That Japanese Mario Ad is one of my favorites! I always found it cool how Mario and co. we’re friends outside the stage! Also, the Super Mario All Stars title scared me as a small child. They break the 4th wall.
7:17 I think this is a underrated release. It was my first window into the past of Mario. I was seven. And I definitely did not own a super Nintendo and I didn’t know it existed. It was my first little window into what the original Mario games were, and I love it. It always have a soft spot in my heart. What is it a bit lazy? Yeah. But he introduced me into a world that was foreign to me otherwise. I just think he gets a bad rap that’s all.
I have deleted all my comments here so I wanna say that I now know what Upscaling is it is the ILLUSION of a higher resolution you loose details when Upscaling. Mario Sunshine on all stars in 1080p native not upscaled. However, the cutscenes in Mario Sunshine are upscaled because a lot of details were lost in translation and the edges of the characters are blurry, if this was rendered in 1080p it would have far shaper edges because the sharpness of the edges even softer than the ones on gamecube. Also most of the “new” textures ie the bob omb battle field looks upscaled because it’s blurrier, but not sharper than the original. A render of a 3d model (ie a 2d image of a 3d thing) is not hard like the shine sprite texture. The hud is harder to update and I do love they did it in thus remake. The controls in mario galaxy are just mapped to something else nothing that changes the way the game feels.
Allow me to give my opinions, Connor. Ahem: 1. Super Mario All-Stars: 10/10. This was a fantastic upgrade to three treasured Mario adventures. Not only were they full remakes, but the enhanced visuals and audio made them a real treat to go through. What's more, they added Super Mario World for an even more complete package a year later. Brilliant! 2. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe: 9/10. This was a great way to put the OG 8-bit version of SMB on a cute portable device. Even more impressive is the variety of unlockable stuff and a port of The Lost Levels. Not a bad remake at all. 3. The Super Mario Advance series: 9.5/10. These were some meaty remakes! Each came with a souped-up classic Mario game and what I think is the best version of Mario Bros. arcade. The content that each game offered was cool, ranging from the full vocals of the bosses from SMB2 or the fun e-Reader levels in SMB3. I also find the Advance games to offer the better versions of Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island. 4. Super Mario 64 DS: 9.5/10. I honestly see this as the superior take on 64. Three extra characters, enhanced (albeit pixelated) graphics, 30 more Stars, and even some minigames make this quite the fancy upgrade. I am one of the few who doesn't object to the D-pad on the original DS, but 3DS is definitely better. As a side note, I _love_ the added Mega Mushroom item. 5. Super Mario All-Stars Wii: 5/10. Yeeeeah, this was a lazy attempt. I'm not one to actively bash Nintendo, but this would have been much better as a special Wii Shop release while Galaxy 2 could be the 25th anniversary game. Not much more for me to say... 5. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: 8/10. Yes, yes; everyone loves to bash New Soup for its unoriginality and playing it safe, but I like every game in the series, including U. I concede that more could have been added to make it "Deluxe", but I am mostly unoffended by it. I enjoy the inclusion of Toadette and the option to pick anyone in single player. 6. Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Well, it doesn't look like I can get this game right now, but from what I seen, it's a serviceable rerelease. I would have liked to see more pronounced upgrades in graphics and maybe a bit more stuff added to the core gameplay, but having these games on Switch is rather satisfying. Nice video, dude.

I have the ROMs for just about every single game from the Atari 2600 all the way up to the GameCube with everything, and I mean everything in between. I still support the official release. It shows Nintendo that we care. yeah there are things in emulators that I can do that official releases can't, but honestly it really doesn't bother me. If you don't want to pay for the games, that's fine, but I will still buy the games. I enjoyed them, and I'm glad that I have another way of playing these games.

