This was so interesting! I wonder why you can’t see the foyer de la dance in any of the tours. That would be so cool to see! I have really loved your videos! Keep up the great work! 😊
@Fasciseus 0 seconds ago Thank you, I learned so much, but you neglected to talk about the ventilation/cooling system incorporated into the main theatre. I think it's an HVAC engineering wonder. I am referring to the large cylindrical shaft or "chimney" above the large chandelier 8:44 in the theatre or house in your diagram. Hint, the large gas-lite chandelier was for more than lighting and adornment.
I have twice toured the Opera House and both times could not view the ceiling of the theatre as there were rehearsals. However, I was not aware the ChagalI was the second painting. I understand that opera is no longer presented there but at the new facility. Last time I was in Paris the ballet was rehearsing. It is truely a beautiful building and we found a great view from the Galeries Lafayette dining room.
Same experience here. Our docent suggested the best time to book a tour is first thing in the morning. It seems the ballet rarely rehearses in the morning. After watching a season of "LA Opera," I see why😊
It’s crazy ! I’ve been 5 times and never not seen the theatre portion 🤔 I believe it might also be due to the summer season ? Typically during November, January-march there are fewer rehearsals
Thanks for this bit of history! You always keep it interesting and fun, and then we also get to see your lovely face....I cannot fathom why some folks have to make nasty comments!
Bonjour Ariel, j’aime bien vos vidéos sur les arrondissements . Où puis-je trouver vos vidéos sur le 13 et ainsi de suite ? Merci mille. Meilleurs vœux de Dublin.
Hi Arielle! Thanks so much for all your helpful videos ❤. We were trying to book the Mysteries tour for Feb, but all the websites we try, say it is unavailable. Do you know why? Or have you heard when it will be back?
Actually, the auditorium itself is not that large, and the only interesting thing to see is the Chagall ceiling. The red velvet has faded to pale purple, and the "gold" looks like 50-year-old paint, which it probably is.
Defenitely more about Opera Garnier , please ! Thank you !
I really enjoyed your tour of the Paris Opera House….more, please!
Fascinating! I love the tension between Chagall’s ceiling and the classic opulence around it. ❤
I love your vlogs about the history of Paris. More please
Loved it ❤, Thank you so much 😊
Arielle, I loved the Opera House tour. At my age I know I will never get to Paris in this life time. So I will live via your vlogs. Thank you so much
Ah so glad you enjoyed it !
Love the passages, I did some of them the last time I was in Paris. Love your videos ❤️

Well I couldn’t possibly talk about everything at the Opera ! To explore every subject would take hours haha but very interesting point !

Yes ! Most of the operas are now done in at the Odeon theatre I believe which is a bit of a shame haha

Part ll please!
There is the story of a young pianist who was burned in a fire, but survived. Could he be our Phantom? It sure is worth researching!

Wow! Great video! P.S. Are you British or French?
