I love your channel. I only discovered you a couple of months ago so I am going back and watching last year's vids. You are so sweet and I love your enthusiasm. Keep up the amazing work I can see it means a lot to you x 😊
I’m so glad your plot is still thriving! You’re doing so well! I think in your poly tunnel, the mystery plant looks like a kohlrabi. Thanks for sharing your journey! 😊
You may have been where I live in South Somerset! Just got my first allotment a month ago, have NO IDEA what I am doing and love your videos, gives me some needed confidence and reassurance that I can just try things and see how it goes...
Hey emma, Happy you had a lovely camping holiday and detoxed from social media,,, And can I just say YOU ARE a AMazing Gardener,,,I've learnt so so much from you and you're vlogs,I'm very grateful,,, You're plot looks divine ,keep doing you cos it's just Fabulous, blessingZ and positive energies, kat x
Hey Emma, good to see you back. Sure your mystery guest in the tunnel is Kohlrabi and as for your kale you can start to harvest around a third of the leaves every week now and it will promote new growth. If you find it a little strong for your taste blanching in boiling water fo 60 seconds mellows it quite a bit, the stalks are great too and have a recipe on my blog for Chinese style Hoi sin stems.
Glad your upside down water bottles worked. I’ve joined you with the pumpkin arch, never grown them before, doing Jack Be Little and Baby Boo as you’ve recommended them. Fingers crossed!
We were away the same week. Absolutely terrified that it'd all be dead when we came back, but almost everything survived, such a thrill! Your pumpkins are amazing - mine are all weedy for some reason. No idea why. And Lyme Regis is one of our favourite places! Happy growing.
Let some side shoots grow on your toms then break them off and plant themyoull get a free tom plant, congratulations on the T-shirts etc they look great 🥰
Hey Emma so glad everything survived whilst you were away- defo white/green kohlrabi in your poly tunnel I had a mix pack of seeds white and purple - looking good 👍🏼 very excited about the pumpkins- iv just planted out my courgettes for this year a mix of yellow & green and ball courgettes can’t to get are first of the year, already had a few cucumbers and tomatoes - you make me laugh 😂 as I get so excited about the same things as you do whilst gardening - have a great week happy planting 🥒🥦🌻Kelly
Wow! What a huge difference in all of the plants! Wow, your pumpkins, im so envious. I have planted the entire package - centers eaten on all that germinate - i just planted the last 2 seeds ... 🤞....your plot looks fantastic!!!!
Hi Emma your garden is looking good you can water toms more water have just but other polytunnel up me and the son what we have done in seven weeks is amazing
So glad you had a nice peaceful holiday! I'm growing pumpkins for the first time. Very nervous! Not out yet, need to get a bit bigger. Will be growing along with you xx
oh my! I love a pumpkin im growing a few pumpkins, zombie and big boy, and a load of winter squash! Yum! we are still eating the ones that i grow last year.
Pumpkins and squash often get floppy in the sun when first planted, but they will be fine :) Once their roots go a bit deeper they will start looking alive more consistently ;)
Hi Emma I got up this morning and saw the best slug and snail cure I have a family of hedgehogs,I got so excited ,just love them,I put cat food out for them witch has worked to entice them in .❤
Stop handling it woman ! 😂 Twisting it that way and this . Oh Emma you do make me laugh 😄its way too hot in the polytunnel for Kale and Brassicas but yes that's a green kohl Rabi in the polytunnel .Harvest it soon ,they make great coleslaw !
I'm pretty sure the green one in your Polly tunnel is a kol rabi . I'm on year 5 of my allotment and being away from the plot for afew days and coming back it's that feeling of what's it going to be like . I think you are one of the more natural vlogers I've watched most would have redone n edited but it's great to see that things go wrong leafs get broke it's all good wack it in n see what it does love the natural reaction to things still living it's what most are thinking but don't say
Hi Emma, try growing some chick peas it’s not too late yet, soak dried chick peas from Tesco for 48 hours in little water and the plant them in moist soil in green house. They will sprout in 48 hours plant them out once 2inches tall , chick peas in September, excellent to taste as green
Hi Emma..so happy to see u vibe with joy on the nature being on ur side this year ❤ . BTW where did I buy the black meral arches from ? Any good for South London weather u think ?
Newly discovered your channel Emma, and love your videos! Have some confidence in yourself though, you’re doing amazingly 😊😊 It’s quite common for plants to get ‘transplant shock’ and go a bit floppy after you plant them out, especially larger seedlings. Give them a really good water in, I like to water in the hole first and again after the plant goes in, and hopefully they’ll be looking brighter soon! My courgettes I put in yesterday also look a bit floppy today 😅
I love how you say that this is a channel for things that die on the allotment 😂 I’ve been inspired by you and got 2 arches from Lidl (Wilko don’t seem to have them anymore). I’m going to grow Crown Prince squash up them but I’m worried as they are going to be massive squashes!
M, why don't you remove the bottoms of your poly tunnel watering bottles..that way you can leave them in place and fill them with water? That's what I do....cheers
I think the cosmos starts of a lighter shade and develops a darker shade as the flower blooms more. That's what mine does. But if yours stays different colours, let me know the brand of seeds you used. I just love your personality 😊 U should get a tub of fish blood and bone it should last u about 2 years or more. When u dig a hole put some of it into the hole then put your plant in. Its a great feed and also feeds the soil. Then u feed plants with it once a month a little goes a long way.
We were away the same week and in Somerset!! My garden survived too 👏🏼👏🏼 Fantastic looking pumpkins - I haven’t ventured that way yet but have courgettes growing (too many I fear) x
Congrats on your success! I hate to inform you that you need more sweet corn than that. You should have at least 30 stalks in a bed that size. Hoping you get a few ears.
I currently have 4 healthy pumpkin plants to grow for my grandchildren, wondering how big a space i will need as never grown them before, should i be worriedx
Isn’t it strange that everything is growing since you’ve not been there 👀 lol 😂. Maybe you’re killing them with kindness lol 😂. I’m only laughing coz that me too, I feel your pain! ❤

