Really interesting story, I did find the letter to the friend interesting and how William tried to advise people about what drink can lead to. What we have to remember is that the only place available to people if they had no where to go and no job was the dreaded and shameful workhouse. It does sound that George wasn't a man to be messed about and if he thought it necessary would indeed be harsh to his employees.
Just found your channel. I've been bingeing a bit to catch up with your past output. Very interesting subjects and nicely presented. When you seek out the details of local history it changes your whole appreciation of where you live. I had a Grandparent who came from your part of England but I've spent my life in Essex by the Thames estuary, which is no stranger to tales of the dark and sinister. From the days of Matthew Hopkins to the horrors of WW2, there's enough around here for a lifetime's research. I just wish I had the time. Good vids though, keep 'em coming.
I grew up In Prestwich and Prestwich has large Jewish community along with Salford...
Good evening days of horror Chris and vicki
Hiya 😊
There are some really nice old buildings in Bury. If walls could talk they would have some Good story's.. Good and bad.
It's amazing how one side of the town seems more 'untouched' than other parts. I love older buildings and the surrounding back streets and alleyways.
Beautiful town (atleast on the outside😊).
Really glad I have found this channel your both great, the extra detail of the steam train and the cobbles was just a great bonus.
Thanks for the kind words, Chris. Truth be told, standing on that section of road as the train went underneath us, it absolutely stank with the smoke 😅 but I'm glad we got that shot on video.
Another great watch thank you Chris and vicky. Loved that park looks like a nice walk😊
Many thanks Liz 😊
😊
It's not self defence. There were too many blows. One hit, or two hits to stop the attack, but 10 or 15 hits, that's not self defence.
See where your coming from 🤔
Good morning from New Zealand. Love these stories. Keep up the good work.
Many thanks, Angela 😊 New Zealand! We are chuffed to see our little channel being watched so many MANY miles away 😀
Love you and Vicky s channel and the sad stories you relay.
I'm from Sunderland and we have a tragic heartbreaking story of our own from the late 1800,s where a 184 children perished in theatre show.Victoria Hall disaster was well documented at the time and easy to look up .
Many thanks for your kind words and support. We are up further north back end of this year, so it's possibly worth looking into that story. It's one we've never heard before, so thanks for that info. We always appreciate people giving us ideas for stories.
Nicely delivered Chris. Very rude of the cemetery to not reply whether they agree or not.
They replied earlier last week, after the video was uploaded. www.youtube.com/@DaysofHorror/community
😀
would a "boss" be in such a close proximity of a workforce worker ,i almost doubt that somehow time is money so words might be said if manager unhappy with staff performance even back then?
Sounds like a frenzied attack, that’s usually the result of extreme anger and blind rage.
💯
Only recently stumbled across your channel and on a bit of a binge at the moment.. enjoying watching stories of lesser known crimes. Keep up the great work and thank you
Everyone is welcome my friend and thank-you for the support. We have absolutely loads of stories to cover, not just locally either, but the further away they are, the more money and time is needed to cover them.
Welcome on board, and glad to have met you in our live the other day. Glad you found us and enjoying the channel. Thank you 😊

Hi Dorothy, and welcome on board. We cringe looking back at the older videos, but we had to start somewhere 😆 I just hope we have got a lot better over the last couple of years.
Hi Dorothy, glad you are enjoying our contact and glad to have you on board and your support 😊
Thanks for very interesting video once again Chris and Vicky. Obviously your videos contain a lot of research and very informative information as this one. Thanks for sharing and bringing these stories back to life.
Thank you.
😊
Hi Chris and Vicky I have recently subscribed to days of horror.I must congratulate you both on the presentation and. The dignity in which you present these harrowing stories. I am very much interested in local history of my area of Oxfordshire. The combination of facts and visiting the places mentioned in your stories. To me this is the best Chanel I have seen on TH-cam eve. Thank you for opening our eyes to the more dark side of our surroundings. Please don't ever stop or change the format of your Chanel. Best regards. Dave from Oxford.
Hi David, many thanks for the kind comments and for your support. We are currently away at the moment on our hols, but we will try to reply to as many comments as we can when we can 😀
Another great story guys thanks for covering it.
Cheers Mike 😊
poor woman waiting for her wardrobe unless "he" made that sale up

Thank you so much!!
Hi Chris and Vicky, missed the live. Thanks I really enjoyed the story.
Thank you so much Cheryl.
I just wonder if he was caught with his hand in the till. Drink problems don't help and it sounds he was under pressure and stress. What happened that day when he killed him and then tried, very badly, to cover his tracks. Well explained and presented.
Good question! Thanks for watching from Chris & Vickie 😁
Sorry had a power cut in work just as you were about to start just come back on. Whole area was out. Will watch a bit later sorry i missed it guys 😊
There is no need to apologise. Work always comes first 😅
