This interview is taken from a Canadian TV show called "New Music Magazine" filmed in Toronto sometime in the late1980's. The interviewer is Daniel Richler, who also happens to be the step-son of famed Canadian writer Mordchai Richler.
I appreciate your comment. Many people seem to fade into obscurity when they get a tiny bit of age on them, and the public moves to the next new thing. What people need to realize is that your life goes on even after the spotlight is off you, and that you have to keep fighting in order to grow as a human being.
"I wanted to be a dancer, but I could never scrape the shit off my boots." (3:41) Now I wonder what Puck of a Midsummer's Dream would say to that? Grass is so good for getting shit off your boots, so good the guy in the 7-11 may not care if you go with the quarters (0:41). Yeah, urban life sucks.
Like him very much, but he is making the same mistake his is talking about. Lecturing. Giving moral advices. Being a punk, I love him, but it seems like he has become one of the he targets. Being a punk is for me: Live and let live. I'm old enough and I've been a punk ever since I was 15 (allmost 30 years now). I was there and I've seen it all. Great respect to Yello and Henry.
Played video games at arcades and if Michael Jackson or any half baked 80s musicians came up I would leave, the only time I've ever felt let down by Rollins
@ytrewqasfd oh, I hear lots of women say that they find Henry Rollins wildly attractive, yet he says, in real life, he never dates. I would say his confrontational, ultra-high standards persona is extremely intimidating to a lot of people. As for you, well, what type of girls are you trying to get. Fellow oddballs, or stereotypical popular 'hot chicks'? Perhaps you need to rethink your criteria.
Savanna Demmitt I play bass in a cover band that plays good music from Jimi Hendrix to Godsmack Van Halen and everything in between. He made it big.. I give him credit ,ain't a bad guy either.
Draven is correct. Henry Rollins has spoken about race multiple times. His father was an extreme racist and sexist, which guided him to *not* be that. He also spoke about getting hit by a young african american child and was told 'You killed my King.' (MLKjr) When the situation was explained to him, he realized he didn't want to be the giver of something like that (hate based on race). He's an anti-racist spokesperson.
He's just so calm about being kicked in the mouth LOL.
He is unnervingly polite but capably violent
"I wanted to be a dancer, but I could never scrape the shit off my boots". epic one-liner.
he sounds like a kid here but permanently looks 30 lol
Exactly😂

@matthewmccall78 My friend met his mom
His wannabe Morrison phase
Not to provoke said pointless argument, but I guess it's just since I live in Cali where you're not straight edge unless you're vegan.
Looks weird with that hair xD
@GayWhoReadThis And you must be such an expert on EMO. lol.
Rollins isn't completely straight edge because he's not a vegetarian.
He stunk then... music wasn't good either....good raw noise tho
Can I hear some of your music?????
Savanna Demmitt I play bass in a cover band that plays good music from Jimi Hendrix to Godsmack Van Halen and everything in between. He made it big.. I give him credit ,ain't a bad guy either.
"Plays good music''*brags about playing Godsmack*
@@mikemchaney925 "I play bass in cover band."
You can stop right there, man.
Easily one of the lowest aspirations a man could have.
Hmmm, insightful.
Henry looks weird with all that hair.
Is he racist?
Jacob Infranca no, why do you ask?
Probably the least racist you'll ever meet. He's speaking in third person.
