If anyone is curious about the New Amsterdam part: Pretty sure we ( the Dutch ) used to own New York which was back then called New Amsterdam. Later somewhere between 1670 and 1680 ( can’t remember exactly) we traded it with the English. They got New York we got Suriname.
The English captured the city in 1664, though the Dutch decided not to resist and eventually accepted the change in ownership in exchange for some spice islands. The NYC district of Harlem kept its name after the city of Haarlem in Holland.

i don't drink alcohol (partially because i'm not old enough, partially because i've heard enough shit about people getting drunk and doing stuff on reddit so i wouldn't be interested anyways) but this channel is addicting as helllll

Also the original Amsterdam is in Europe. Any state with new in its name indicates that there is an original place with said name.
