    Very attracted to this lens, thanks for showing it in action. I agree about street photographers forgetting to communicate anything - unless the less vivid images are curated to illustrate a time or event or other angle/story/idea; or the singular image delivers meaning, beauty or wit, then it's really just therapy or other process work instead of connecting to the viewer. Which is a legitimate process, but really needs to articulate into expression eventually to be truly effective.

    You know, you just make me realize why I like so much Finland Architecture and the black and white photography that usually are associated with publications: the shadows on building are almost exactly 45deg from any vertical or horizontal plane making them part of the shape and pleasing to look at.
    There is always something to learn I guess!

    Another great photo walk. Cool lens. Great idea to use the shadows with black and white. I did this back in school with a simple box camera. I still love those images, which I took in the middle of winter. Great shadows in the afternoon in Indiana where I lived at that time.

    Hello, I was waiting long time for a 10mm lens for MFT because in analog times I loved my Nikkor 20mm 2,8 lens. I mostly used the 60 mm Mikro Nikkor and the 20mm and was very lucky with that combination. This new Laowa Lens is extrem small, super sharp even at f2,0 and the electronic communication with my Lumix Camera works well. In bright light situations I use a extra slim greyfilter ND8 and a Nikon lenshood. I enjoy this small and light equipment with my Lumix GX7, the Lumix 30mm 2,8 macro and the Laowa 10mm.

    Thanks for this. I'm not usually a "wide-angle" guy but have been thinking about that super wide-angle Laowa for those few times in my life that I want shoot wide. There is truly a large choice of lenses in m4/3s.

    As a beginner I find it very hard to use wide angle lenses, the images I take with them tend to have too much content and look very cluttered. It really challenges your photo composition.

    • @mattisulanto

  • @hauke3644
    @hauke3644 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just came home from using the same lens… I don't like super-wide angle too much, but today it helped getting a fairly dramatic sky into the frame. And this tiny piece doesn't really hurt if not needed. Speaking of Laowa and electronic coupling: wasn't the 50 mm macro the first such mft lens from Laowa? For me it is clearly super-wide. I once learned that 65 mm is super-wide. On 9x12, of course. That's equivalent to around 11 mm on mft.

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean "noise" as in sound noise from the lens autofocus, or do you mean like grainy type of video noise?

    • @JanBaucke
      @JanBaucke 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Try to use more light for a brighter scene in general and if that's not a solution try - with the lens you have - if 25mm is okay as an angle of view. If so try the Panasonic 25mm 1.7 prime lens - it's an excellent lens for being really cheap.
      Otherwise the Panasonic 20mm 1.7 or the Panasonic 14mm 2.5 are maybe also alternatives but are bit more expensive - depending on the angle of view you are using the most.
      And maybe watch "
      NigelBarros" with his video "ow To Make A $300 Camera Look Pro!"
