is jamming to Get Jinxed in her workshop and he sort of yells at her over the music because he's frantic, he's mostly very calm and collected when addressing a mishap. He is very gentle and vulnerable with her. He tries to be understanding. And he only truly hated Vi because she posed a threat that nobody else could- taking his daughter away. The only person he's seemingly loved besides himself. I commend the writers and animators collabs to make this art so detailed and riddled with Easter eggs and different perspectives that push you to empathize with "good" and "bad" characters. It's a masterpiece.
Something that really sells the performance is that sometimes you can genuinely see fear and frustration in his eyes before he covers it up and makes it look according to plan.
THIS RIGHT HERE is what TRUE editing is. Timing, parallels, the careful choice of words, choice of scenes, where the scenes are placed, how the words are placed, where to place them weather in the front of back of another can have a huge impact, along with scenes. I appreciate this kind a LOT more than others, and not to shame other kinds of editing those are super duper impressive and I love them as well but this. THIS right here is what I love, amazing work

Silco is so well written that although he was placed as the main antagonist (along with Jinx) of the story, I cried when he died. Arcane pulled off a feat of turning all of its characters grey. None are perfect, all have their reasons. The bad choices of some are the good choices of others. It's not Manichean. It's Human.

Man I just finished Arcane, Never Imagined a game adaptation would be this good! Im in love with this show, every thing about it is incredible the writing is top notch. One of the best forms of media I have ever witnessed. All with only 9 episodes is insane, prove that you can make a masterpiece with good writing doesn’t need to be 10 seasons like most shows nowadays

Starts as villain and ends up as... Gang Leader? Industrialist? Freedom fighter? Father? Well, all of it. And it makes him human. P.S: Most surprising thing at the end when start to empathize more to Silco and Jinx than all this "top-siders". Especially when all the talks started... only when Silco became a real threat. So, with all dirty and "unpretty" methods... he was right.
you're not the only one, he's a leader, a leader who did everything to get his people a better life, even though he walked an evil paths to achieve it, only to crash on another priority, his only family, jinx who he saw himself in her, how her sister betrayed her and left her, just like his brother betrayed him and left him, but he understood what his brother felt before, why did he leave the resistance and their dream of a united nation, he understood that his daughter is more important than anything in this cruel world, that's why i don't see him as a villain but a victim for the circumstances
