What an epic film! Content is so widely available these days that it's too easy forget the amount of work that goes into creating it - thanks for making this and making it free for all to watch!
Billy, every film you make captures what we love about trail running so perfectly. It makes me so pumped and so proud to be a runner, training hard, racing hard and going after what we love. Amazing film!
I really forgot how incredible epic this movie is, Billy. 2015 was the first time I was in Chamonix. 2015 was the time I decided to take up on ultra-running and compete in the UTMB. I qualified, but in 2018 and 2019 I had to drop out both times due to heavy hallucinations. I will be back, and your movie acts as my reminder to why, why I should and why I would want to be back. Cheers.
1 MILLION VIEWS BILLY! I watched this video almost everyday in the 2 months leading up to my first ultra. Thanks for igniting the fire and sharing your passion with everyone. Huge congrats :)
In the past 3 years, I've been watching this film many times, every time I got different feelings. At the beginning, UTMB and those runners were like dreams to me, so far away. Thanks to Billy and your film, I got the chance to work for COROS and know Tim & David. Last November, I worked as a companion for Tim during his trip to China and UTMS 50K. You will never know how life will turn around. Thank you Billy for making such good films! Hopefully that I can see you in China someday.
Just found this!! My husband Ed Van Vliet (75 years of age - I turned 70 on the trail) and our friends Ron and Barb Douglas (69 and 59) hiked the 100 mile UTMB Chamonix to Chamonix at this same time. Incredible experience for us! But being able to be there as the runners competed running on the same trails we were hiking brought forth such respect for those incredible athletes!! Thank you for this film!
Watching this again as the pandemic lockdowns are slowly coming to an end. I want to remind myself that the mountains will always be there and I just need to be more patient to be free again.
I love the concept of “things started to click” at mile 49. Or another doc I watched, she felt her legs wake up after six hours. The human body is an incredible machine.
Again, Billy, you are the Man! Thanks so much for bringing this into my home in Cairns, Australia, where I didn't know this running existed until I came across your films. Thanks so much. It's beautiful to see the strength available to us, to see what could be possible in overcoming our own obstacles or reaching for the seemingly impossible.
Billy Yang you clever man. Your films capture the essence of not only the event but the sport and the athletes in general. I hope wherever you are you living a dream and continuing to make more of these videos loved by so many
Incredible film Billy. What you and the rest of the ultra film makers are doing for our sport is amazing. Keep doing what you do and we will keep watching.
It's 5 am and i just geared up for a 20 mile loop in the Marin Headlands! NOW i'm ready!! Awesome job as always! Great music, shots and runners! Can't wait for the next one! Time to go kill some trails!
Brilliant! Loved this film and the style. I couldn't help but cheer and clap when Zach finished first in the CCC. Thank you so much for this. :) It really makes me want to run in the mountains. For someone from the prairies, that's quite the dream but I imagine I'll do it someday. Such beauty.
I really liked your video. I don't run 100 miles but at 66 years old I do mountain trekking (Mt. Kilimanjaro, Inca Trail, Grand Canyon). I like to watch your videos while I'm training on the treadmill in my basement. Yes, treadmill. I live at sea level with no hills so that's the best I can do. I put the incline all the way up and carry a 20 pound backpack. Your videos keep me going.
I love B..Y films! There’s such great continuity whilst building up the story and an absolute guarantee that you’ll finish the film inspired and ready to tackle whatever your passion is. Thanks Billy!
The best thing about your videos is you show the ability of the athletes combined with the suffering. One of the weaknesses of "Unbreakable" was that it barely showed this: Anton looked exactly the same from beginning to end, Geoff said his last descent hurt but we didn't see it, Kilian cramped up but we got one shot of it, and Hal was injured but barely featured in the second half.
Great storytelling and awesome cinematographing Billy. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. I happened to be there in person racing UTMB and you successfully captured the feelings of the race environment and mountainous terrain. I had the privilege of flying back to the USA with the Nike team and they were so humble about their accomplishments and sincerely complementary towards my meager personal success. My view instantly changed for the better towards team Nike and now I hope your video does the same for many more.
Oh. My. God. I have been waiting for this ever since your preview those many months ago. Billy, what an amazing job capturing these epic moments. Each of your films is better than the last. This is truly a standout job bro. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this beautiful work with us. Hats off.
Your films bring tears to my eyes Billy, amazing job. The way you manage to capture ups, downs, passion and motivation is so beautiful. You motivate me a lot to not only up my running game, but also photography and videography. You're an inspiration man, keep it up!
DUDE!!! that is possibly one of the best films i think I've seen of yours!!! absolutely brilliant, loved it, every single second....who the hell are those three numpties that have given thumbs down!??!??!?? ....this was awesome, well done.
