Absolutely, this Elephant Sanctuary is based in the northwest province of South Africa. It is in the Hartebeesport area in Zandfontein.

I'm sorry but I would rather visit sanctuaries where the elephants are not novelties to be prodded. I would prefer free roaming elephants living and eating like an elephant should.

I didn’t think that these elephants were treated badly in anyway. They are really taken care of very well. I just don’t get it.

@ I appreciate your thoughts, Angus. Elephants are wild animals. Not circus attractions or oddities. No matter how well they are treated, this is not the kind of life a wild animal should be living, being hand-fed and poked and prodded by dozens of humans. I would rather give my money to an org that lets the animals live their _natural_ lives and where visitors blend into the environment to appreciate them from a distance.
