I ran the bighorns on my RR X3 during my first trip to glamis. Just aired them down. It got the job done just fine, but I had to use a lot of throttle. Still bought paddles.
On paddles I'm at half throttle or less. Very well flotation. Really cruising and full control in transitions and heavy sand climbs no problems..... On big horns full throttle and a lot of sliding. No flotation. Mandatory 4wd.
I'm looking to go duning with my 83 k5 blazer. It has a stock 6 liter with a tune pushing around 350hp at the crank. (Im assuming) I've taken it out once before and did ok, but watching those side-by-sides with paddle tires was just night and day difference. I think I'd like to try putting paddles or something like those ss360's on my 4x4 truck but can't really seem to find anything. I'm currently running 35's so going to a 32inch in the back would mean i couldn't use 4 wheel drive, or could i put a paddle setup on all four corners?
Probably best going with a straight 12-paddle tire with a hybrid up front for grip and steering response. Our UTV team would be more than happy to give you some suggestions if you email us at utv@vividracing . com
hi, 2024 pro xp 4 sport. I like shredding thru glamis, pismo and dumont. I know that the 24 fixed some clutch issues and probably going to clutch it for 32". I am a aggressive rider 40 years of sand duning experience. I drag race with the buds and love flying thru the sand bowls. I have 3 kids so besides me, the car carrys 3 kids. do you recommend the 32" gMZ sand strippers 14 paddle on a 15 inch rim for this car, stock 181hp?
im driving a 2023 X3 DS RR 2 seater, I will be going to the dunes maybe once or twice a season. (first time this weekend) going to run my stock carnivores. my area is much tighter trails and logging roads so i don't know if I can justify buying paddles yet.
A straight 12 paddle will be a great option for you, or you can go with a hybrid. Feel free to reach out to utv@vividracing.com and our team would be happy to give you specific suggestions based on your riding style!
I've always wondered how the mud tires from the factory work at the beach but I've not found anybody who has tried it. There must be a reason. They look just like extra thick paddles to me. Maybe they're too narrow?
Mud tires will work, but the main issue is putting stress on the belt when you don't have that extra traction. You can go slow, but as soon as you want to pick up speed you'll be increasing the temperature of your belt
What would you recommend for a ranger for the sand? 4x4 paddles front and back? Wide tires? Something like a rescue ranger for the dunes to drag other sxs out
For the most surface area contacting the sand, a straight paddle will be your best option in the rear. For the front you'll want a hybrid paddle to retain some steering response while maintaining grip when pulling another machine.
I’m doing my homework on what sand tires to put on a General XP two seater. We go to the dunes a couple times a year, and the rock tires aren’t good enough to climb the big hills.
We have quite a few options that would work for you! Shoot us an email to utv@vividracing . com and we would be more than happy to get you the right setup for your machine :)
Vivid acing would they work well on a long travel suspension Full size Bronco with gears & lockers an internal balanced full roller 408 strokerb uilt for torque AFR heads headers all new exhaust a lot of torque drivetrain on kings ordered from Brett King kapp to hear how much I liked them smoothing out the 3 foot whoopsat75 mph in controlHe introduced me to Lance King his dad. lol on the way to the King trailer at the Mint 400 contingency I learnedfrom the pictures my wife had taken I saw a face I recognised taken not far away. I asked when she took it & why? she said the kids behind him playing on the truck were cuteish why. I asked if she knew who it was ? No she did not I told herit is BJ Baldwin. Where was I he may have came with me I am sure he has Kings too.
Come on man higher horsepower is around 250 or so you know foe us mere mortals. Why you showing the sxs blog 2JZ swapped drag car only? Jk thank you for the video I needed this info
That's a lot of weight compared to a UTV though. That extra weight is pulling you down creating more friction in the sand thus providing you with traction
Nice work. Looks like I'm going to be getting myself some SS360's for some winter action!
They are a great hybrid tire! Perfect for sand and snow! Glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏼

How low do you go on PSI for sand on your machine?
@@d2nasty696 I ran them at 11. Probably could have gone down to 8 since I have factory bead locks.
@@d2nasty696 8 psi on the big horns
4-5 psi on the Skats

Answered all my questions without asking ,
Super helpful and informative
Thanks

Really glad you enjoyed! Thank you for the kind words :)

Great work! I need to grab some new tires for my X3!
Super informative vid dude.
Your vid is actually the best I have been able to find on dune tires and wheels.
Thank you so much! 🙌🏼 Glad you enjoyed the video and was able to learn from it.
Sand tire unlimited is the only tire worth buying hands down for stock and high horse power side by side
Best set up for new pro r4 ultimate. Cruising dunes and running hills

What about a 4wd truck, would a smooth tire on the front be better, kind of like putting big mud tires on all 4 on a 2wd ?
I have a 19 x3 rs 172 hp with system 3 30 in tires and raceline beadlocks. what psi do you recomend?
Paddles are a necessity for the dunes absolutely
100%!

How about tires for my 1500 Sierra single cab 4x4 any ideas…?

Any CST sandblast or tusk sand lite in stock in 32’s?
Please reach out to utv@vividracing.com and our team would be glad to get you inventory on those tires! :)
Good video
Hi, I got the 2022 rzr trail 900 with only 70 hp, what would you recommend for dune riding and sand trails?
A smaller 10-paddle tire would be ideal or the SS360
What sandcraft tires you recommend for turbo s 180 to the wheels to 190
Reach out to utv@vividracing . com and our UTV specialist will get you the best recommendation for your particular setup.
Excellent Video
Thank you! :)
Skat~Trak Paddles 🙌
Will definitely have to check those out!
Any recommendations for a teryx 4?
A hybrid tire should be enough! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to utv@vividracing. com
Brooooo, the chicks just left ….hahaha jk great info 😂
If you want to save on gas money you should. My machine has the paddles on it year around
People would be surprised how much gas you truly save just by running paddles!

Not when you got 4x4.
Paddles will always be better than running stock tires or dirt tires! I explain why in the video :)