So well shot Billy. Those mountain shots and the emotions captured were beautiful. Such a storybook ending for Zach, Tim and David. I failed the CCC lottery this year but while watching this it film it got me all emotional to experience those magical trails in person. Will continue training hard and show them what runners from Hong Kong are made of! Thanks again for the wonderful film.
Wow, Billy, just wow. I've been following your work only for a short time since Western Time. This is your best work, it's incredible, emotional and truly captures the emotion of this unique sport((lifestyle)life)we crave. Well done!
Well done. Such an inspiring film. Thank you Billy for all the great work that you do! I recently watched the video of you and your buddies tackling 3 local peaks in 1 day. Your work as a film maker and runner definitely inspires me to keep pushing to reach my goals. THANK YOU!!
One of the best videos I have ever watched. Thank you. I am a collegiate runner and I hope to be an ultra runner one day. All your videos give me inspiration.
This is awesome and I am so inspired . I am so grateful that you take so much time to make such great films that leave is wanting more time on trails connecting with nature and to run better than we did yesterday. Thank you
Me too, waiting patiently for this and boy what a treat. Just a fantastic film. Made me want to go out and run right now.. Thanks for such fine work bringing these amazing performances to us!
Congratulations Billy, this was well worth the wait. Inspirational stuff, great storytelling and beautiful photography. Can't wait to see what else you've got in the pipeline this year.
What a beautiful and very INSPIRATIONAL short film! Every time I watch it, I get the exact same feeling of inspiration in my stomach and soal just like I did back in the day watching the ROCKY movies and hearing the song (" da dit dit da da da dit dit da trying harder...." ) then putting on my running flats and running out the door. I try to run with the fury and conviction the running Gods bestowed on these three gifted guys and girl, but I am given a moment of pause after about 4 minutes. Anyhow, damn good production, choice of music, and best of all that running excellence! If they made a movie like chariots of fire based on real events, then this certainly has the same potential that would blow other running movies away. Excuse me for oogleing but this movie has become one of my running "gear" must haves. Every time I am feeling lazy and want to skip one of my running days, I watch the last 5 minutes of this movie to the part where Zach Miller comes flashing down the finish line - no apologies or permission from anyone and just doing his thing - just like pure un-cut raw lightening! Nike should have used this production to beef up profits instead of spending millions on the Nike Vaporfly 4% project! Its men and women like this that are going to break and expand records doing it just short of wearing flip flops! Unless I miss my mark, science has a long way to go before doing what Nike wants it to do. And what kills me and is so laughable is, even if Nike made a shoe that could allow me to complete a marathon in say, one hour. Guess what, if a Guy like Zack Miller is wearing the same technology or hell, even my 18 year old daughter, I'll still get my ass kicked leaving nothing but a red-hot charcoal looking stone in where my body was standing!!!
Billy, what an incredible film. it won't be long before I am hit all of your videos. sooo well captured and such a huge accomplishment for all of the athletes!
Brilliant production and edit Billy. You really captured the spirit of the race and hats off to all competitors. I trust Nike crossed your palm with silver handsomely for this:-) And to Sally, your smile is contagious, when you smile , I can't help but smile too. Love to all from Cape Town , South Africa
Like the pop unknown song “ writing it down for you” I “ keep coming back again and again to you” every year I fall off the cardio I come back to watch this. I have been lifting heavy for a few months and I always end up depressed and I need to run to feel better. The weights just don’t do it. Nothing like running for miles.
Thank you so much Mr Billy Yang for this film, so inspirational got me excited for my boring run around the streets of Liverpool, and what's more it's free.
I’m watching this and other ultra racing videos because October 2020, I tripped and tore my right shoulder up pretty bad. It’s been 6 months, I’m not 100% but I got in my first 25K this morning on a tough course, yeah I finished it and it reminds me of my love for trail running.
Thanks Billy. You produce the most positively influencing and inspirational running videos I have ever watched. Thank you so much for sharing them with the world. Cheers, Scott
I've watched this a good few times now and it never fails to fire me up for a big adventure or even a regular trail run. True inspiration! Even though I know what's coming, I still just love every scene. Cracking effort by the team and a great production :-D
I rarely comment on these videos but I found these type of videos that you make so inspiring that I had to let you know... keep up the great work Billy
Zach's sprint at the end it's very inspiring! Probably watched this video for at least 15 times (goosebumps every time). You're very talented Mr. Yang!
Its 12pm, its noon and Im in the office right now. Outside we're in the middle of this Enino heat. I just wish theres a trail with big A mountain outside right now. Great film Billy!

+Adam Stevens thank you Adam. mission accomplished!
Billy Yang Films I’m thinking about an ultra and your films , the ginger runner and the Barclay marathon docs are the reason why .. great work
