Really love this channel its so interesting to hear these cases and learn about these sadly often forgotten characters . As someone who is interested in family history I had a tip many years ago , when looking at old gravestones always have a torch at hand and shine the torch across the writing on the stone so that the light shines from the side . I find it really highlights the inscription even in daylight . Hope it helps . Love to Vicky
Glad you like them! And we do have torches in our backpack but to be honest, they have been left there from when we visited the Ancient Ram Inn to do a paranormal investigation but knowing they can help with headstones, it's something we will try out in our next video!

We are blown away already how far the channel has grown this last month, without the use of FB too. As you know, it takes alot of research, leg work, filming, editing along with costs of petrol, subscriptions and your time to make the videos and we are lucky we enjoy doing them and you guys seem to enjoy them too 😀
The biggest hits get the views but not the likes for one reason. It goes into your playlist as liked videos and eventually the storage slows things up. The only reason ppl wldnt hit like to your videos. Because they're great. A nice find. Thanks for your hard work. So never judge your videos by the likes ok😊 It'll build n build, by view n subscribers. Took my friend to hit 35,000 subscribers and still very lil likes lol

A very tragic story, I feel very much for Charlotte it wasn't her fault that this man had become infatuated with her. He must have been mentally unstable to commit such a crime. It is not the action of a man who is normal and well balanced. I always feel sorry for the wife too who is also the innocent victim in this whole sad episode. A very fascinating story and well narrated, thank you for these true tales that are sad but also fascinating.

Maybe she was going to meet the younger man, perhaps to help her put William off. If William saw and met her before she found the young man and was persuaded to walk with him. If William got angry at her rejection he probably decided ‘if I can’t have you then nobody will have you’. Very sad RIP Charlotte.

Yep, we have read so many books on historical crimes, and the number of times people have said the same, they would often leave their doors unlocked, sometimes open, and neighbours would come and go. They would also say neighbours would watch out for each other too.
I watched video for the second time, Chris and Vicky, because I found it really interesting. To me Charlotte was a victim of a jealous and possessive man, with no regard for anyone but himself.

She was trying to move on with someone else. He couldn't handle her rejecting him. Having a gun, his intentions were to kill her and then commit suicide. Poor Charlotte R.I.P. thanks for sharing 👍👍
Crimes of passion. Another terrible ending, Charlotte deserved a life and not with William. Sounds like he just wouldn't accept her decision. The lead up to the murder should have rung alarm bells and not be left alone with him. Tragic story. Well presented by both of you.

Being a former Clitheronian now retired in the Peak District. I've never heard about this. I would like to think my ancestors were not part of that jeering mob.
It was just an original idea we had to imply a day in horror. The d and h either side of the cross gave it a church kind of look, so basically, it was good and evil but also something bad that occurs in one day (day of horror). That's it in a nutshell, but we don't use it now.
