I'm vibing with this city tbh looks really cool likes very early Cyberpunk mixed with a more typical setting. Hopefully that's what we see more of in the DCU focus on making the cities look unique from a timeless Gothic Gotham City to an Art Deco City of Tomorrow Metropolis. In the DCEU it always bugged me that Gotham and Metropolis barley looked any different and lacked any real noticeable landmarks with The Flash funny enough having the best DCEU Gotham City.

"Young hero causes comical mayhem while learning his new abilities" should be it's own movie trailer genre.
Also: movie trailers have become so large, that they can have their own genre(s).
DC has been promoting comics at the end of their trailers for about a year now. It's very smart and I can't believe it hasn't happened sooner.
This looks so fun. I especially love the color palette and all the neons. I'll be there opening weekend for sure
It looks very generic BUT really fun, which is frankly what matters the most. A unique superhero film that isn’t enjoyable is how you get Eternals (which I LOVE, but it’s obviously not for everyone).

Haven't seen this character until I saw the trailer, but I'm interested and I suspect it's because it reminds me of things that I've been influenced by when I was a child. Which was some shows and movies I don't remember the names of. One of the shows was called "Masked Rider" I think, and the main character also had a bug themed suit or something.

For this to be the unofficial start of James Gunn's DCU, this NEEDS to deliver greatly, and people have to support this.
By the way, the voice of the Scarab is played by singer Becky G (aka Trini from the 2017 Power Rangers movie).
I love Becky G but honestly I prefer the male voice like the one from Young Justice, it delivered a more menacing feel every time Jaime corrected it’s morality

The bad guy's suit reminds me of the robot Maximilian from The Black Hole movie.
This looks so much fun. Thank you, DC, for not being dark and brooding with this one. Batman can be dark & brooding; others need to be allowed to be bubblegum superheroes or boy scouts if that is what they are in the comics. The characters have endured in the comics for a reason, they don't need to be dark just because it is a movie. Heck, it looks like even Marvel is letting Wolverine wear the yellow and blue instead of putting everyone in the same black leather costume.
My hubby and I are generally not fans of the DCU films, BUT we will both be seated for this one! It looks great! Hoping it doesn’t turn out to be a let-down 😅

James Gunn threaded that Blue Beetle will continue as part of his DC Universe, so maybe that'll give this movie a bigger chance. I really don't want a movie starring Xolo to fail!

Given Jaime’s panicking, this movie’s gonna be funny.
My only complaint about this film from the trailers, which is probably just because my main exposure to the character has been from Young Justice, is that I am a little disappointed that the scarab does not use Jaime's voice and seems mostly supportive of Jaime's actions and purely responsive to his requests (besides the initial "test-flight" sequence).
In YJ the scarab sounded like a sociopathic edgelord version of Jaime that was constantly trying to escalate every conflict to ultra-violent levels, and I guess that since I am personally not a fan of edgy and gory superhero stories, I liked the idea of a hero who was constantly resisting against the source of their power trying to push them to be that unnecessarily brutal.
The version in the trailers feels more like Karen the suit A.I. from Spider-Man Homecoming (Hey remember that A.I. that they dropped from the later movies just because of fan backlash to the Iron-Man provided suit despite the fact that they could have used it as a perfectly reasonable excuse to have Spider-Man talking to "himself" like he does in the comics?) which could still be an interesting dynamic, and might be more comic accurate for all I know, but it really depends on how much of an individual they write it to be and what sort of personality they give it.
Young Justice didn’t do it right. The scarab has a voice in the comics
I hate to tell Jay, but the only reason you can remember Greatest American Hero is if you're OOOOOOOOOLLLLDDDD! 😂 (cause I remember how young I was watching and I'm Adam's cohort! 😂😂😅)

Filmed for IMAX? The cinematography looks like a Saturday morning Nickelodeon TV show cropped to cinemascope. I can't believe this is a theatrical movie, let alone for IMAX. Looks fun ... for when it comes out on streaming.

I don't know anything about this character, but his powers sound derivative of Green Lantern. Is the Scarab alien tech from the Lantern Corp? Are they going to do a tie in? Genuinely have no knowledge of Blue Beetle, so my theories are completely unfounded and based on ignorance. 😅
@mathsalot8099 Blue Beetle is the first character in new DCU and we already going to have a Green Lantern TV Series in Chapter one of DCU under DC Studios

Very good trailer just don't know must about the character so fresh going in. The only thing I will say is that it seems like there was a lot in this trailer like the entire movie.

The trailer looks good, the movie looks like a lot of fun, but I think the abuela with the gatling gun is overkill. It felt like forced humor. Otherwise, movie looks great.

I am seriously NOT interested in this one. It just seems like a combo of Spider-Man and Shazam, so there is nothing new here. Also, this trailer is a mess.
