@@gilbertyuen7583 Agree, this is the problem of only being taught new words/expressions and we cannot use them in the right places and situations. Same here, no offence to duo weng.
Not all suggested phrases are substitutes of "I think" (in terms of "代替"): some express politely a will or a desire rather than an opinion (like "I would do sth"), some others express arguments or limits (like "based on ...", "~wise", "so far as ... concerned", etc.) to support, justify, define or confine an opinion which is yet to be introduced by a proper phrase (for instance: "Moneywise, I think we'd better forget it").
Great topic, though, and very useful lessons!
well said James Young, 其实"I think" 是所谓 “filler words” ， 口语很常用，Maggie教的很好，用在口语就比较 formal. Just my opinion.

I think (yes doing this on purpose) the best way to start a sentence is to just get straight to the point?
There really isn’t any point trying to come up with some fanciful way to replace “I think” when “I think” is typically merely just a delay tactic/buffer when he/she is still well, thinking.
I agree, very clumsy expressions if we don't use those in the right place or overuse them.

Just wondering Moneywise/timewise/technologywise, should be one word or there should be a space between each word, such as Mony wise/ Time Wise/ Technology wise.
In addition, could you please give me an example to use 'sounds promising' 这是一种褒义还是贬义表达？ 这个意思是 太有保证了吗？

I use “I think “ a lot 😅, sometimes I would say “ my point is.....”
Don't be silly. It's definitely OK to say "I think...".
Don't make simple things complicated.
@@eztomcat I agree, and I hate how the title sounds. It is good to learn more expressions, but to say "Do not say 'I think', say this instead." is not right. Even so, it should have been ...'say THESE instead..', it is obvious to me that her English is not good enough.

I would assume that her boyfriend would never tell English learns not to say "I think".
@@eztomcat Your last line just nailed it!!! For the life of me I would never tell another person not to use "I think". I got what you meant by natives would never show off their speaking skills. Same as any language, native speakers would just use the easiest and the simplest in daily life. I don't really care if her motive is to show off or not, my biggest concern is that she has been making way too many major mistakes in her 'lessons'.(I don't even mean occasional typos and mispronunciation.) That is not a responsible teacher would do. For someone who studied and has been living and working in the States for about 7 years(I am guessing), married to an American, her comprehension of the language and the culture is pretty poor in my opinion. I understand people do have their own reasons for not handling the language well and I don't have a problem with that, in that case, they should not be teaching the language... end of story! From her latest videos, I actually think her English is worse than before. (Oh my, did I just use I THINK?! Straight to hell I go!)

小明說的是事實，只是不當發音課，Maggie內容還是有參考價值。我是期待Maggie能承認錯誤，自己改進，而不是刪除或關閉留言。我看過其他播主，教錯部分英式口音和美式口英，之後於是視頻，公開道歉，但並不影響流量。所謂教 學相長，老師學生互相砥礪進步。這也是公開視頻的優勢，傳統面對面教學，只能聽老師說的，也不知道對不對，有其他先進指導，才不會再造成錯誤傳承。
教發音的老師，不是那麼好當的，可以找Lisa Mojsin的視頻，她是這行的老大姐了，也提供私人演員地區口音訓練課程。
其实学语言就觉得很迷惑啊 发音错误这种东西 拿中国人教普通话来说 还有一堆人有口音平翘舌不分 总不能说人家说的就不是中文了吧 感觉主要语法和运用更重要 发音只能说因人而异了
@@xjren4296 發音和口音，是看工作要求有多高；另外看，和你生活親朋好友的接受度。
當年小學時，根本聽不太懂一位老師的中文(隨老蔣來台灣)，家長抗議後，學校把老師調去教其他科目。或是去聽老一輩的諾貝爾獎得主演講，有些發音也不好，但不影響其成就。能溝通是最重要，但發音口音能改善，對生活還是有些助力。

* 要是能熟练地全部听懂，还需要你讲这些？能有那么好的英语能力，估计这点小问题和你一样都早已经明白了。
* 要是真的还有些不明白，正宗的英语圈出生长大的英语老师讲解母语不比你更好些？干嘛还听你讲呢？
* 你的教学，以很快的速度进行。全程偶尔吐出一两个中文单词。给人感觉就是在卖弄自己的口语。