I feel the same way, Although Shindou Version is also something I would like to see too, given I've only played on a Japanese N64 and I'd love to play it on Switch. TBH they could have given us both versions as part of the collection since they are emulations.
@@tahnis_walart The 3DS analog stick may be easier on the thumb sure, but keep in mind that doesn't magically re-program the game to have 360 degree movement, you're still stuck with 8 directions.
So i was thinking about this last night about how it could of been better if Nintendo remastered the music to like and orchestra or jazz and changed up the lighting and shading like imagine sunshine with odysseys lighting
I am glad someone noticed the controls in Mario 1 and Lost Levels were different to the original NES. Did you also know you don't always ricochet off the blocks you break above you in the All Stars version? Yeah...sometimes you continue your jump trajectory slightly, it puts you off some speed running tactics you may have done when big Mario!
It's funny how nintendo seems to go all out when porting there games to the handheld consoles (the advance series, super mario bros. Deluxe, Mario 64 ds metroid Samus Returns.) but they just got lazy with the ports on their main consoles (pretty much everything except super mario all stars and Links Awakening for Switch.).
I feel like Super Mario Galaxy 2 should've been included in the 3D All-Stars port too, I mean it had double the stars of the original (Green Stars) and was a perfect sequel to the original!
I remember a few years ago when I first found out there was a version of Super Mario All-Stars that included Super Mario World I had no idea existed, and was even more surprised to find out the sprite of Luigi was updated to actually resemble Luigi with it’s own movement style unlike the original version where it was just a copy of Mario swiping red colors for green.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Having Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy on the switch is cool. And i'm not one of those "Put it on the switch so I can play on the go" kind of people, I rarely play my switch. But, they are just basic ports, nothing that exciting. I almost would have preferred a remake of the original Mario All-Stars. An actual remake though, with new cartoony HD sprites. I think that would have been a neat kind of collection for the anniversary. I did see a comment the other day that said " I was literally shaking with hype when they announced 3D All-Stars. I'm going to pre-order a physical copy tomorrow." Which I don't really get, like, Im glad your hyped but man.. they're just basic ports of 10 year old games.
They actually didn't. Mouser ist still in the game, he just doesn't appear in World 3 anymore. He was a boss in Worlds 1 and 3 in the original and is in Worlds 1 and 6 in the Advance version.

Point 1: hooking up a gamecube in a car to play the 3d mario games Wii, which could play all three, while sunshine was the only mario on gamecube: am i a joke to you? Point 2: super mario advance series. This series consisted of 2, 3, yoshi's island, and world, NOT super mario 1. That was actually ported under the nes classic series.
One thing most people never mention about Super Mario All Stars on the Wii is that you can eject the disc while playing and the game still runs just fine.
Actually the menu is quite nice considering it's supposed to make it out like you're going to the Golden age of movies. also I don't need the games to be remastered or anything, so long as the base product is fine. And as far as I'm aware, these games are.
Also 3D World + Bowser's Fury is coming as well. You forgot to mention it. But I guess that makes sense since that releases in 5 months and 3D All-Stars is on every Mario fans mind at the moment.
Super Mario All-Stars for the Wii was actually thirty dollars. My main reason for buying it was the factor of it being a collectible until it was rereleased in the Selects line.
Also, FYI, you don't "unlock" Yoshi in Mario 64 DS, you start the game only being able to play as Yoshi. You have to unlock Mario to play as him, along with Luigi and Wario. All three got kidnapped, and Yoshi needed to rescue Mario at least to play as anybody other than Yoshi, as Mario is mandatory for the Bowser fights, as well as bypassing the Endless Staircase.
Correction, only the first two in 3D All Stars are complete ports by emulation. And Mario 64 in the collection is actually the Japanese exclusive Shindou version we never got outside of Japan. Mario Galaxy in the collection however, runs on a dual mix of emulation and porting. They had to change the controls and files to get it to run on the Switch. It's not as easy to emulate Wii games on the Switch, you need a Wii Bios to get it to work, which Nintendo didn't include to save data size of the game from getting too huge. This is also why we have touch screen functions, being able to spin with Y button instead of only shaking, as well as not having Mii support for a marking your save data slot of the game.
@@roxassora2706 It's probably the history of the JP release then the Western English release versions. Though that's one game. Most of the bashing is fans going on on Super Mario 64 because most of them have modern TVs that are widescreen over full screen and the Mario quote "So Long Kinga Bowser" is replace by the Asian release versions "Bye bye" which leads to a downgrade. Though the other two games I do agree with why bash them. I know they don't have updated graphics and no new features though they aren't downgrades their stationary.
@@roxassora2706 Also one thing is that I am hoping Nintendo rereleases a much better version of this with a plus Super Mario Galaxy 2. Also they probably rushed it by the dead point and Covid-19 problem so Nintendo America is like ooo let's gamble it to release it. Though hope the plus is added and problems are addressed later just like Super Mario World (3:09) how Luigi looks compare to the OG version. There is a lot of history that even I get confused by Nintendo.
I really think you should've mentioned the E reader features on Super Mario advance 4. It might be a port of SMB3 for the most part, but those were a huge deal with that remake. And now, I don't consider this video complete.

