Are you not on TV yet? Your advice is practically invaluable and your voice so soothing! You would be watched by millions! I ordered the calendar and it's very handy! Thank you so much!
This is exactly the type of guide I've been searching for a long time on youtube! What seeds to sow each month! I love this! Thank you so much for making this!❤️
I often begin my morning with a coffee and a Charles Dowding video, as I am now. You have a soothing voice and your content gets my brain moving in the right direction. My Texas garden is thriving because of all I’m learning! Thank you!
I used to meditate with a coffee on a morning, now I do the same as you! 😄 It's basically the same and you learn some cool stuff too. I live in an apartment so I can't grow anything but either way Thanks Charles 🤙
I've already somewhat established my own sowing strategies but I'll leave a comment for the algorithm. I also want to leave a big *THANK YOU* for being one of my main inspirations to gardening for all these years. No dig has been such a huge relief for somebody dealing with physical impairments. Greetings from Germany 💚
Oh my, nothing better than waking up with a notification from Mr Dowding himself. Charles, thank you for all the questions you answered to me over the year. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. Edit after watching : What an amazing guide you just did here, thank you so much.
It feels so strange watching, and knowing, the correct times for seed sowing in the UK latitude when compared to the correct times here in Thailand. I am currently harvesting carrots, Courgettes, tomatoes, kale, beetroot and sugar peas, which were sown in November and December 😅😅😅My "Thailand no dig" beds are going from strength to strength. Thanks for posting Charles.
@@CharlesDowding1nodig Are you sure you need to cram the cell Charles? Are you sure more soil is better? I'm wondering if volume space for the Roots is most important. If you keep cells light and fluffy the roots can move and grow unrestricted......I've just tried this and it seems to work 👍
Charles, this video alone is enough for a novice to learn how to feed themselves year round, what an amazing resource this video, and your complete video library. You never cease to amaze me. Every time I think I have found the ultimate gardening video on your channel, you pop out another. Well done, and thank you. I love your No Dig book and Calendar and CD trays, so appreciative of what you offer.
Funny, a couple of years back I watched all your videos and compiled every sowing and planting dates you mentioned and created myself a plan based on your dates adapting them to our climate by using the reasoning more than the dates themselves. I think that is the key to learn from your experience. And that is the difference between your videos and everyone else’s. You focus on the why, most people just dictate their dates…
Mr Charles Dowding you are a miracle! I don't know if I ever came across anything that great quality lectures about gardening as you doing! You are massive inspiration for so many people! Thanks for all your hard job! The only problem I need more land as I got only tiny back garden 😂
As a seasoned gardener, I still need monthly reminders of sowing dates.I had one of your printed calenders previously, but I prefer this as it's succinct and time stamped.Thankyou for this Charles.
Wow! Thanks Charles! Explained so many of my failures, mostly head lettuces. They have confounded me for years! Hopefully this year *fingers crossed*! By the way, I say it every year and I tell everyone who toils in the garden, NO DIG, is the absolute way to go! New beds going in this year again! Thanks for everything!
WOW that's some amazing looking Chinese Napa Cabbage!!! Mine always end up looking like cheesecloth by the time they're that age! Charles, this is an AMAZING video. I have your calendar this year and I'm very impressed by it -- it's so useful, beautiful, and professionally-done! Next year I might buy 3 of them so I can have one to use as usual and 2 to pull apart and tack up each month's beautiful picture and calendar on the wall as an arrangement of 24 squares.
Just the info I needed! Given that I am in Denmark and thus in zone 7, without a greenhouse, I will have to delay most of my sewings with minimum 2-3 weeks, but this information is still immensly usefull! Thanks!!
Going to get my pen and paper out and take lots of notes! Really informative video, ordered a 40ft polycarbonate tunnel yesterday and getting it installed end of march, can't wait 😁
@gailthornbury291 only saw your comment. Thank you. Only get a part of it planted last year but big plans this year. It's an investment and an amazing gift from my Dad who is no longer with us 😢
This video is a great addition to your calendar Charles, it is a must watch especially for not so seasoned growers, but also for those, who want to improve. Watching it and noticing how the time goes by I wondered if you ever go on any holiday and if yes when do you go? You are such a busy person- tending to your garden, producing those immensely valuable videos, writing books, articles, making workshops, giving interviews and I guess many more obligations. Huge thanks for sharing your knowledge with such a passion 💐
Many thanks Aleksandra and you're right that I don't often go on holiday. It would be nice but as you observe, I am passionate about my work, which is not really work.
Thank you for organizing my brain! I always get so overwhelmed just thinking about all the different sowing dates. Now I will just watch this video over and over again. Cheers!
This was a great video ❤ I understand you’re referring mostly to your planting zone but I must say I laughed out loud when you said garlic could be planted as late as February as we got 4 inches of snow today and both the ground and my compost bins are frozen solid 🥶 Every year I’m amazed when my little garlic and shallot shoots make it through our pretty brutal winters (northeastern USA) My grow room is sure active right now though… thank heavens for heat mats! Thank you for all the time and energy you put into your videos Charles they are such a delight and so incredibly helpful, you’ve truly changed gardening for me in the best of ways!! ❤
Definitely noting down these dates as a rough guide and sticking it to the fridge! I always lose track of sowings, especially successive sowings so this video is a godsend, thanks Charles!
Hello Charles! Thank you for your explanations, they answered questions I had initially asked myself upon using your calendar for the first time 3 years ago. Not knowing any better, I have stuck to your sowing schedule to the letter but with smaller quantities to achieved succession planting. I feel rather silly now... Still, it worked and has helped me tremendously. My husband also loves the calendar as it solves his Christmas shopping: I get it every year!!! Cheers
This was really good, it's saved in my Charles folder, never hurts to have it as a yearly reminder. Thanks for taking the time to go month by month, you all over there have a nice weekend, mines looking wet.
Wow, that video is so rich in information! High quality as always! Also just ordered ten CD60s, I got 8 of them already in use. Very durable and perfect size.