Welcome back !!!! always nice to get away for a bit
Love it. You’re brill. Gives me lots of encouragement being a newish allotment owner who always feels that I haven’t a clue what I’m doing. 😅

Amazing! I can't wait for pumpkin season again! x
Yes that plant is a kohlrabi. They can be both white and purple.
Amazing! Can't wait to harvest it now! x
You could buy some strong polytunnel tape and some fine net and just replace the damaged window?
I think I will do that yes! x
Pumpkins and squash often get floppy in the sun when first planted, but they will be fine :) Once their roots go a bit deeper they will start looking alive more consistently ;)
Fingers and toes crossed! x
I did mine yesterday! Nerve wracking! mine are surrounded by cleavers and bramble and egg shells 🎉
Haha! I’m going back to protect from slugs tomorrow. Hoping they stay away till then 🤞
Hi Emma I got up this morning and saw the best slug and snail cure I have a family of hedgehogs,I got so excited ,just love them,I put cat food out for them witch has worked to entice them in .❤

Hi my potatoes are very tall had to tie them up how's your potatoes doing glad you're allotment is doing well
The damage may be the wind pushing the cover against the spikes on the stick?
Could be! x
Great! Alive is good. Thank you, bye

Katy, make hammocks for them when they are small and tie them to the frame, that way the frame takes the weight. Use any thin material or mesh
@@w.dossett3332 thank you! I’ll give that a go!

I do hope you can have the plot next to you
Me too! x
I have 2 off the same poly tunnels as you Emma and after 3 years pretty much all my windows have rotted away!
Looking good. Would some Strulch round the pumpkins help 🤔x

That’s what I was thinking! 😂
It's a green kohl rabi.
Ah I thought it might be a kohl rabi, how exciting!
Where do we buy the merchandise, I can't find the link x
Link is in the description box below the video! ☺️
The Cosmos is 3 different plants
Dang, cornflowers grow that big? Looks like I've made a mistake then. I've crowded them into a container on the front patio.
Apparently they do! Haha! x
I currently have 4 healthy pumpkin plants to grow for my grandchildren, wondering how big a space i will need as never grown them before, should i be worriedx
They do grow quite big! x
Are the pumpkins supposed to be inside or outside the arch?
Outside x
Emma I'd advise you just remove the dead arms, they'll dry up and that will attract slugs, slugs go to weak plants / damaged plants.
I have now, thank you so much for this! x
I can’t bring myself to buy a T-shirt as I just know loads of people will think it’s an innuendo….! 😬
Haha I really want one but keep thinking of the comments I'll get wearing it 😂
I'm in the exact same boat! 😅
Just wear it in your garden-the plants won’t judge you! 😂🧑🌾😎 😂