The only good thing I can say about the Wii's port of Super Mario All-Stars is that you can actually keep the save files. In the SNES cartridges the save batteries often die out and you'll lose all of your progress. I never played the SNES as much after that happening to me. Now that I think about it, why didn't they add Super Mario World as well??
I know I’m in the unpopular opinion-area when I say this, but I honestly wish that we got the DS version of Mario 64 in 3D All-Stars. I would have loved to revisit my childhood game and play as Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi, but... oh well. ALSO THE MINIGAMES YAY MY FAVORITE ONE WAS WAS THE “MOST WANTED” ONE WHERE ONE OF THE MARIO CHARACTERS WAS ASKED FOR CHILD SUPPORT AND PROCEEDED TO HIDE BEHIND EVERYONE ELSE
I played SM64 in an emulator on a laptop without an analog controller, and let's say despite D-Pad movement, it didn't hinder me to push in trying to finish the game, hence probably why I think the D-Pad issue in SM64DS wasn't too bad.
I don’t care if 3D all stars is just a basic port, those games weren’t remastered, and different sound changes like “bye bye” in sm64. No matter what, I’ll enjoy this game when it comes out
super mario sunshine and galaxy is in hd and super mario 64 is pixel perfect and also with all song of them even an unused one and you can play galaxy with touch screen and the swinging got replaced by a butten so idk man i think its like a 6/10 for a colection but for the game: 10/10

The graphics of super Mario 3d all stars IS updated and controls ARE updated for switch
Also 3D World + Bowser's Fury is coming as well. You forgot to mention it. But I guess that makes sense since that releases in 5 months and 3D All-Stars is on every Mario fans mind at the moment.
Super Mario All-Stars for the Wii was actually thirty dollars. My main reason for buying it was the factor of it being a collectible until it was rereleased in the Selects line.
Also, FYI, you don't "unlock" Yoshi in Mario 64 DS, you start the game only being able to play as Yoshi. You have to unlock Mario to play as him, along with Luigi and Wario. All three got kidnapped, and Yoshi needed to rescue Mario at least to play as anybody other than Yoshi, as Mario is mandatory for the Bowser fights, as well as bypassing the Endless Staircase.

Correction, only the first two in 3D All Stars are complete ports by emulation. And Mario 64 in the collection is actually the Japanese exclusive Shindou version we never got outside of Japan. Mario Galaxy in the collection however, runs on a dual mix of emulation and porting. They had to change the controls and files to get it to run on the Switch. It's not as easy to emulate Wii games on the Switch, you need a Wii Bios to get it to work, which Nintendo didn't include to save data size of the game from getting too huge. This is also why we have touch screen functions, being able to spin with Y button instead of only shaking, as well as not having Mii support for a marking your save data slot of the game.

I never played it. So I don't get why people are bashing the new game anyway. It's 3 playable games, no big deal.
@@roxassora2706 It's probably the history of the JP release then the Western English release versions.
Though that's one game.
Most of the bashing is fans going on on Super Mario 64 because most of them have modern TVs that are widescreen over full screen and the Mario quote "So Long Kinga Bowser" is replace by the Asian release versions "Bye bye" which leads to a downgrade.
Though the other two games I do agree with why bash them. I know they don't have updated graphics and no new features though they aren't downgrades their stationary.

Also they probably rushed it by the dead point and Covid-19 problem so Nintendo America is like ooo let's gamble it to release it. Though hope the plus is added and problems are addressed later just like Super Mario World (3:09) how Luigi looks compare to the OG version.
There is a lot of history that even I get confused by Nintendo.

The gba advanced games were and still are amazing , I get my o.g. ds out still to this day and play those .

The only good thing I can say about the Wii's port of Super Mario All-Stars is that you can actually keep the save files. In the SNES cartridges the save batteries often die out and you'll lose all of your progress. I never played the SNES as much after that happening to me. Now that I think about it, why didn't they add Super Mario World as well??

I know I’m in the unpopular opinion-area when I say this, but I honestly wish that we got the DS version of Mario 64 in 3D All-Stars. I would have loved to revisit my childhood game and play as Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi, but... oh well.

I played SM64 in an emulator on a laptop without an analog controller, and let's say despite D-Pad movement, it didn't hinder me to push in trying to finish the game, hence probably why I think the D-Pad issue in SM64DS wasn't too bad.
I don’t care if 3D all stars is just a basic port, those games weren’t remastered, and different sound changes like “bye bye” in sm64. No matter what, I’ll enjoy this game when it comes out
super mario sunshine and galaxy is in hd and super mario 64 is pixel perfect and also with all song of them even an unused one and you can play galaxy with touch screen and the swinging got replaced by a butten so idk man i think its like a 6/10 for a colection but for the game: 10/10