Thank you for this video, Charles Dowding! Excited for 4th year no dig. Zone 6 here but have the same last frost date as you…I still go by your dates for the most part. 🌱
Hello Charles, from Plano Texas. After many years of giving up on gardening, your videos of no dig method had inspired me to start again and with full confidence. So I bought your dibber and sewing trays, I created 6 no dig beds filled with fine compost I bought from the city of Plano. I have Garlic, beet root, 2 types of Kale, 2 types of Basil, potatoes, & Minnesota Midget Cantaloupe/melon. THANK YOU and YOUR TEAM VERY MUCH INDEED!👍👍👍
I've watched and enjoyed all your videos since I got into veg growing a few year ago, but this one was particularly useful. Like most enthusiastic veg growers, I have no trouble getting started with the early crops and have various types of row covers to even push the boundaries a bit. However, where I tend to struggle is with the later sowing at times, when there's so much already going in the garden. I know already that I'll be coming back to this video. I have 2 "gardens" in Switzerland one on a 3rd floor terrace with around 20 M2 of raised beds/pots, last frost date 11-20 April and a bigger open soil garden at 1000 meters, with a last frost date 21-31 May.
This is amazing! SO MUCH useful information, I kept pausing to make notes. Thank you so much Charles. I have bought your calendar but this clarifies a lot.

Great video Charles. I sowed escarole, and Boston lettuce first of March , tomatoes, peppers, eggplant April 14th, cucumbers and basil may 30th. Thanks again for a fantastic video.
I rushed to write notes, so was super excited when you mention that we can get an actual calendar! I’ve just ordered the signed no dig book, cookbook and calendar! 🥰🌱🥰
Years ago when I started growing I tried your dates and few of them worked for me. I finally realised after watching a lot of your videos that you grow in full sun, I like so many others grow in partial sun or light shade and that makes a big difference. I’m always surprised that you don’t mention this. Now I’ve realised that there’s so much opportunity to go beyond your suggested dates for a much richer diet and much greater yields. That said as a start point your dates are very valuable

hello Charles, i just ordered your seed sowing calender and it was exactly what i needed as i have 13 birdies raised beds to fill with veg and packets of seeds in containers that i was trying to get into some sort of sowing order but it will be so much easier for me now :-) thanks again .jan
Super!!
Due to climate change I plant broad beans in October and I always get an excellent harvest. My grandfather planted broad beans in February in order to have a good harvest. I live on the hills of Olltrepo pavese (60 km south of Milan). I can say that my climate zone has changed from 8 to 9 in the last ten years. Thank you Charles, for yours video: there is always something to learn!
Amazing. And thanks
